The Friday Polls, 08 Race

Lets see its the end of the second week with Obama and McCain for the 08 Election. Lets have a look at the Polls.

Rasmussen: One of the closer polls, the race which was tight before is closer. In this poll Obama still leads but by a narrow margin of 3%. In a head to head match up, Obama 48% - McCain 45%. Although Obama has lead in all the match up polls since he won the nomination, it not by much, would not place on a bet for him to win just yet, miles to go before the Oval Office.

Fox News
: Reports that Obama is ahead by follows the trend from last week, in this Poll Obama is ahead by 4%, in the match up, Obama 45% - McCain 41%. In the poll a interesting find was that Obama/Clinton v McCain/Romney would win 48% - 41%.

The RCP Average of Polls has Obama ahead by 4.2%.

It could be argued that McCain is doing something right, he has kept the Obama lead down to single digits. Thus the move to the right when it comes to drilling seems to be working, needs to stress Drilling on the USA coast, with the cost of gas at 4 dollars and above the American people are not that green. Obama needs to create the impression that he is in the centre, his first ad was good but he needs to do something that will make Liberals unhappy, if he is seen as a Elite Liberal he will lose the election.

No, No and No ?

BBC News: It seems that the EU does not get the simple reply NO. Ireland has voted but one still gets the impression that the EU thinks it can order Ireland to change its mind. If by some stupid mistake the Government of Ireland should ask for another vote the Irish people should send another clear No.

2000 = 2008

Politico: A very hopeful article if your a Republican or a Conservative, its 2008, McCain has lost the popular vote but wins the Electoral College. On the other hand Obama has won the popular vote but is not President. Then weeks of court cases if your a political geek this is a must, go 2008 to became 2000. Must Read of the Day.

Obama 1st General Election Ad

A good at ad at first impression, but the problem I have with this Ad is that on the one hand he threw his grandmother under the train to protect his pastor but now he needs her to show that Reagan Democrats should take a look at him. It depends what the Reagan Democrats really think, have they taken in all the negative stuff from the race with Hillary Clinton, does Obama have to solve some of his baggage like his Pastor.

Electoral Collage

RCP: Has the Electoral Collage as follows, Obama 238, McCain 163. Looking at the States that can win by either I have the following results. This is early and it will change over time.

FL, 27 = McCain

NC,15 = McCain

MO,11 = McCain

VA,13 = McCain

In, 11 = McCain

Mi, 17 = McCain

NH,4 = McCain

OH,20 = McCain

NV, 5 = McCain

Total 286 ( POTUS )

States in Play 08 Redux

Yesterday Obama was ahead of McCain in Florida and Ohio, now we have a poll that shows a different result. In two new Rasmussen Polls, Florida and Ohio we see McCain is ahead, in Florida McCain is ahead by eight percent, in Ohio we see a even split between Obama and McCain, in Ohio McCain is only ahead by 1% over Obama. This result shows that there will be a lot of polls and they will be all over the place, its a very long race in 08.

Obama another Nixon!

BBC News: Reports that Senator Obama is to fight his Presidential Campaign with private money. The last candidate to fight a General Election Campaign with private money was Richard Nixon. Lets see what the Elite Media states about this development, don't expect much they are in the tank for Obama. This move will hurt McCain, he is taking public money and thus will be restricted in spending, McCain has had problems in getting the money in to the Campaign.
