Thus US celebrates its 250th birthday.  The US is great, yes it has had its flaws, slavery etc, it took deaths and a civil war to STOP, even then it took in till the 1960s for African Americans to get their full rights, in the 21st Century it elected its 1st black President.  On the plus side we had US leadership during WW1 and 2.  The great President Ronald Reagan ended the Cold War, US is not perfect but still a Shining City on a Hill.

This has been a disgrace by the Republican Party, where are the elder Statesmen of the Party, and more important how come former President Trump has not done more, they are his followers, or have they gone totally rogue, the US image around the World is taking a battering by the extreme right in the Republican Party.  The Democrats will be drinking out of these past two nights for years, the extreme right is making the Squad on the Democratica side look stable, and that is saying something.   It is time for some back room deals, it has to be made clear to the 20, that when the Republicans take the Speakership that their actions will not be forgotten if they carry on this way, one can see the political adverts already for 2024, Biden will be laughing his backside off, the Republicans have to unite behind McCarthy or someone else, and it has to be done either tonight or tomorrow, the Party of Lincoln and Reagan are making the US look like a banana Republic, this has to STOP.

What would the Gipper say, the question is what would the Gipper say about the present Republican Party that allows someone like Donald Trump to hijack the Party of Lincoln and Reagan.  In this choice Bush 41 is making the correct choice, Trump is unfit to be President. Thus only only a couple of weeks in till HRC gets the Oval Office.

Telegraph: Reports on Hillary Clinton's comments on Donald Trump, while she praised President Lincoln, "  Mrs Clinton was much less generous about present-day Republicans and issued a blistering moral condemnation of Donald Trump's call for a ban on Muslims entering the when a Muslim woman wearing Islamic head-covering asked for assurance that America was the best place to raise her three children. "

Lets Get Real:

This is why should the Republicans nominate Trump that this blog will support HRC, she called Trump out on his racist comments, the rest of the Republican field with the exception of Jeb Bush have let the issue go, while Bush has called Trump a jerk,  but in political reality the Bush Campaign is OVER, the only real threat to Trump is Cruz, not one Republican Senator has come out in support of Cruz, he is that hated by the Republican Establishment. Thus lets hope Senator Rubio of Florida can make Iowa lean towards him, otherwise its a Trump vs Clinton match up. 

Obama and ObamaCare

CNN Politics: Reports that President Obama has stated that over turning the individual mandate in ObamaCare would be a major step. One has to ask does the White House already NOW the result of the hearing before the US Supreme Court, it would surprise this blog if some of the details had not leaked somewhere, its just to big a secret to keep. As to over turning the individual mandate what about the fact that it goes against the US Constitution in the first place, as the left love to use race in elections context, at one time if you were black in the South you were a Slave, that was wrong, legally and morally, so in the view of ObamaCare if you take your first breath as a US Citizen after 26 years on your family’s healthcare you have to buy healthcare from the private market, is that not a form of Government slavery to benefit the private sector.

Is Obama another Ford or Lincoln

Fox News: Reports that President - Elect Obama will use the bible that was used in the first Inauguration of President Lincoln in 1861. The Title of this piece comes from a book on President Ford, A Ford not a Lincoln, will Obama like Ford who faced eventual times fail or like Lincoln save the Union through this economic crisis. In 1974 Ford had the Vietnam War and a Economic crisis, Obama has two Wars, Iraq and Afghanistan and the economic 9/11. In Iraq the USA has a time table to get out by 2011, this will allow the Iraqi government to take over the heavy load of security. In Afghanistan the Obama Administration will try a surge to see if this will combat the terrorist threat, the problem is Pakistan, this is very much like the threat that South Vietnam faced from North Vietnam, the Viet Cong had the support of North Vietnam, the terrorists have the support of the Tribal leaders on the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan, also the terrorists have the support of the ISI, the Intelligence Service of Pakistan. Thus in many respects Obama has many more severe problems, the Economy is in free fall, the typical Liberal answer is to spend money, but as the New Deal of the 1930s showed it was not the government spending that got the USA out of the Great Depression it was World War Two. If the Obama money spend does not work what is Plan B. In 1976 Ford was defeated by Jimmy Carter, in 2012 will Obama be another Ford defeated for re- election or will he win a second term like Lincoln. The War in Afghanistan will define the Obama Presidency on the International Front while on the Domestic Side his vast spending will decide if he wins a second term as POTUS.
