This would be the main story of the day, but the US debt ceiling is like JAWS, there and cannot be spun away.  It is taken a long time to the Biden Oval to get to this point, months in fact, this just might be the red line that pushes Putin to go with a WMD answer to the Ukraine War.  It is a game changer, the Ukraine Army and Air force will have the latest military kit to push Putin out of the Ukraine and the Crimea. This blog has been somewhat surprised that Putin has not tried something in the Baltic States or Finland the newest member of NATO.  The Kremlin needs a diversion to make the West pause, and a strike on the Baltic States or Finland could do that, or get China to invade Taiwan, that would drag the US in to Asia or get North Korea to have a air nuclear test.  The last days of Putin could be coming!

Lets Get Real:

The point of this move by the EU and other Western hemisphere powers is to curb the amount of money that Russia gets for its oil and restrict its actions in the Ukraine.  A total ban on Russia oil would be to risky for the West, as it is now, Putin can pull the plug anytime he wants, and one expects this kind of move in the WINTER should it be bad.  It is reported that the this WINTER will be mild, one never knows with British weather ( this blog went through three phases on a bus trip, rain, snow and the sun at the end ) thus one can hope, but the UK Government should make sure that the UK  and the West has enough reserve oil for the winter should it be rough.  A harsh winter in the Ukraine should lead to a WAR of ATTRITION between the Ukraine and Russia, the Ukraine and Russian trenches remid one of World War 1, one can only hope that the WAR does not escalate into WW3.

Ukrainian Nuclear Plant and the G7 - Ukraine Update - Biden Era

Lets Get Real:

The Nuclear plant in question is being run by its Ukrainian staff under the guard of the Russians, there have been claim and counter claim on who is bombing it or placing bombs on site, this is to serious for the Western security for the West to keep its distance from it, there needs to be a NATO force there to protect the plant, Western Europe does not need another Chernobyl of the 1980s.   The Russians must be forced to hand over the plant to NATO or other forces that will protect the plant and makes sure that there are no attacks from Russia.  What happens if a rocket hits the plant or the Kremlin decides to blow it up, as to show how far it will go to WIN.  One does wonder where the grown ups in the Kremlin are, does no one in Russia have the nerve challenge Putin and the Russian Army. 

West MUST SUPPORT UKRAINE - UK PM - Ukraine - Russia War - New Cold War 2

Lets Get Real:

The US and the West faces a cost of living crisis, coming out of COVID - 19, then there is inflation, in part inflation is being driven by the Ukraine - Russia War, the fact that oil prices have gone up, due to the WAR.  Also the Russians are keeping grain of Ukraine has hostage, thus a part of the cost of living crisis. The Russian President has no shame, he has shown that he is a WAR CRIMINAL, he has allowed his troops to do WAR CRIMES with no action.  The destruction of the East of Ukraine, is a WAR CRIME.  The Western Leaders have to explain to voters, that the West cannot afford to allow Russia to WIN, any success by Russia is a threat to Europe, also it might to LEAD to World War 3.

Lets Get Real:

The Western economic growth has been hit by the WAR in the UKRAINE, the various leaders will have to deal with the economic consequences, such as high inflation in the US, the highest since the 1980s, the approval rating for POTUS is in the toilet,  while in the UK wages have not gone up with inflation, thus people are finding it hard to eat or heat their homes, also the cost of gas has gone up, thus people are finding that their family budgets have been hit and has required some families to use food banks.  Also the Conservative Government has increases taxes, the highest since the 1950s, as to help the NHS and to help with future social care for the elderly.  And of course the Westminster bubble of the left wing press, Guardian, Channel 4, Sky News, BBC News, The Times, are more concerned about how many parties the PM attended in 10 Downing Street during lockdown.  The Elite press hated BREXIT and hate the PM.  Thus the one thing that is saving the PM is the fact that Russia invaded the Ukraine, and we could be facing World War 3, thus both POTUS and PM have found themselves having to throw the sink of sanctions at Russia, while arming the KYIV Government, the West needs the Ukraine to WIN or at least push Russia back to the map before they started the WAR. 

On the Russian side, Putin after the sinking of Black Sea Flagship has to show a victory to the Russian people, he has hidden how many young Russian conscripts have been killed, it could range from fifteen to twenty thousand, more that were killed in Afghanistan between 1979 - 89.  Thus the Kremlin wants to declare victory on May 9th, the day the Russian people their sole victory over Nazi Germany, the West has been written out of the script, one has to say the Russian PR on the Russian people has been very effective, they think the West is the enemy, while the real enemy is in the Kremlin, a WAR CRIMINAL at that.  Thus Putin wants to declare victory in East Ukraine on the 9th.  The next few week are very important for Russia and the West.

Massive consequences if Russia invades the Ukraine - G7

Lets Get Real:

One can postulate that President Putin will laugh this off, as stated, HE and RUSSIA are already under sanction, the G7 was formally the G8 before Putin was thrown OUT over the Crimea invasion.  The only thing that Putin and Russia understands is STRENGH, and POTUS and the West has shown GREAT WEAKNESS when faced with Putin.  If the West was really serious it would draw a red line in the Ukraine and place NATO COMBAT TROOPS on the ground, this would warn off the Russians, but no feeble sanctions are the only threat to Russia.  The Russian people will be hurt but it can be postulated that they will support THEIR President against the West, they have been forced feet lies from print to TV and social media.  Putin is not stupid, the question is can he cover up body bags coming back from the Ukraine, a invasion of the Ukraine will be hard to hide even in Russia.  If only Biden was JFK or Reagan, this would not happen, fear goes a long way with the Russians.

We have WEAK leaders IN the West, the US President should not need to ask the TALIBAN for an extension, he should just do it, and dare the Taliban to do something, that goes for any other terrorist group.  The US has the firepower to blow away the Taliban, but Biden is afraid, he is caught in his own PR mistake.  The August 31st deadline was for the home market, for the American voter, what the American voter does not want is a WEAK President who is not trigger happy, a great President will always have his hand on the trigger, to scare the life out of any dangerous opposition, how the Biden Oval will square this hole will be interesting to see, if he leaves any Americans and Afghan allies in Afghanistan the Biden Presidency will be OVER.  Biden if he had the guts should send in more troops, whatever the number, and remind the Taliban they are there by his pleasure, not the other way around.

The French President is LOW in the polls at home and faces a general election soon.   Thus Paris and London have good reason to have a barney, it appeals to the British to have a go at the French, while the French President says he is supporting the EU, that might have sold well in the past, not now, not after COVID - 19.   The UK PM should invoke Article 16 of the Northern Ireland Protocol, this allows either the EU or the UK to negate sections of the deal that allowed the UK to leave the EU if the effects of the deal are having a negative impact on the people of the province.   The UK Government and the EU do not want to see the return of the troubles, one can only hope that Paris grows up and can see that Northern Ireland is part of the UK and always will be as long as the population wants that as the result.

Lets Get Real:

The above tells us nothing, the PM is being diplomatic and also trying to get the issue out of the way, he does not want it to be the focus of the G7 meeting.  It will be interesting to see a readout of the US view of the meeting.   The G7 should try to form a policy for the rich countries to fund the vaccine for ALL of the people of the World.  What about North Korea etc, are the US going to send the vaccine there while that Regime is building a nuclear missile that can hit the US.  Even POTUS could not sell that to the American people.  After the G7, POTUS meets Putin, that will be interesting, this blog has predicted that Putin will eat Biden for breakfast, Biden might have been a Senator and former VP under Obama, while Putin is ALL KGB, he has seen Presidents come and go, if he thinks Biden is WEAK and a EMPTY SUIT, he will use that to place his military in the Ukraine.  Putin will miss the days of Trump, well he should if Biden is STRONG and FIRM.

Lets Get Real:

After the disaster that was President Trump, POTUS needs to get the US back in the game, as in leading the West, he will want close ties with the EU, will want to make sure that the Good Friday Agreement is kept in place, as to Putin, why does this blog think that Putin will eat Biden for breakfast, he has been around since 2000, he has seen US Presidents come and go.   Trump bent over backwards to be nice to Putin, God only knows why, no normal President would have done that.   One hopes that Biden is tough on Putin, that the cyber attacks from Russia must be stopped, it does not matter if they are State sponsored or private groups, Moscow must do something, of course there will be discussions on the Ukraine and the Russian actions during the 2016 and 2020 Presidential Elections.   As for China, the Biden Oval will understand that China buys most of the US debt, so one cannot upset your banker to much, if China sold ALL it BONDS, the Western economy would go in to tail spin, China would be hurt, but they think long term.   Interesting G7 meeting coming up.

HOW will POTUS react to this SNUB, he has very thin skin when it comes to insults, just ask the Prime Minister of Denmark, Trump cancelled a State Visit over the fact that Denmark would not sell Greenland to the US.   This snub should make the hawks in the Trump Administration more powerful.   They will argue that France DID ONE OVER on Trump and they knew that Tehran will play this cat mouse game.  It will be interesting to see if Tehran takes action against oil tankers in the Gulf, and how will the USA react.   Trump is watching the US economy face recession, what better way to divert attention than a WAR with Iran.

What is it with Russia and Trump, he gains no fans by wanting to have Russia back in the G7, so why bring it up.   One has the viewpoint that Russia must have something on Trump, no other President would state the above view after Russia was thrown out of the G8.  In the fact the G7 is only a day meeting for POTUS, he is off for his meeting with the North Koreans next Tuesday, one does wonder that the two mercurial and egoistical leaders will say to each other, as Tuesday will not be boring, this Summit and the votes in the House of Commons when it comes to Brexit.

Obama on Russia - The New Cold War 11

Or does he recognise that Russia’s greatness does not depend on violating the territorial integrity and sovereignty of other countries?” the US president said.. "

Lets Get Real:

This was a firm slap for President Putin, one can guess that there will be an increase in the violence in East Ukraine, as Russia makes its feelings known about the latest comments and threat of more sanctions by G7.    The G7 and other World bodies have to be firm with the Russian bear, once it takes one basket it will go for others,  one can see at  a future date that news breaks that Russian forces have invaded the Ukraine and are heading for the Capital Kiev, while other Russian forces head for the Baltic States and Finland.   The question is what will the US and its allies do then, words mean nothing to Putin, he is a Russian bear, that needs his nose slapped and his clawed broken off, force is the only thing that Putin understands.   Thus the 2nd cold war faced by the West.
