Obama on Russia - The New Cold War 11

Guardian: Reports on remarks by President Obama on Putin and Russia, the article notes the following, " “Does he continue to wreck his country’s economy and continue Russia’s isolation in pursuit of a wrong-headed desire to recreate the glories of the Soviet empire? Or does he recognise that Russia’s greatness does not depend on violating the territorial integrity and sovereignty of other countries?” the US president said.. "

Lets Get Real:

This was a firm slap for President Putin, one can guess that there will be an increase in the violence in East Ukraine, as Russia makes its feelings known about the latest comments and threat of more sanctions by G7.    The G7 and other World bodies have to be firm with the Russian bear, once it takes one basket it will go for others,  one can see at  a future date that news breaks that Russian forces have invaded the Ukraine and are heading for the Capital Kiev, while other Russian forces head for the Baltic States and Finland.   The question is what will the US and its allies do then, words mean nothing to Putin, he is a Russian bear, that needs his nose slapped and his clawed broken off, force is the only thing that Putin understands.   Thus the 2nd cold war faced by the West. 

The Terror in Mosul - The New War on Terror

BBC News: Reports on the terror that is faced by all the people of Mosul due to IS, the article notes the following, " Secretly filmed videos obtained by the BBC's Ghadi Sary show mosques being blown up, abandoned schools, and women being forced to cover up their bodies. "

Lets Get Real:

The stories coming out of Mosul show why IS has to be destroyed root and branch, they bring terror to all people, men, women and children.   The Iraqi Government should make the retaking of Mosul one of its top aims in this new war on terror.   The US military needs to play an active part in Iraq, that means ground troops, the US voter has to be made aware that IS is one of the most dangerous groups to come out of the Middle East in years.   It is brainwashing children at an early age, their education is now full of hate.   Women are not allowed to work or leave their homes without their husbands.  All opposition to IS is seen as a threat, thus they are either killed or are forced to leave.  IS is nothing but Middle Eastern version of Nazi Germany.   Then there was a FDR, Churchill even Stalin to oppose them, what about now voter, will will save the Middle East. 

The US/Iraq and the Future - New War on Terror

BBC News: Reports " The US does not yet have a "complete strategy" for helping Iraq regain territory from Islamic State (IS), President Barack Obama has said. "

Lets Get Real:

The one question that has to be asked about the above is WHO's fault is it that the US does not have a complete strategy to take on IS.   The one answer is President Obama, he allowed his rhetoric to matter more than his duty to protect the US, thus he withdrew US troops from Iraq in 2011 and thus allowed for the development of IS in Syria, Iraq, Libya and other African States.   The failure of the Obama Administration to support secular rebels in Syria allowed them to be taken over by the IS and Al Qaeda, thus the present mess in Syria.   The Obama Administrtaion has been a total failure on foreign policy. 

The END of the INF Treaty - New Cold War

Telegraph: Reports " Nuclear missiles could be sited again on British soil in new 'Cold War' with Russia...Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond says there are 'worrying signs' about the increased activity of Russian forces and the UK would consider the pros and cons of taking US intermediate-range weapons  "

Lets Get Real:

Thus the nuclear treaty signed by Presidents Reagan and Gorbachev is under threat due to the actions of President Putin in the Crimea and the East Ukraine.   The West should wait in till Moscow breaks the INF Treaty then it can say that since Russia has broken the agreement the West will place nuclear missiles back in the UK.   One would hope that Russia does not break this agreement, if it does it would show that the Russian word can not be trusted and we are back to the worse of the Cold War days.  Lets hope Putin knows when to STOP.

Lets Get Real:

The Labour Party has to get over Iraq, it needs to bring Tony Blair in from the cold, it needs advice on how to WIN elections, otherwise it will become a walking dead party, always the opposition never the government.  The UK system works best when there is a decent opposition, not the present mess of a weak Party with a leadership contest on going, everyone in the Shadow Cabinet is trying to make sure they are not sacked by the new leader, thus no one wants to lead on anything in case the new leader junks that idea.   THUS LABOUR, BRING BACK BLAIR. 

Labour's Northern Mistake - Post 2015 Election

BBC News: Reports " Lord Mandelson has criticised Labour for failing to come up with a credible strategy for decentralising power from London to northern England.  "

Lets Get Real:

Thus Labour has a major problem in Scotland were it has almost been wiped out, it needs to get Southern Seats as to form a Government and it is allowing the Conservatives to steal a march on them in the North.    One has to ask can Labour even be saved, without Scotland there is no majority Labour Government, but once Labour heartland is now SNP heartland.   The Labour Party has to build up from the ground, it has to learn what really moves Scottish voters, they voted to stay part of the UK, thus they must be open to Union Parties, such as Labour, what do Scottish voters want to hear and how can that be squared with the North and Southern England.    This is a major electoral operation, and we have the Scottish elections next year, Labour does not have long to develop a new political strategy. 

The Labour FAILURE in 2015 - Post 2015 Election

Lets Get Real:

Thank God the above crowd did not win the last election, it would have seen the return of the Blair and Brown years of warfare, the Labour Party has to get over New Labour period, yes they won three elections but the bad blood in Labour goes on.    A new leader needs to follow the agenda of Blair but also keep the Labour Party in the centre, its is difficult when in the Southern England the Labour Party was thrashed, and in Scotland the Labour Party now has only 1 MP, the same as the Liberal Democrats and the Conservatives, the Southern voters want a UK government to be tough on welfare while Scottish voters want to end to the era of austerity.   The Labour Party can only win power again when it works out how to have Scottish and Southern English voters voting for them, its not easy voter.
