Lets Get Real:

IF your the White House you must be thinking you have two months to ACT, the Democrats do not take over in till January, thus in that time Trump could sack the Special Prosecutor, close down the Russian investigation, and dare the Democrats to impeach him, let us recall that the Republicans control the Senate, there will be no impeachment.   If the Oval Office was very ruthless and smart, it would act now, the Democrats will go through the roof but they can not do anything for a while, while the Republican can be expected to go along.   The Republican Party is now the Party of Donald Trump, and he gets Republicans elected to the Senate.

Lets Get Real:

The Oval Office must know be tempted to sack the Special Prosecutor, the Republicans hold the Senate, one doubts that ANY will actually defend the Special Prosecutor, also they know that the Republican Party is know the Trump Party, they will be looking forward to their own re-election.   The two Republican moderates in the Senate will have less power as the Republicans have increased their number, it could lead to an interesting clash between the House and Senate.   It will be interesting to watch the moves of POTUS over the next few days. 

POTUS on the Mid Terms - Update 2 - Trump Era

BBC News: Reports " US President Donald Trump has hailed "tremendous success" in the mid-term elections after a night of mixed results for his Republican party...The Republicans are on course to increase their representation from 51 to 54 in the 100-seat Senate upper chamber.  "

Lets Get Real:

The President was as combative as ever, having a go at the liberal press, that will go down well with the Republican base.   The base will be overjoyed that the Republicans have kept the Senate, they can carry on to appoint Conservative Judges, and could get another Supreme Court pick.   The Attorney General Jeff Sessions has already gotten the CHOP, then POTUS will pick a AG who will do as he is told when it comes to the Special Prosecutor.    The President can be expected to move to foreign policy in his last two years of the first term, the Democrats will block his domestic agenda, on the international front the Oval Office has more power.    On the Democratic side it will be interesting to see how new Speaker Pelosi deals with the fact that her hard liberal base will want to impeach Trump while those just elected will be looking at 2020, they will want to show that they have done something for two years, just going after Trump will not cut it in moderate States.   Thus we shall see how good a deal maker POTUS  is when faced with a divided government.

Lets Get Real:

It is about time that the US Attorney General went toe to toe with the Oval Office, POTUS spends most of his days being critical of Sessions and the US Justice Department.   It can be argued that Sessions has kept his honour while Trump has debased the Office of the Presidency.   If Trump wants to fire Sessions he has the power, then he should do it, if POTUS wants to be the strong man he should ACT, fire Sessions, finish the Russian investigation and see what happens afterwards.

J. Edgar Hoover will be turning in his grave IF the above true, only he was allowed to abuse his position of power.   The most important words above is, IF, the FBI and the Trump Justice Department do not want the memo released.   This blog on the whole supports the National Security view of the Department and the Agency, one doubts that the FBI really want to bring down Trump, it might be Trump who brings himself down by his own actions.  The Special Prosecutor is looking at a case of Obstruction of Justice, the firing of the Director of the FBI, making sure that the acting head was a supporter, also covering up the real reason for the Russian meeting at the Trump Tower.   It can be argued that Trump has given the sword to Mueller, it is a question of will it be used on Trump.

The Mueller Probe is buildings its blocks for a charge against President Trump, the charge will be Obstruction of Justice for the firing of the FBI Director who was looking at the Russian actions during the 2016 election.   It is only a matter of time before POTUS is asked to answer questions from the Special Prosecutor.   The Trump Oval must be worried what Sessions said to the probe, the Oval has been highly critical of Jeff Sessions in the past, those tweets of Trump could come back to bite him on the backside.   The probe is closing in on Trump.

It is interesting how the uber liberal Department of Justice does not want to investigate the Obama Administration and the Clintons.   POTUS is right to pressure his Attorney General to sanction a special counsel into the Clintons, they have been given a free ride for years, one can say that the uber liberal defence of Bill Clinton in 1998 has allowed for the present sexual allegations hitting the US Establishment.   In 1998 Liberals argued that Clinton's sexual allegations did not affect his job as President, thus they defend him, even in their heart of hearts they must have know there was smoke with the fire.   The Liberal Establishment first has to throw Bill Clinton under the bus before they can face the American people when it comes to other allegations.

The New York Times: Reports on the calls from Republicans in Congress to investigate the Clintons, the article states the following, " Whether or not the department appoints a special counsel, the pressure to do so is clear, from both Republicans in Congress and Mr. Trump, who has threatened Mr. Sessions’s job if he fails to prosecute Mrs. Clinton...the push for the Justice Department to undertake a politically motivated investigation of a president’s political opponent, and purely as revenge for an actual investigation already underway. "

It is typical of the uber LIBERAL NYT to support the Clintons, the Clintons and their actions are red meat to the Republicans.  When they see Trump under investigation for doing far less than the Clintons, they wonder why the uber liberal Department of Justice is not going after the Clinton link to the Russians, the paid for the dirty dossier, the natural resources give to the Russians to control, and the fact that foreign governments gave millions to the Clinton foundation, and how it dried up once Hillary Clinton lost in 2016.   The Swamp in the D.C has its roots in the uber liberal nature of the Washington Establishment, everyone knows each other, they dine together, one is shocked they do not share the same toilet, the usual same rubbish comes out both ways.   Time for AG Sessions to appoint a new special prosecutor in to the Clintons, and time for that investigation to dig hard.

Lets Get Real:

They say history repeats itself, well it seems that the Trump Campaign did a 1968, in that year Candidate Richard Nixon got the South Vietnam Government not to enter talks with the US and North Vietnam for a peaceful end to the Vietnam War, this lead to the election of Nixon in a very close election.   The question you might ask why bring up that NOW, well it can be argued that the Watergate break in of 1972 was Nixon wanting to know what the Democrats had on Nixon and the events of 1968.   Let's look at the background of 68, LBJ knew that Nixon had been playing dirty games, but did not go public with the news as this could lead to a Constitutional crisis, thus he kep the information to himself, in other words he was making sure that Nixon treated him with respect in his Post Presidential years, well Nixon wanted to know who else knew about 1968, thus the DNC break in, and of course we have Watergate and the resignation of Nixon in 1974.    The actors change but events do seem to follow a pattern, one wishes those in politics knew a bit of political history!!

Lets Get Real:

IF POTUS is going to end the Russian investigation this is the time, he could move AG Sessions from Justice to Homeland Security, as he has made General Kelly his Chief of Staff.   Then during the August recess he could appoint his own AG and that AG could fire the Deputy AG and the Special Prosecutor.   Of course the Democrats will call for impeachment, this will be backed by the liberal press, if the Republican base stays with Trump it will be hard for Hill Republicans to follow the mainstream press view, thus this is the perfect time for action by POTUS if he wants to take action.

Thus POTUS wants AG Sessions either to resign or they will fire him, once the Congress goes in to recess the President can appoint man or woman who will stall the Special Prosecutor.   One can see the logic, a new AG who is loyal to Trump will make sure the SP does not go in to Trump's financial records to see if he has any links with Russia.  Of course the Democrats will have a furious reaction, but they do not control the Congress, the 2018 Mid Terms could be about Impeaching the President.

This could be POTUS being sneaky, he wants the AG to go but does not want to be seen as a hatched man, the idea one can postulate is that POTUS wants the AG to get fed up and leave, then POTUS would hire a new Attorney General, one who would run the Russian investigation and keep the Oval Office informed of any developments.  The Democrats have a problem, they have complained that the AG did not inform them of ALL his Russian meetings, on the other hand they do not want to allow POTUS to chose a new AG.   The Democrats still have not got a a smoking gun over Russia, and if they place too much pressure on the AG they could be helping POTUS.   This is a reality show on the big stage, and Trump is the Master of that form.

The US AG can not be sacked by President Trump as this would unite Republicans and Democrats in calls to impeach the President.  It was reported on the news last night that Sessions had offered to resign many times but that POTUS has refused the resignation.   The Oval might be minded to have Sessions sack his Deputy and the special consul, would Sessions follow such an order to get back in to the good books of the Oval Office.   A Pence Administration looks like the outcome, Trump will not give way when it comes to Russia, either he is a political fool or the Russians have something on him, either way it hurts the US.   These investigations could go on for years.

The Democrats are creating a New Cold War 2, no one is Washington on the political side will want to talk to the Russian Ambassador.   The Democrats have suddenly become hawks, a Russian connection to the 2016 vote has not been proven.   Of course the Russians hacked the DNC and the Clinton Camp, no one is debating that, the point is that there is no proof that the Russian action changed one vote.   The Democrats are furious with the 2016 vote, they were supposed to WIN, the fact they lost and why has been lost in the shouts that it was the fault of the Russians.   The is NO proof that the Russians hacked the voting system, even the Democrats are not stating that, but when there is a crisis between the US and Russia, the doves in the Democratic Party have created a monster, the hawks will win as they will be afraid of the present reaction.

The President is standing by Sessions, the Republicans calling for the AG to recuse himself should get a backbone, AG Sessions has stated that he will recuse himself at the right time, otherwise you have the elite press controlling what the AG looks at and what he passes to his deputy.   The Democrats want a Special Prosecutor so they can fish for any damaging information on Donald Trump and the Administration.   The President should whip the Republicans in the House and the Senate to be firm, the US voter does not care about this kind of process, its a witch hunt, it shows how low the Democrats have gotten, think if the the shoe was on the other foot, they Dems would be saying it was unfair RED scare, it's just politics at the end of the day.

And Sessions even got an inadvertent boost from Democratic Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill, who in demanding the AG's resignation initially claimed she never called or met with Russia's ambassador -- only for tweets to surface indicating she had, at least twice.  "

As usual the Democrats jump the gun and do not check their facts, a Democratic Senator tweeted she had never meet the Russian Ambassador only for there to be tweets were she says she is going to meet the Russian Ambassador.   The elite press and the Democrats have such an dislike of Trump that they do not care about the FACTS, and what is actually illegal, they are on a witch hunt, someday the shoe will be on the other foot, let's see how the Democrats react when they are under a witch hunt, of course that will not happen as the press are liberal and is full of fake news.

This is not about Jeff Sessions, it is about the hatred the Democrats have for Donald Trump, they will throw the kitchen sink, there is no actual wrong doing on the behalf of the Attorney General, he was a sitting US Senator and part of his duties was to meet various Ambassadors.   The fact that he meet the Russian Ambassador should not rise an eyebrow.   THE problem could he his answer to the question at his confirmation hearing, it would be WISE for Sessions not to play an active part in the FBI investigation of the Russians and the 2016 election.   The press and the Democrats are out to get Trump.

Given some of his past statements and his staunch opposition to immigration reform, I am very concerned about what he would do with the Civil Rights Division at the Department of Justice and want to hear what he has to say. "

Lets Get Real:

The Democrats should be tough on their colleague, but also keep in mind that Trump has actually said worse things, the Democrats should press Sessions on his view of civil rights and his views on amnesty.   As the Democrats are in the minority they will need to turn a few Republicans to block the nomination.   Thus in pure political terms, it would be better to wait before throwing stones, that could be for the Supreme Court nomination.

Lets Get Real:

The Democrats should make a stand on the of immigration, they should seek to get a promise from Senator Sessions if he becomes Attorney General he will listen to both sides of the argument, and have 2nd thought about a WALL between the US and Mexico.   On the race allegations the Democrats have to be careful, Trump has said worse and has been elected President, they still have to talk to the Trump White House and get their pet ideas through, thus diplomacy on race but firm on amnesty or as close as you can after the election.
