Israel vs. Iran - Iran Crisis

BBC News: Reports that the Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu at the UN has called for the UN to draw a line in the sand when it comes to Iran's nuclear ambitions. 

Lets Get Real:

As President Obama is going to win a 2nd term one has to ask what will he do in the Middle East, its easy, he wont have the power to do a dam thing, he cant run for a 3rd term, thus the Democrats on the Hill will distance themselves from any Obama attempt to force Israel to accept a nuclear armed Iran.   The security of Israel and the power of the Israeli Lobby is the nearly the only thing that unites the Democrats and Republicans, as VP Biden cant or wont run in 2016 the Democrats on the Hill will make sure that any Obama policy on Israel and Iran will benefit Israel.   Lets get to the political truth folks, the day after Obama is sworn in for a 2nd term, the candidates for 2016 will start to campaign in Iowa, the Democrats will be worried that after 8 years of Obama the Country will turn hard right, think in 2000, when the Country went from a moderate liberal in Bill Clinton to a Conservative Bush 43, then in 2008 from Bush 43 to a very liberal Obama.   Thus one can predict the same thing will happen in 2016.  All politics is local folks.

Obama and the Middle East

Guardian: Reports the following on the day of President Obama's speech to the UN, the article notes the following on the relationship between the US and the Middle East, " ..that relationship is now at its lowest point since the start of the Arab spring.. ".

Lets Get Real: 

The Middle East Street can smell weakness, and President Obama is weak, he is Carter Mark 2, the hand out to Tehran has failed, the lack of US leadership during the Arab Spring has shown how weak POTUS is, the Obama White House stated it was leading from behind in Libya, the PR of that was a disaster, the front guys in that operation was the UK and France.  The lack of support for the Egyptian leadership lead to the fall of a ally in the Middle East and the raise of the Muslim Brotherhood.  The assassination of the US Ambassador in Libya and the lack of clear direction from the Oval after the event has given a clear message to the enemies of the US in the Middle East that they can roll the Obama Oval.   There is an old saying, its better to be feared that loved, at the moment the US is held in contempt by the Middle East, and the fault belongs to President Obama. 

Obama and Iran

Telegraph: Reports on President Obama's speech to the UN, the article notes the following on Obama policy towards Iran, " ..also warned that the time to peacefully curb the Iranian nuclear crisis is running out...fears that it is pursuing nuclear weapons have led Israel to threaten an attack. ".

Lets Get Real:

This folks is political posturing by President Obama, the Oval has held its hand to Tehran for years and Iran has thrown sand back in the face of President Obama, there are endless talks, while Iran develop the bomb.  If the Oval was serious about dealing with Iran it would have agreed to the Israeli request for a meeting between the President and the Israeli PM.  It seems the Oval was more interested in doing late night talk shows, thus one can discard these comments by POTUS.    The Israel Government has to take action, if it waits it gives Iran the chance to develop the bomb and to destroy Israel.    This is not the time for appeasement.   

Liberal Democrats and the OAP's

BBC News: Reports that the DPM Nick Clegg has stated that richer old age pensioners should lose their benefits after the next general election. 

Lets Get Real:

One wonder does Mr Clegg not understand that its old people that tend to come out vote, does he want a Liberal Democrat presence in the House of Commons after the next election, thus far the Liberal Democrats have lost the youth vote due their supporting tuition fees, now they are scaring old age pensioners.   This policy suggestion is opposed by the Conservative Party, PM David Cameron has made it clear that he does not support the move, thus in the 2015 election both the Labour Party and the Conservative Party have a perfect way to kill off the Lib Dems as a political force, make them seem to the right of Lady Thatcher when it comes to welfare.   One can see the political advert now, old age pensioner in her chair, looking at a letter saying that because her house is considered a major asset she will lose her benefits, she looks at a picture of her family, she was going to give the house to them, she has only limited heating, she is not cash rich.   There is snow outside, camera looks in to her sad eyes.  Yes folks, the Lib Dems are fools. 

Death in Afghanistan

MOD: Reports that a "  Royal Marines Commando " has died in Afghanistan of natural causes.  Thus since 2001 the UK has lost 433 of its Armed Forces Personnel in Afghanistan, of that total it has lost 390 in combat/hostile action, while 43 have died due to illness, accidents and other incident.
