2nd Brexit Vote ? - Brexit Update 2 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

The House Speaker has shown himself to be a FIRM REMAINER, he will chose Amendments that allow for a 2nd Brexit vote, and Labour has shown it true colours by supporting a 2nd Brexit vote.  The Hard Brexit supporters have to unite with the Government to prevent a 2nd Brexit vote.   The will of the British has been stated in the 2016 vote, the London Elite is trying to prevent Brexit.  The promised Brexit of 29 March 2019 could be stolen from the public, if hard remainers can have demos in London, the hard Brexit supporters should bus in supporters.    British Democracy is at stake HERE!!.

The Economy and Brexit - Brexit Update - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

This is project fear by the Bank of England, the UK Treasury also came out with negative forecasts, the article suggests that these negative stories will help PM May and her selling of her DEAL.   One can only hope its the black art of politics at play, that would make sense of the May campaign.   The elite in London want to stop Brexit, this would mean stealing the vote from the people.   Those that support Brexit have to remind the voters that there was the same message during the Brexit vote of 2016, none of the negative forecasts happened.   The May is a BAD DEAL, but it's the only one in town, lets get out of the EU and seek a better deal after March 29 2019, lets take a half a loaf before we lose the whole loaf.

Politics is Politics, who are the factions at play - Brexit Update 3 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

When it comes to politicians the self interest tends to be more important than anything else!! Thus the various factions and those that think they would make a better leader are getting ready for action after the House of Commons defeats the Brexit Deal.   The blog supports the group that takes the UK out of the EU, returns sovereign power to the House of Commons, controls immigration ( it is an issue, that can not be hidden, a section of voters voted for Brexit because of the issue, the EU has funded great new buildings in South Wales but buildings do not create jobs, that why South Wales voted out ) also removes the power of the European Court, and allows the UK to do trade deals.   The UK was Great before the EU and will be Great afterwards, we got through WW1, The Spanish Flu, WW2 and the End of Empire ( that is the blame of the Labour Government ), thus it will be HARD for the first few years after leaving the EU, but in the long term the UK will benefit, we are the UK after all.

UK's policy on Immigration after Brexit - Brexit Update 2 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

This above sounds like a political move, it has been argued that that the vote for Brexit had two camps, there were those that voted for the House of Commons to be sovereign again, while others voted over the issue of immigration.   It can be postulated that the Government will bring out a strict immigration policy for those not already here post Brexit, that EU citizens will be treated like everybody else, those already here will NOT BE THROWN OUT, the British do not do things like that!! Also various sectors would be hurt by the move, farming and the service economy, like Hotels etc.    Of course this could mean nothing, if the Deal goes down then the UK might even get a SOFTER Brexit, with free movement, did the UK voter want that in 2016, one has doubts.   Politics is a funny old business.

The PM in Northern Ireland and Wales - Brexit Update - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

This blog does not see the point of the PM going to Northern Ireland and Wales, they are not the problem, it is the House of Commons.   Let's be clear, Northern Ireland voted to remain in the EU, while Wales voted out ( thank goodness for South Wales ).   Thus we have two weeks of a phony political campaign, the PM will try to sell her deal around the UK, while it is a dead on arrival in the House of Commons.   The PM has challenged Jeremy Corbyn the Labour Leader to a debate, that will be the most boring thing on earth, neither are great on TV, also Corbyn has not read the Withdrawal Agreement thus far.   HAS ANYONE but the PM!! There are rumours of secret meetings between Cabinet Ministers who want a Plan B, that will come out after the Deal is voted down in the House.   Of course the defeat could lead to a Conservative leadership contest, that could take two weeks.  At December will not be boring, well not if your a political geek.

President Trump is CRITICAL of Ronald Reagan - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

President Trump is not worthy to shine the Golf Shoes of President Reagan.   President Reagan had to deal with Democratic House throughout his two terms as President, and then deal with a Democratic Senate in his last two years.  The Gipper could make DEALS, he worked with the Democrats, he cut government spending, he had a major tax cut, the next one of that scale was by Trump,  he then increased defence spending, to such levels that the old USSR could not match it, he used American power Lebanon and Grenada, he showed the US was back after Vietnam.  The Gipper called out the Soviet Union by calling it the " Evil Empire "  In the 2nd term he had summits with President Gorbachev of the USSR, their Summits ended the Cold War, and lead within a few years to the fall of the USSR itself.   On the domestic front Reagan and the Democrats reformed taxes, and showed that the White House could work with a Democratic Hill.   As for Presidente Trump he has not won a 2nd term, he has been far to friendly with Putin of Russia, he thinks he can deal with North Korea, and his tone as President has not been Presidential.  President Trump will be lucky not to get impeached next year.   Ronald Reagan was a GREAT President, his VP won in 1988, neither Bill Clinton or President Obama could get the Democratic nominee after them elected.

PM May in the House of Commons - Brexit Update 3 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

The Daily Mail has been very supportive the PM, but even they can see the writing on the wall, the UK-EU Deal is dead on arrival, so what is the point of the PR campaign by the PM.   The article reports that the No 10 will try to get Labour MPs to support the Deal, good luck with that, even Labour Hard Brexit supporters have stated they will oppose the deal, why take the heat of supporting something if it is going nowhere.   On the whole is must be boring for the reporters, the next two weeks will not change the result, of course the PM could be going for a 2nd House of Commons vote, that might work if the Markets fold, but that is a great gamble, like the rest of the UK voters this blog just wants it OVER.

What if the May's Brexit Plan fails? - Brexit Update 2 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

Well the above is  NON ANSWER, will the PM go back to the EU, will she resign, will she do a deal with the other Parties, or will she call an election.  One is starting to suspect that No 10 is starting to believe its own press statements, that is NOT GOOD in political terms.   So lets see the options, if the PM was crafty she would go for a No Deal Brexit, that would frighten the Opposition Parties and the hard remainers in the Conservative Party.   If the PM followed that route then the Aces would be held by her, the EU would come running for a deal, and the Opposition Parties would be forced to deal.  The question is the PM a  good politician, if the General Election is anything to go by then the answer is NO, she is no Lady Thatcher.

PM May on her Brexit Deal - Brexit Update 1 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

The UK/EU Withdrawal Agreement and the Political declaration on the future relationship will not PASS the House of Commons.   Thus the question what is the point, this blog can not see the political master plan that gets the House of Commons to pass the deal.   However much the PM goes on the road to sell the deal it will not pass, most of the press is against it, even those considered loyal to the Government.  One theory is that that PM May wants the economic markets to crash and then bring the agreement back to the House of Commons, but what if that does not happen, it has been suggested that the markets might take time to react.  Of course the question is will the PM be leader if she loses her vote in the House of Commons, are we going to have a leadership contest, that could take a couple of weeks.   One just wishes that Brexit was finished, one way or another, we shall the result of March 29 2019.

Doctor Who Review - The Witchfinders

Lets Get Real:

This was a fine historical episode, but as the Doctor pointed out when she was a bloke she did not have to put up with been talked down too, of course when it's King James 1 it must irk the Time Lord more.  The episode starting with the Doctor and the companions thinking they were going to the coronation of  Queen Elizabeth 1, of course the TARDIS is not playing ball, one gets the impression that the TARDIS is not too happy with a female Doctor, she was the only long standing woman in the Doctor's life, watch the Doctor's Wife for more details.  The Tardis crew found themselves in the early 17th Century and Witch trials, the Doctor could not save a suspected witch, this new series shows that the Doctor can not save everyone.    It was fun to see the TARDIS crew join up with the King, it was fun to see the King have the hots for one of the companions ( the King was gay ) also talking down to the Doctor, that does not happen often, even King's outrank Time Lords.   It was also excellent to see that the Doctor did not have the solution at first, it took time, it makes for a more interesting Doctor, some of them have had a God Complex.   The Doctor was nearly drowned by the King as he saw her as a witch, but they short of formed an alliance to defeat the alien threat, and it was alien threat.  A must see episode, the Doctor and the crew were excellent as usual, but the guest starts nearly stole the show, more of King James 1 please.

UK - EU Draft Agreement on the future relationship - Brexit Update - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

The showing in the House of Commons this afternoon shows that the Conservative MPs will not support the agreement, that also goes for the Labour Party, DUP, and other Parties.   Thus the question WHY is the PM forcing the issue, it has been suggested by this blog and others that the PM expects the deal to be defeated at the first attempt in the House of Commons but will come back when the markets crash and dare the House of Commons to reject it for a 2nd time.   This is a very risky move.  The Speaker showed his hand by allowing critics of the PM to have a majority of the time at the start, so the Government can not expect any help there.    As a Conservative this blog does not believe in revolution or anything drastic, thus with major concerns this blog will support the DEAL.   After March 2019 the Conservative Government under a Brexit leader can have another look at the agreement, better to take a half loaf now than no loaf.   God only knows what Churchill or Thatcher would have made of this mess.

May's Week on Brexit - Brexit Update - Post Brexit

Re: Last week was interesting, a few Cabinet Ministers resigned and few Ministers of State, but so far no confidence vote in the PM.   Thus the Conservative Party is stuck with a PM it really wants out, while facing the fact that the House of Commons will reject the Brexit Deal.

Lets Get Real:

This blog likes to think it is VERY cynical when it comes to politics, but it does not see the political plan of the PM, she will not move and is facing defeat in the House of Commons.  Does she expect Labour to support the Brexit, thus far there is no indication of that, does the No 10 want the markets to tank after the first failed vote and then go for a second vote.  The PM is putting her job on the line for something that will not pass, it is like Lady Thatcher and the poll tax, ( this blog would put up a statue of Lady T is every part of the UK, a really big one in the mining areas of the South Wales Valleys ) even Lady T had to go at the end as the poll tax was a disaster.   What is No 10 up too?

The Florida Senate Result - US Mid Terms - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

Thus the Republicans have 52 Seats in the Senate while the Democrats have 47, there is still one race outstanding.   This result means that the Republicans can push through Trump Judges and confirmations for the Cabinet.   The Republican Majority Leader will have to listen less to moderates in his ranks, even more so if the Republicans can add another Seats to their ranks.  The Republicans can expect the Democrats to try and impeach President Trump, this will NEVER happen as the Republican Senate will never convict, their voters would never support the idea.  The political fun starts next year, the Democrats have the House and the 2020 cycle starts.

Doctor Who Review - Kerblam!

Lets Get Real:

This was another great show from the Doctor Who Team. the story was fun, the Doctor got a present from an international store ( you do not have to be a Time Lord to work out who it was meant to be ) it was Fez, that does bring back happy memories!! the Doctor is still having problems with working the TARDIS, that is good, this takes back to the original format, as the TARDIS said itself, it did not take the Doctor were he/she wanted to go but were he/she was needed.   The Doctor landed the Tardis and started to investigate, she and her team become part of the workforce, the Doctor took some time to find the real threat, it was not the management or the computer system, it was ( spoiler ).  Below the surface there was a political message, that modern technology is pushing people out of work, but the action showed how dangerous and limited that thought was, ( spoiler ).   There was romance, the actress from Vanity Fair guest starred, but the relationship never got chance because ( spoiler ).   One critic of the new season is that the Doctor needs a romantic interest, male or female, it just added depth to the show.

The House of Commons and the Brexit Deal - Brexit Update 3 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

The pressure on the Conservative Chief Whip just increased, it is his job to count the votes, he needs to be honest with the PM and the Cabinet.  IF the votes are not there, then the PM has to go to Plan B, the question is what is plan b.   The PM should be ready to go for a no deal Brexit, this would get the hard Brexit supports back in line, she would have to dare the hard remainers to bring the Conservative Government down.   It will be interesting to see the House of Commons tomorrow, how many MPs support the PM from within the Conservative Party and will any Labour MPs support the Brexit deal.  Brexit is like a Vampire, it never goes away!

Is the UK PM on weak ground ? - Brexit Update 2 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

Those in the Cabinet who opposed the UK - EU Deal will be taking soundings from their fellow MPs and Brexit supporters, do they stay and see the deal defeated in the House of Commons or do they jump ship. It can be argued that if the deal is going down it is better to be out of the mess, then come back and say they have the history but also understand what the Conservative Party and Country wants. Politics is a RUTHLESS business, one minute you are out of the office and the next you are out of office. It will be interesting to read what the right wing and left wing papers say about the deal.

UK Cabinet supports UK - EU Deal - Brexit Update - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

Thus the UK Cabinet has support the PM, it has been reported that 10 Ministers opposed the deal, it will be interesting in the hours and days ahead to see if ANY of the Cabinet resign.   The last time PM May got an agreement about Europe it lead to the resignation of her Brexit Secretary and Foreign Secretary within a few days.  The next hurdle in the House of Commons, if the hard Brexit supporters, and the hard remainers with the Opposition oppose the deal it will fail.   Thus the PM has to SELL the deal, that goes for the Cabinet too.   The Hard remainers will face pressure to support the deal if the EU supports the deal, tricky time for them.   Also it can be assumed that some LABOUR MPs will also support the government as they want OUT of the EU.   Is the PM up to the task, so far so good for her.

The DUP and the UK - EU Deal - Brexit Update 4 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

The next few hours and days could be crucial for the PM, if the numbers in the House of Commons does not look good then PM May might find that she is forced out of office.   The PM has to sell the deal to the Cabinet, the House of Commons and the Country, the deal has to look like we are leaving the EU not become its colony, this decision could break the Conservative Party.   The Cabinet should have a hard look over the issue over night, do they support the PM or break her, that is the choice.   This is the biggest political decision since World War 2, it has to be gotten right.

The Reaction to the UK - EU Deal Part 2 - Brexit Update 3 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

It will be interesting to see what the reaction is from the right wing press, such as the Daily Mail and the The Sun to the Brexit deal, if they support it then some Brexit MPs will follow their lead, on the other hand if they say NO, it could be time for the moving men to start taking Mrs May stuff out of No 10.   One hopes that the PM is better at one to one talks than she is at giving speeches, needs to be very good to get the Cabinet support her and for there to be no resignations or a limited amount.  Interesting few hours ahead for the PM and the Country.

The Reaction to the UK - EU Deal - Brexit Update 2 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

As noted in previous post the reaction to the agreed deal is not good, can the PM keep her Cabinet together, will the hard brexit supporters in the Cabinet support the deal, and will they sell it to Conservative MPs. The PM will face problems should many Cabinet Ministers resign. It will be interesting to see how Labour MPs react to the deal, will they support the Government when it comes to a vote or will they obey the Party line to oppose the deal. One can expect the papers tomorrow to be full of review and predictions. The Conservative Chief will have COUNT the votes and place pressure on MPs, AT the moment the Whip does not have a great job.

UK - EU Deal Agreed - Brexit Update - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

Thus a finally an agreement has been agreed by the UK and the EU.   The reaction thus far has not been good, the hard brexit supporters say they will oppose, the same for Labour.   The details of the agreement have not come out, thus as stated this blog will not make a comment in till the full draft is OUT, it should leak overnight.    As stated this blog wants to see the UK out of the EU in March 2019, out of the customs union and the single market, the ECJ should no longer have power over UK Courts.  The Houses of Parliament should be sovereign again, the UK should not be tied to the EU for more than is needed.   Northern Ireland should not be seen as different than other parts of the UK.

How much time is left for a Brexit Deal - Brexit Update 4 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

You take your pick with the newspapers, the right wing Daily Mail says there is a deal, while the left wing Guardian says time is running out.   The hard remainers and hard brexit supporters are taking their sides and dishing the other.   Will the UK Cabinet face a deal tomorrow, it could happen, everything seems to be up in the air.  The will of the UK voters must be followed through, the UK voted to leave the EU, not to become its colony!!

Is there a Brexit Deal ? - Brexit Update 3 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

Is the UK PM playing a good hand of poker or is she playing about looking for a solution.   The EU is saying one thing, while the UK Government says there is no deal.   The PM will need to get Cabinet approval before going to the House of Commons, she will need a campaign to sell the deal.  It could be argued that the PM should wait in till January and then push MPs to accept any deal.   Well there be more Cabinet resignations, it could happen, also at Minister of State level.    The pro remainers are playing up the divisions within the Conservative Party, while Labour is also divided.  Interesting few hours and days ahead.

Brexit Update 2 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

When you start talking about Cabinet Ministers and their consciences you know you are in trouble.  The PM has to get her Chief Whip out in the House of Commons tea rooms to place the fear of God in to hard remainers and hard brexit supporters.   The Chief Whip should also be on the phone to the local Chairman of the MPs seats, make them place pressure on their MP, remind them that they need to be re-selected.   This will be the biggest political battle of the 21st Century.   It hard to see the outcome.   The PM has to be firm with the EU, give a good enough deal or they could be dealing with Boris Johnson in Number 10 Downing Street.

The Critical Few Days - Brexit Update - Post Brexit

Re: Another crucial few days for Brexit we are told, I am not holding my breath, I can see the talks going on in till January.

Lets Get Real:

The question is will the whole Cabinet support any deal that PM May brings back from the EU.   The maths in the House of Commons is not good, the PM could need Labour support to pass the deal.   What happens if the House turns down the deal, that is open to question. This blog will neither oppose or support the deal in till it has seen the SMALL PRINT, the UK must be out of the EU, the House of Parliament must be sovereign again.   The European Court of Justice should no longer have any power of UK Courts.   On the Northern Ireland question the UK must be held together, there is no axing the Northern Ireland.  Expect on hell of a heated debate in the House of Commons.

Doctor Who Review - Demons Of The Punjab

Lets Get Real:

This was a thoughtful episode, the Doctor took one of her companions back to see her grandmother when she was young, the Doctor should have learned that mistake with Rose.  The episode took place in on the Indian - Pakistan border in 1947, the episode did not BLAME the British on the whole, well, it had more of a light touch, if you are interested then you should read up on the subject.   The Doctor for once got the wrong end of the stick, for most of the show the Doctor thought the aliens were the villians, in fact the threat was more human.  There was a lot of running, and the Doctor had to grant a ( spoiler ) to a couple.  The ending was SAD, the Doctor found out that she could not save everyone, time is fixed in some cases, a show to see again.

The No Deal Option - Brexit Update 2 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

Thus we can expect more of the above over the next few weeks, the Government press office will want to scare the living daylights out of the Conservative backbench MPs, THEY will also want to keep the HARD BREXIT supports on board, this would include the Northern Irish DUP.   The PM has to make it CLEAR to EU that they need to give her a GOOD DEAL, otherwise she will never get it through the House of Commons.   The ELITES are out to smash BREXIT, Democracy has to be safeguarded, the elites and the people will just  have to wait to read the deal, even this blog could oppose it if the DEAL is BAD.

Brexit Update - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

The remaining press and TV are running this story hard, Mr Johnson is the brother of Boris Johnson, but unlike the former Foreign Secretary is a remainer.   The HARD REMAINERS will try anything to prevent BREXIT.   The House of Commons and the Country should wain for the ACTUAL deal between the UK and the EU.   The DUP has already thrown cold water over the plan, it will be interesting to see if SOME Labour MPs support the Government.   This blog will read the plan before making comments, leaks are used to set an agenda.   It is nearly over voters, we will only have to wait a week or two.  Patience is a VIRTUE.

The New US Attorney General - Mid Terms Update 4 - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

IF your the White House you must be thinking you have two months to ACT, the Democrats do not take over in till January, thus in that time Trump could sack the Special Prosecutor, close down the Russian investigation, and dare the Democrats to impeach him, let us recall that the Republicans control the Senate, there will be no impeachment.   If the Oval Office was very ruthless and smart, it would act now, the Democrats will go through the roof but they can not do anything for a while, while the Republican can be expected to go along.   The Republican Party is now the Party of Donald Trump, and he gets Republicans elected to the Senate.

Sessions Update - Mid Terms Update 3 - Trump Era

Sky News - Live Reporting: Reports in its 8.01pm post the resignation letter of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, the letter states the following, " At your request, I am submitting my resignation. "

Lets Get Real:

The Oval Office must know be tempted to sack the Special Prosecutor, the Republicans hold the Senate, one doubts that ANY will actually defend the Special Prosecutor, also they know that the Republican Party is know the Trump Party, they will be looking forward to their own re-election.   The two Republican moderates in the Senate will have less power as the Republicans have increased their number, it could lead to an interesting clash between the House and Senate.   It will be interesting to watch the moves of POTUS over the next few days.

POTUS on the Mid Terms - Update 2 - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

The President was as combative as ever, having a go at the liberal press, that will go down well with the Republican base.   The base will be overjoyed that the Republicans have kept the Senate, they can carry on to appoint Conservative Judges, and could get another Supreme Court pick.   The Attorney General Jeff Sessions has already gotten the CHOP, then POTUS will pick a AG who will do as he is told when it comes to the Special Prosecutor.    The President can be expected to move to foreign policy in his last two years of the first term, the Democrats will block his domestic agenda, on the international front the Oval Office has more power.    On the Democratic side it will be interesting to see how new Speaker Pelosi deals with the fact that her hard liberal base will want to impeach Trump while those just elected will be looking at 2020, they will want to show that they have done something for two years, just going after Trump will not cut it in moderate States.   Thus we shall see how good a deal maker POTUS  is when faced with a divided government.

The 2018 Mid Term Results - Update - Trump Era

RealClearPolitics: Reports on the results of the 2018 Mid Term results.   The Democrats have taken the House with 220 Seats while the Republicans have held the Senate by 52, there are two outstanding results that could also go Republican, giving them 54 Seats.

Lets Get Real:

It was a LONG NIGHT, but the results followed expectations, even the Republicans gaining more Seats than expected.   The results showed two Americas, there are VERY red States and blue States.   POTUS got his vote out in these States thus the better than expected results for the Republicans in the Senate.   In the Blue States Middle Class women with a a degrees sent a rebuke to the White House,  thus some of the unexpected gains by the Democrats.   The Trump White House can expected investigations from the Democrats, even the threat of impeachment.   This could work for POTUS, he could say that he is working on the agenda of the American people while the Democrats are feeding their base.   The race of 2020 started last night, it will be interesting to see who the contenders are, will HRC run again, one has doubts, it is a BIG FIELD.   The Democrats need some younger, female and from a ethnic background, that should appeal to voters who voted Democratic in 2018.    One has doubts that any real Republicans will run against Trump, in less the Special Prosecutor finds something really damaging.    The the fun of divided Government starts today, that is healthy for US democracy.

Brexit Update - May Era

Re: Brexit talks are always at a critical point, before they are not critical, on Sunday there were reports that a DEAL had been done, but later No. 10 played it down.  The Cabinet meet tomorrow!

Lets Get Real:

The EU might have to place pressure on Ireland to back down, from reports it seems that the EU has made concessions, it does not want a no deal Brexit.  The EU has used Ireland to get what it wants out of the talks, the Irish might really think that they count!! If the UK and the EU can get a deal, then Ireland will have to go along, the EU has given Ireland enough money, the Irish owe the EU and the UK. Let's get this EU deal finished, even this geeky blogger is getting tired with the talks.

Trump and Iran - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

The 2018 Mid Terms could have an interesting reaction in the field of foreign policy, if the Democrats take the House, they will try to block or roll back the Trump Agenda, thus the Trump Oval might move to foreign policy, that has been the practice in the past.   The Oval Office has more room to ACT in foreign policy and does not need the approval of Congress to ACT.  An American President can go to war without the okay from Congress, the War Powers Act states that a President after a limited time must ask for Congressional support, as in money, but in that time the Oval is in charge.   The Trump Oval might decide to take on Iran, force the Democrats in the House to oppose, make it an issue for 2020.  As someone once said, everything is political.

Mid Terms 2018 - Update - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

IF the polls are right then the Democrats will take the House, while the Republicans keep the Senate.   In looking at 2020 this might be good for POUTS.  This blog is not interested in what you want to hear, from either liberals or conservatives, it gives you its best review of outcomes.   A Democratic House will have tons of investigations in to the Trump White House, if the Republicans can keep the Senate then they can block most, nearly all Democratic actions, the Democrats will part of the Government machine, they will have to justify their actions and policy , the Democratic nominee in 2020 will have to support a Democratic House.  Thus the fun starts after the election.

Doctor Who Review - The Tsuranga Conundrum

Lets Get Real:

This was another great Doctor Who episode, there was a lot of running, the enemy was rather a cute creature who eat everything for food, not people.   The Doctor was challenged at the start of the story for being selfish, ( Good to see the writers challenge the Doctor, did one sense sexual friction between the doomed nurse and the Doctor ).   The companions were given good material, Graham and his step grandson had a few buddy moments with a ( spoiler ) man.  When the Doctor asked one of the companions for a number between 0 and 100, the answer was 51, not good, it was the limit for a bomb.  The new cast and characters work well together, the Doctor does not need to be in every scene, in the past the Doctors had to do most of the heavy work.   At the end the Doctor and a General had to save the day, the Doctor showed her ego when it was mentioned she had a few chapters on heros, she came back and said it was a volume.     Thus excellent show by the regular cast and guest stars, who were given meaty roles.  The one down side is the news that there will be no Christmas special, this Whovian not happy!!

Donald Trump and Migrants - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

This is the rhetoric of HATE from POTUS, one can only assume that the White House political operation have given up on the House and want to make sure that they keep the Senate Republican.    This blog is from the hard school of politics, winning, but this is FAR to FAR by a US President.  One can only hope that the US voter rejects the language and supports the Democrats in the House and Senate.   All those that take an interest in US politics seem of the view that the Democrats will take the House, but the Republicans will keep the Senate, in other words the White House can block the House and its investigations.   My ruthless political gut is telling me the House will be a lot closer than people think, ( but then this blog supported HRC through 2016, but placed a £5 bet on Trump winning ) It will be interesting to see if my brain is right or my gut is right on the money.

The US Mid Terms 2018 - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

The general view of those that comment and write about US politics is that the Democrats will take the House and the Republicans should keep the Senate.  POTUS needs to keep the Senate as to block Democrat moves in the House, also if the Democrats try to impeach Trump the Republican Senate can block them.   When the Democrats take control of the House the Trump White House can expect more investigations, more pressure from the left of the Democratic Party to impeach POTUS.   President Trump has stated many times that he is a good businessman, well he will have to deal with Speaker Pelosi, who will be US Speaker for the 2nd time.  A Democratic HOUSE might help Trump in 2020, he can argue that the Democrats have done NOTHING, that the US voter to guard the economic success of the Trump Era should give Trump a 2nd term as President.   The fun starts after next Tuesday/Wednesday morning.
