The above is a mistake by the PM, she should use the defeats in the House of Lords to help her make the CABINET see that staying in the Customs Union is a good political move, from the short and long term. The hard remainers do not fear May, they might fear Boris Johnson as PM or a General Election, that is the only stick the PM can use on the remainers. The Conservative Party is split, so is the Labour Party, but the MPs on the Labour backbenches on the whole will support the Jeremy Corbyn when he states that the UK should stay within the Customs Union, there a few Brexit MPs on the Labour side, but not enough to counter the Conservative rebels. Thus the Brexit Debate has months to go before we are out of the EU.
