".   It will be interesting to see the political fallout of this action, how will the Republican Congress react, the Watergate case will be used by Democrats to paint a dark picture of the Trump Presidency.   The extreme left will want to impeach Trump, not really on the cards, as stated it's hardly two weeks since Trump took over, also the Republicans control the Congress.   From a political perspective the next few days will be very interesting.

For the Guardian this is praise for President Trump, let's be honest the elite media hate Trump, they are the official opposition for Trump, the BBC question was what you would expect from the BBC/Guardian type, a long question with negatives towards Trump and managed to bring up abortion in the US, in what way was that a concern for the UK watcher. Overall the President showed he was moderate and could be diplomatic, another good day for Trump.   On the British side the President was a firm supporter of Brexit, and thus we should get a good deal out of the Oval Office.

The Baltic States and Eastern European States will be happy that President Trump reaffirmed support for NATO, the problem is that President Trump has been known to change his mind, and should Russian under Putin place pressure on the Baltic States and Eastern Europe will Trump as the leader of the Western World come to their defence.   As the President stated in his first speech, it's America First, he does not want to do nation building or enter Wars like Iraq.   The Russians will be watching and waiting to put Trump to the test, or it will be Daesh, either attacks in Middle East or Europe/America, every Administration is tested, lets see how Trump reacts.

Thus another press that might not have any foundations in reality, it does happen in Washington D.C.   On the issue itself this blog has made it clear that it supports the use of torture in selected and needed cases.  It also supports the opening of black sites to help the US keep and question terrorists.   Also black sites are outside the US, thus should not be covered by US Federal Law, also when the US has finished with its questions for terrorists it can keep them there for the duration.  Terrorists do not have any rights, there only right is for a jail cell and the key to be throw away.   In this War on Terror, warm liberal hearts could get you killed.

This restrictions on some muslim nations is racist, there is no other words for it, how are law abiding people of these countries going to view such actions, they will think they are being targeted, the Countries with Governments will feel that they are being targeted even if they seen as friendly to the West.   Also interesting that Saudi Arabia is not on the list, as most of the 9/11 attackers came from SA.  It could be that SA is to powerful to annoy and is a ally of the US.  The new Trump Administration wants to build up its relationships with allies that felt let down by President Obama.   This is about keeping Iran on its toes, and showing there is a new President in the Oval Office.

When it comes to terrorists this blog is a hawk, torture does work, the terrorists gave up their rights when they become terrorists, every case is different, the threat of torture can be enough, but if that does not work then more heavy methods should have to be used.  This blog changed its mind after the events of 9/11, innocent people should not be allowed to die because an individual does not think it is moral to use heavy methods.   The waterboarding for terrorists should be used, black sites outside the US should be used to hold terrorists, for however long it takes, after they given up the information they have the terrorists should be jailed and the key thrown away.   THE above will look harsh, and is harsh, Western security comes first, morals can wait for when there is NO WAR ON TERROR.

POTUS is keeping to his campaign promise to build a Wall on the Mexican and US border.    The American voter see the Southern border as open to illegals coming in and the negative effects on civic society.   President Trump is doing what the people want, this is sending the liberal elite in the US up the wall, they believe in open borders, and see any Wall as racist and therefore Trump.    The US has a need to secure it border, otherwise it is seen that crime levels go up and those that are caught in the US and found to be illegals are let out again under the Obama Administration.  It does not matter if the above is true, it is what got Trump elected. The UK Supreme Court should recall that its the Queen in Parliament that is sovereign not a bunch Judges, the Judges are there to run the Court system based on Acts of Parliament, not the other way around.  This blog would have supported the Government telling the Supreme Court to get LOST, and to remember their place with the unofficial UK Constitution, they are to keep the Queen's peace and Justice, not the other way around. The Conservative Government should place pressure on ALL Tory MPs to vote for the Government, this is the time for the Party to be united and support Brexit.

In this policy it can be argued that President Trump is following the wrong policy, as an issue, abortion should be a private issue between a Doctor and a woman.  As in the norm in such cases, the man has done a runner and the woman is left to look after a  baby, thus it should be up to the woman to decide if she wants to keep the baby, there should be no restrictions on the timing for abortion, as restrictions can cause more problems.   One does not have to be Conservative or Liberal to divert from an Agenda, one just needs a brain and the time to use it, this is a bad policy that should be overturned by the US Congress in time.

It is in the interest of both President Trump and PM May to have a good working relationship, if they can agree a trade deal it will show that Trump is willing to do good trade deals that benefit both Countries.   A US trade deal would help May with her talks with the EU about the UK leaving,  also it shows that the UK will do what it takes to get the best deals, even if that means walking away from the EU.  The pro EU supporters will try to use the House of Commons as a way to block a good deal, No 10 should threaten a General Election if the House of Commons goes to far in being pro EU.

The pro trade US State Department will not be happy, NAFTA as the article states was started with Bush 41 but came in to being with Bill Clinton.   President Clinton pushed hard for NAFTA, he faced opposition, he got the former Presidents to support him, it was a major victory of the Clinton Era, if the talks fail it could be pushed out the door like TPP.   The new Trump Administration is keeping to its promises, those that oppose protection of the economy will not be happy, they will see it as a retrograde step, but their side lost with HRC. Politics is brutal.

IF the above is not America First then this blog does not understand the meaning of the  term, at the end of the day ALL leaders must care about their Countries, or they do not get re-elected.  Also it should be noted that when Reagan and Gorbachev almost agreed to get rid of ALL nuclear missiles, this was done without talking to London.   The White House staff had to get Lady Thatcher to come to D.C to show the President the error of his ways.   All US Presidents since the end of World War 2 have acted in the US national interest, it can be argued that Tony Blair go to close to Bush 43, thus his removal from Office.  Thus PM May should get close to Trump, but not to close, we do not want another Iraq.

The Police should read out the riot act and come out hard against violent protesters, its part of democracy to have peaceful protest, but once the protesters cross the line the Police need to be on their horses ready to charge.   The left will never accept President Trump, when their actions come to causing criminal damage they should pay the costs, the transfer of power is a symbol of American democracy, when that comes under threat then the Police have to act, break up groups of violent protesters and lock them up, that is the only thing they understand.

This blog thought that Bill and Hillary Clinton acted with dignity throughout the Trump take over of power, it must have been very hard for HRC, she had the Crown twice within her grasp and she lost both times.   One should suggest after some rest and recovery that HRC run for something, like Mayor of New York or Governor of New York States, that would annoy POTUS a bit.   The real power struggle will come when HRC and Obama fight it out to run the Democratic Party, as at the moment the Party is leaderless, the 2020 candidates have not made much of an impression yet, the election cycle never ends.   One can argue that since HRC lost again then informal leadership of the Party should go to President Obama, one can see the former First Lady not been happy with that idea.   Democracy can be brutal, but still the best system.

One must credit President Obama will the use of drones when it comes to taking down terrorists, its one of the few strong aspects of the Obama Presidency.   This blog could never understand while President Obama was good at killing terrorists he was letting them go from Gitmo, seems like a split decision.  One can only hope that President Trump keeps up the action, the Obama years saw the near destruction of Al - Qaeda and Daesh as effective terrorists groups, of course there have been individual incidents but nothing like 9/11.  The War on Terror is on going.

Thus POTUS is following the Reagan Agenda of a missile defense against rogue nations, the Russians will not be too happy, while Cyberwarfare will be built up.   The Trump Administration will follow a policy of " Peace through strength will be at the center of that foreign policy. This principle will make possible a stable, more peaceful world with less conflict and more common ground. "  The Trump Administration will be tested either through actions by rogue nations, such as North Korea or terrorists attacks, the new Administration has to hit the ground running.

The message gives the impression that Europe and the Baltic States will have to defend themselves, this will go down badly in Eastern Europe AND the Baltic States.   Putin's Russia will try to see how far they can push their power and interests, this is a return to America's isolation role during the 1920s and 1930s.   That of course lead to WW2.

In the last hours of the Obama Administration the political hacks of the Administration are throwing out their last arrows at the new President and his team.   The process of nomination and confirmation takes time in the US Congress, the Bill Clinton Administration had to go through a few Attorney General nominees before they had a confirmation.   In the Bush 41 Administration they had a problems getting a nominee through before they picked Dick Cheney as Defence Secretary.   It is a political game in D.C the opposition Party tries to knock off a nominee, just to show they have power and political payback.  Both Parties have political hacks, it's the nature of the political game.

It was fun watching BBC News has it covered the arrival of the President - Elect in Washington D.C, it was so biased it was nuts, one interview was about the psychology of the President, and then a writer said he was afraid of the results of a Trump Presidency.  BBC News really has to grow up, is the level of coverage we are going to get, if so this blog suggests that News Junkies turn on to Fox News, at least they are objective in their coverage, a Conservative edge but objective.     The liberal mainstream press has to get over itself, this coverage recalls the early Reagan years, in around 1980 the left wing Guardian had a cartoon of Reagan in cowboy costume and the ruins of the Capital Hill, yes dear voter, they were nuts at the time.   Let us hope we get better coverage tomorrow.

Gitmo should NEVER be closed, it should be kept open to take new terrorists, they are a constant threat to the US.   The new Trump Administration should carry on with the drone strikes, in fact increase them, get the lawyers out of the room and kill the terrorists.  If the terrorists can be captured they should be taken to Gitmo, waterboarding should be used to get information.   The lax Obama Administration was more interested in what the liberal NYT and the Guardian think, the main concern should be the security of the US and Europe, thus Daesh and Al Qaeda need to be destroyed, lives need to be saved, terrorists do not have rights.
