Rescued UK Citizens arrive in Cyprus - After Afghanistan

Forty is not a great number, the EU has taken hundreds out, well they do not have to cope with the UK's FCO.   There are more flights planned, it is reported that there is four thousand UK passport holders in the Sudan how will they get to the airport if the sides in the civil war start firing at each other, the US is nowhere is sight, Biden is more concerned about this re-election, this is Afghanistan ALL OVER AGAIN. POTUS is to old to be President, he is risk averse and only cares about black voters when it comes to elections, think of the people left in Afghanistan, thousands and Biden did not care, as Reagan stated in his Diaries, Biden is a demagogue, he will say what needs to be said to get votes, a suppose Roman Catholic he supports abortion in public, what he really thinks is open to debate.   The US voter deserves better candidates in 2024. 

The UK Evacuation Plan for the Sudan - After Afghanistan

Lets Get Real:

The most important thing is to get our people out, that no one is hurt in the Sudan, if our troops are fired upon they must shoot back, it does not matter who shoots, they must be taken out.  This is a risky operation there could be thousands of UK Subjects in the Sudan, the US has been very quiet, is POTUS more worried about his announcement that he is running again for the Oval Office. One hopes the US and the UK are working together and not mounting separate operations.  There are risk, but a UK passport should mean something, in the old days of Empire, we would have sent a gunboat up there to tell the people to calm down or face the wrath of the British Navy.   Our Royal Navy is much limited know and the only real threat that would be taken as a REAL THREAT would be the Americans.  Where are the Yanks when you need them.

This is like the Godfather 3, The sequel nobody wanted, so for the Democrats we will have an aged Joe Biden, and equal old Donald Trump, who has numerous legal problems, he has been charged in New York and  could face charges in Georgia, and at the Federal Level, and still he holds the Republicans by the throat, will no one really challenge him, there must be a charismatic  Republican out there, who can take the fight to the Donald.  One has to hope that Federal charges bring him down, and young fresh faced Republican comes along.  In the event of that happening the Democrats might think again, there must be other candidates to can come to the stage, NO ONE wants another 2020, as the Godfather says in Part 3 , " I thought I was out, bur they drag me back in again.  ". The US voter does not want a repeat of 2020.

Lets Get Real:

The PM should not listen to the FCO, they will slow pace the UK to do nothing and in that they will be followed by the US State Department, these Departments are run by Elites who never want to do anything. POTUS and the PM should act in firm manner and use the US Defence Department in the US and the MOD in the UK. 

The UK has already sent troops to Sudan to plan getting UK Citizens OUT, they have been showed up by the rest of Europe, other EU Countries have manged to get their people out, even the Irish have manged it, so why cant the UK, there is a simple answer the FCO should not be used, it was sending messages to the Sudan to UK Citizens but the internet is down there, so how are people meant to get the messages from the UK, how are people to be gotten out, the US might be slow, has the Biden Oval forgotten the lessons of Afghanistan, also Biden wants to announce his re-election bid on Tuesday, he does not need the fact that there are sixteen thousand citizens from the US in the Sudan and they might be needed to be gotten out.  Sudan could be another Afghanistan and another disaster for the US and the UK.

4,000 UK Subjects in the Sudan - Another Afghanistan ?

Lets Get Real:

IF this blog was a US  or UK citizen it would not be happy, it has been reported there are sixteen thousand US Citizens in Sudan, the US State Department has made it clear that there will be no Cavalry coming to the rescue, the FCO will do nothing.  It seems that POTUS is doing another Afghanistan, that is why POTUS is seen as weak, and why his approval ratings are in the toilet, anything really risky and he is hiding under his desk, to think that JFK and Ronald Reagan had that desk, Biden is following the Obama foreign policy failure route, he thinks that he can leave Americans behind and there is no political comeback.   At least POTUS is supporting the Ukraine in its War with the Russia, the Republicans on the whole are supporting the Trump Isolation policy.  This is how powers fade, just look at the example of the British Empire, we could be leading to the hegemony of China in the 21st Century as long as they do not invade Taiwan.

The idea of a Biden - Trump rematch does make this blog depressed, in 2016 and 2020 and 2022 this blog supported the Democrats, its natural vote is for the Conservatives, after Afghanistan it has become an indifferent Conservative supporter and does not want to support Biden in 2024, at present Biden is supporting the Ukraine and so is this blog, the worry is that Trump could win and withdraw US support and thus the West would also, and Putin would win, that could lead to WW3 in the future, Putin will try his luck with the Baltic States and then Poland.  The US has a population of over 330 million, if you exclude those that are to young, or in prison or the mad house, there must be other candidates out here who would do better in the Oval Office, there must be charismatic Democratic or Republican who can take the fight to Biden and Trump, the American people deserve that at least. 

UK Diplomats taken out of the Sudan - Another Afghanistan ?

Lets Get Real: 

This is Afghanistan all over again, the diplomats are taken out, good work by the Armed Forces as usual,  but the people are left to get shot, it seems that there are sixteen thousand Americans in Country, and there are many UK citizens also, the FCO as usual does nothing, its typical of the FCO viewpoint, do not get involved in the affairs of other Countries, and slow walk the process in till the press lose interest.  If you had left the Falklands to the FCO they would have handed the Islands over to the invading force.  The UK and the US should send in a peace keeping force, with a simple order, if you are fired upon taken them out, does no one recall Gordon of Khartoum ( see the film), a US and UK passport should mean something in these kind of incidents.  One suspects that POTUS and PM Sunak do not have the guts to bring peace to the Sudan, POTUS is expected to announce  on Tuesday that he is running in 2024.
