This is a very interesting article, it is not the usual coming out story, ,Mayor Peter is honest to say if someone has give him a pill to stop being gay he would have taken it like a shot.  That is a rare form of honesty, it is not the usual I am gay and proud kind of talk you normally hear.  Also the Mayor is married to a fellow man, he came out late and look at him now, he might just have the chance to be the Democratic nominee and President of the United States.   The article is realistic, many people whatever they say to polls will never vote for a gay man, their loss, in this modern age it's nice to see someone who is love and is loved, no matter their gender.   One hopes the US has changed and voters can see beyond the gay issue.  This blog finds the Mayor very chasmastic but its the issues that count, the Mayor wants to get rid of the electoral college, a typical left wing pitch, also we shall see over the year how the Mayor gets on when you have to be in Iowa and New Hampshire when its cold and the press are not quite there yet, when you have to talk to people in their living rooms, about domestic and international issues, that will be the TEST.  Thus far, and its early, good early showing by Mayor Pete, one day will try to say his surname!!

The Democratic Establishment money men/women are waiting for VP Joe Biden to get in to the race, the start for Biden has not been great, he got stuck with the nickname " Creepy " Joe over his touchy feely approach to women ( in a non sexual assualt way ).  It has been reported that the former Vice - President is waiting in till the end of April to get in the race, he wants to be the last to announce, as he is a former Vice - President.   The clock is ticking for Biden, the Establishment might work out that he is to OLD for a modern Presidential race and the money could go to Mayor Pete or Beto, they have charisma and are young, also not to much of track record for the Republicans to go after.   This blog supported HRC in 2016, it could never support Donald Trump, but his blog will not support a Socialist Democrat, as is Senator Sanders.   It is time for VP Biden to get off the golf course, or whatever former Vice - Presidents do and get on the campaign train, or he might find that the train has gone, and he has to start the first Vice - Presidential Library ( on the whole Vice - Presidents do not get Libraries, in less they have become President in their own right).  Time is ticking Joe are you In our OUT?

You have to give it to Senator Sanders, he took a risk appearing on Fox News, the DNC has made it clear that Fox is a No Go Area for Democratic candidates. After this good appearance, one can see a few Democratic Candidates might decide that FOX is better for them than CNN.   However you paint it, CNN has become the home of the left wing unhinged, if you are Presidential candidate you want to get to as many voters as you can, it might be a surprise CNN/NYT/Guardian types that liberals just might enjoy Fox, at least you get challenged, on CNN they just parrot the latest from the DNC and the uber liberal NYT.   Let's recall that Sanders was narrowly LOST to HRC in 2016, 2020 might be his turn.   Also as stated before, it is time for VP Biden to get in the field, or he might find that he field has been taken over and he is on the bench.

IF former VP Joe Biden is going to run, he should throw his hat in to the ring NOW, Sanders, Mayor Pete and Beto ( you know who I mean ) might be the three main candidates to BEAT.   The race has started very early, and at last count there are 18 candidates who think they can be the Democratic Donald Trump, what have they been smoking!!  With Sanders heading the monies count, Biden might find that he is to late, okay it's only one poll, but a trend is developing, you could have two told white guys, Biden and Sanders verses, two young white guys, Mayor Pete and Beto ( what is it with Beto and his hands, POTUS is right about that, he keeps waving them about, also as a comedy show point out, STOP standing on tables were people are going to eat, shows a lack of maturity ).   Thus Joe Biden has gotten way with  his touchy feely approach to politics, he needs to show why he in the front runner, OBAMA could drop some nice words about him, he was his VP for eight years!!.  The poor Democrats of Iowa and New Hampshire will have dozen of Democrats at their door, put the coffee on and ask them tough questions.

The uber liberal mainstream press will look for anything that is negative about the Trump Campaign in 2016, thus expect CNN to spend HOURS on the report even after Mueller cleared POTUS on collusion and the AG Barr cleared the Oval on obstruction of justice.   The LIBERAL press over the last two years placed ALL of its hope on the idea that Mueller would somehow get Trump, they have never accepted the result of the 2016 election, and when the AG finally wrote the summary of the conclusions they could not accept that, also when the AG stated that the Trump Campaign has been spied on, the left lost the plot.  The CNN anchors will look for anything that redeems their coverage of Trump over the last two years, the public were conned by the uber liberal media.

First thing, this blog is a firm supporter of gay rights, from marriage, to adoption, etc, a late convert but converted, this is my political opinion not a discourse on gay rights!

It can be fun trying to say Mayor Buttigieg, so this blog is simple, it will go with Mayor Pete from this time onward.  It has been nice to see a Democrat who states his religions belief, one that has served in Afghanistan, whoever serves in Afghanistan and Iraq is a hero to this blog.   BUT and of course there is always a BUT, will the rust belt vote for a Gay Mayor, this blog would like to think so, he has charisma in spades and comes across as a nice, intelligence guy, you can not fake that kind of sincerity, also a WAR HERO.  This blog looks at the POLITICAL reality, will very religious States vote for someone who is gay as their next President, my gut is saying NO.  As Vice - President to Biden or Sanders that might work, it will get the US voter used to a gay Vice - President and future President.  Whatever even people say in polls it can be different when they are in the privacy of the election booth.  Mayor Pete could go all the way, just it does not feel the right time for the Oval Office, of course people said that about Trump, politics is an art not a science.

It is of major importance that the UK leaves the EU before the Euro Parliamentary elections, if not the Conservatives will be smashed, this blog will be voting for the BREXIT PARTY if there are elections.  Also one can expect that the pro Euro Party, Change UK will put up candidates.  Thus both the Conservatives and Labour Parties could be damaged.   The UK Cabinet has to get a deal with the Labour Party, as long as the UK is out of the EU and does not promise a 2nd referendum then the Conservative Government should take the DEAL.   Then PM May can exit with grace as she promised and the Conservative Party can be LEAD by a firm BREXIT supporter, time is an issue.   The Conservative and Labour Parties leadership need a deal that gets most of their MPs on board, otherwise this could lead to long term damage to the political structure in the UK.
