As previous post, the above is also out of Stalin's playbook, forcing men to fight and shooting them if they run away, how debased and morally corrupt in the modern Russian Army, as we have seen it is very inept and is only winning CITIES like Mariupol because it has a bigger force and is willing to destroy cities to save them.   The Russian State is economically and morally bankrupt, the Putin Regime will do whatever it takes to WIN, use new weapons, also the threat of using chemical and biological weapons, one doubts that Putin is MAD enough to go nuclear, that would lead to WW3.  The Ukraine represents the old Czechoslovakia of 1938/39, sacrificed by the West to prevent a WAR that is coming. It seems history is never learned, humans make the same mistake over and over again.

This is out of Stalin's playbook, God knows were the people have been sent and if they can ever come back, the poor Mariupol has been bombed, 90% destroyed, the Russian even bombed a maternity hospital and claimed that Ukraine forces were there, NOT TRUE, as footage showed after the bombing.  The Russians are NOW fighting street to street, that is not helping in the rescue of 1,300 people from a bombed theatre, if any CITY represents the suffering of Ukraine it is Mariupol, the Russians are not showing ANY mercy to fellow Slavs, they are destroying a CITY to save the CITY.  The West must do more, but not enough to start WW3, that is tricky, the suffering of the people gets WORSE, at some point Putin will go to FAR and the West will have to react, dangerous times ahead.

Like Hitler who while losing WW2 released the V1 and the V2 against the UK, Putin's Kremlin is using its latest military equipment, a hypersonic missile, that cannot be caught by the defences of the Ukraine, in fact cannot be caught be WESTERN DEFENCES.  The President of Ukraine is asking for PEACE TALKS with Putin, the demands by Putin are pretty clear, the Ukraine does not join NATO, has a limited military, also the Crimea and the Eastern Separatists provinces are given to Russia.  The Ukraine President will have a hard sell to sell this to his people after all they have suffered and lost.  One could argue that that Russia is losing this WAR, that is clear by the fighting on the ground, but the Russians have chemical, biological  and nuclear weapons, and one is afraid that Putin is not afraid to USE THEM.  The West will have to guarantee the security of the Ukraine, the KYIV Government should not trust the Russians, it has to tie the WEST in to any PEACE DEAL, just in case Putin comes back as Hitler did in march 1939 to take over the rest of Czechoslovakia, in Putin's case the rest of the Ukraine.

It seems the Russian LEADERSHIP has LOST the plot, in recent speech by Putin he came across as unhinged, accusing his own people of being under WESTERN INFLUENCE, and that WEST was out to destroy Russia.  The Russian Leadership has allowed or encouraged the Russian Army to become WAR CRIMINALS with its bombing or innocent people and shelters, it has been postulated that the Russian damage to the Ukraine is around one hundred billion, and the Russians are close to defaulting on their international loans.  The Ukraine WAR has been a disaster for Russia, it seems that Putin has not learned from the disaster that was the Afghanistan War 1979 - 1989, also Putin has made Russia the number one rogue nation with a leader who POTUS has called a WAR CRIMINAL.  EVEN in the insane mind of Putin he must know that his head is on the chopping block if he FAILS, how many more thousands of people can you arrest before it breaks the system, how many conscript soldiers can you lose, it is reported that the Russians have lost seven thousand soldiers, how much money is the war costing Russia, no wonder Putin has asked China for some financial help, Putin was told what he wanted to hear from his intelligence services, someone must carry the can for this disastrous WAR, one can assume it wont be Putin, he is a coward and former KGB.

Let's get REAL POLITIC here, any deal is worthless, the Russians have to get the hell out of the Ukraine, and fast, not keeping the land they have taken, and also there has to be security clauses that make sure that the Ukraine cannot be invaded again, that means that the US, UK would have to be part of ANY DEAL, that they will protect Ukraine should Putin go back on his word, his word is worthless today.  On the other hand the hard part for the Ukraine President will be having to accept that the Crimea is RUSSIAN, and that goes for the areas in the East that Russian supported.  That might be hard to swallow, but it might be the price of PEACE, also that Ukraine will not seek to join NATO, but free to join the EU.  One hopes for PEACE but like the French this blog does not trust the Kremlin on anything.

The World NOW knows if it didn't before how EVIL the Putin Regime is, it will bomb major Cities, it will bomb buildings full of residential homes and at its most evil it will bomb children, NOW the Putin regime is trying to STARVE the people of Ukraine, at what point does the WEST say NO, and get food in to the Ukraine, the West might have to drop food in the Ukraine if the Russians are successful in surrounding the TOWNS and CITIES, an airlift would have to be protected by NATO as the Russians might shoot it down, the Kremlin would have to be warned, that the WEST was doing this, make it clear that any action would be considered WAR.  The West has to make sure that Putin is seen to lose and to actually lose, this kind of EVIL has to be stopped before it goes to WW3.

BBC News - Live Blog: Reports in its 3.51pm post the following, " Authorities in the besieged eastern city of Mariupol have said that up to 90% of buildings in the city have been destroyed by Russian forces in their daily bombardment of the city.....The report comes amid reports that rescue teams in the city are trying to bring out survivors of an attack on a theatre, where about 1,000 people - mainly women and children - were hiding in a bomb shelter.  "

Mariupol represents all that destruction that the Russian invasion has bought, nearly 90% of the CITY has been destroyed by Russian bombing, the barbaric Russians even bombed a theatre that was the last safe place for the people of Mariupol, even after the residents had stated on the ground that the place had children in the building.   There was also social media posts that showed that the building was full of men, women and children.  From report it seems that shelter roof held and thus so far it seems that there are no reports of any deaths, of course this is early, the poor people are traying to safe the people from the theatre while also being bombed by the barbaric war criminal Russians.  One hopes no one was hurt in the theatre bombing, it would be a miracle if that happens.
