Let's Get Real:

It will be interesting to see this vote, the House in nominally Republican, but some are very American First, thus can be expected to support invoking the War Powers Act (1973), the Senate has said no, so it's academic, also Trump can VETO any resolution, the Congress does not have the two thirds to override a Presidential VETO.  It will be interesting to see the mode of the House and the American people.

Let's Get Real:

The Senate voted 53 - 47  invoking the War Powers Act, it now goes to the House, it  be interesting to see  HOW moderate Democrats vote, it does not matter if the House passes the War Powers Act, as the US Senate has spoken, President Trump could VETO any future resolution as you would need two thirds of the Congress to override a Presidential VETO, the Dems do not have the votes from Republicans.

Clintons to face Contempt of Congress Charge - Update

CNN: Reports that the Clinton face being held in Contempt of Congress if they do not give evidence in the Epstein scandal.

Lets Get Real:

The Clintons wanted special treatment, he is a former impeached President after all, and she is a former Secretary of State.  They wanted limit the time they could be interviewed and wanted their own staff in the room to record the conversation.  What do Bill and Hillary have to hide, he has admitted his post office memoirs that he took  Epstein private plane to charity events.  The former President did not admit that he was in the swimming pool, or that he was given a message at an airport.  Whatever does Hillary have to hide, that is the most interesting, she was the Democratic Presidential Nominee in 2016, did her campaign have links with Epstein, its a fair question to ask.   The Clintons must get over themselves, they are like any body else, as we have seen the UK, the scandal has bought down a Prince of the realm and the UK Ambassador to the US.  On this side the of the pond the story is on going, and is being covered by all the Media.

Update: Sky News reports in its 11.41pm post that Bill and Hillary have agreed to being interviewed by the House Committee.  Thus saving them from a Contempt of Congress charge.

The Clintons are holy to the Democrats, will House Democrats really vote to find Bill and Hillary in Contempt of Congress.   This blog is not holding its breath.   CNN has been called the Clinton News Network in the past, it will be interesting to see if they run with story, also the Liberal New York Times.   With Trump wimping out on Iran, one can expect politics to return to normal, what happened to those Epstein files that Department of Justice had  by law to release.  Trump won't invade Greenland, he is not that crazy surly!!

The Trump Oval wants to get out of the Ukraine peace deal process, his base wants him to learn more in domestic issues, Trump must know that he could face a Democratic House next year.  They will mount full investigations in to the 2nd Trump term, only on Foreign  policy will he have a free hand, as long as he does not plan to invade anywhere!  The 2026 Mid Terms will see that start of the 2028 Presidential cycle, if it goes to plan, then VP Vance will be making many visits to Iowa and New Hampshire, the Democratic does not have a clear leader.  The Oval will want to invade Venezuela while still have control of Congress, also he will want to clear Ukraine from his schedule, that would go down well with his base and Trump voters for 2026 and 2028.

BBC News: Reports in its 10.25pm post that the US Congress has passed a resolution calling on the Department of Justice to release the whole of the Epstein Files, near the whole House and all the Senate approved the resolution.

The Resolution goes to the Oval Desk for Trump to sign, one cannot see Trump using his Presidential VETO, the question is what are in the Files about Trump, anything damaging could lead to calls for him to resign the Oval Office, we shall see.   There are a lot of Files, except the Elite Media to go through them all, after all this they will hope to damage Trump, any Betts on a President Vance.

One does wonder if the SNL sketch over the weekend has had  an effect on POTUS, ego driven people hate being laughed at by the Elite, it depends if there is anything bad in the Epstien Files about Trump, or pictures, he must know in advance, is it a resignation matter, depens how bad.   A President Vance is not off the table!!

BBC News: Reports in its 1.23am post that the House of Representatives passes Resoultion to open Government, six Democrats supported the move.

Lets Get Real:

The Democrats caved in the Senate and six Democrats in the House supported the move, are they running for re-election is an interesting question? If they are they will face a left wing primary fight.  The Resoultion now goes to POTUS for his signature.  At the end the Republicans won, but at the cost of having another vote in Janury 2026.  Politics never ends in Washington D.C.

Sky News: Reports in its 9.05pm post that emails released by Democrats show that POTUS knew about the sex trafficken of Epstein or was aware of his girls, the Republicans in revenge have released the Epstein file, all twenty thousand of the documents.

The question will this start the fall of Trump, Epstein is dead, killed by suicide, the trafficked girl killed herself, the one witness is in Federal Jail, under the control of Trump and his DOJ, and former Prince Andrew is now a commoner, not talking to anyone!  This in the end, if nothing is released then Trump should be in the clear (this is unfortunate ).   The Mid Terms next year will be interesting.

Moderate Democrats Defend Opening the Government - Trump47

Guardian: Reports in its 3.17pm post that moderate Democrats are defending  their vote to open the Government.

Lets Get Real:

As the Guardian points out none of the Moderates are up for re-election  in 2026 Mid Terms,  of the eight only two are retiring in 2026, so no political cost to them. Democrats will have to explain why they shut the government for 40 days and Republicans will have to produce their own health plan, if they have one.  They have hated ObamaCare since the start, and the subsidiaries to ObamaCare was due to covid outbreak, that is the problem with welfare, once given it is hard to take back.

CNN is showing its bias, they castgate the Democratic moderates in the US Senate, the cave in does not match their hatred of Trump, would rather see people starve than deal with Trump.  The left wanted a fight, the cave in has to rise the question why the Democrats Shutdown the government in the first place, will they gain in the 2026 Mid Terms, or will the news cycle have have moved on. A win for Trump, perhaps, depends how he plays it over the days and weeks ahead.

The Dems in the Senate just caved, they get a promise of a vote on Obama care subsidiaries, thar is all, the House is more complicated, the Democratic Left can bring more pressure to keep the Government shut, in till they get what they want on Obama Care subsidiaries, more money as usual from the government.  The next fight in the House.

The 22nd Amendment prevents a President running for a third term, it was done after FDR ran won four times.   It was passed by a Republican Congress, sometimes history bites you on the backside.  POTUS could resign and run again, the Courts would have a field day on that issue.  If not for the 22nd Amendment, then Reagan, Clinton and Obama would have ran again, Reagan was popular, thus his VP won, the two Democrats either saw their VP or nominee defeated by Bush 43 and Trump in 2016.  Of course POTUS could be needling the Dems and those on the left.  One hopes Trump is having fun.

Lets Get Real: 

Trump rode his campaign on conspiracy theories, Now they have come back to bite.  As this blog has been very clear it has no time for Trump, he lies as he breaths, on the other hand there is no evidence that he was client of Epstien, friend yes, thus it becomes a real political matter when the US House has to closed down to prevent a vote on the Files.  CNN and Democrats are  playing games, as would Republicans if the shoe was on them.  Vice President Vance might become President Vance, if there are Real Revelations ahead.

The Conservative financial hawks folded in their resistance to the Trump domestic agenda in the House.  The Republicans have been clever, the tax cuts come first, the welfare  cuts come in 2028, therefore the Democrats will run against tax cuts in the 2026 Mid Terms.  The Democrats need a new leader for 2028.

Lets Get Real:

Thus it moves to the House, it must pass unchanged to become law.   Any changes and the bill goes back to the Senate.  The Trump Oval will have to make sure that Conservative hawks do not sink the Bill.  THEY should sink it, the bill trillions to the US National Debt and cuts welfare to much.  Politics is politics, one expects the House to pass the bill under pressure from Trump.  There is 2026 Mid Terms to come, tax cuts are always good to run on.

Lets Get Real:

The Speaker won on the first round, there was some deal making and pressure at the end to get the two extra votes, Trump47 wants to get started on his Agenda, he has two years before the Mid Terms in 2026,  American politics is an endless cycle, it never ends!

The Republican Speaker needed Democrats votes to pass the CR, it was opposed by over 30 Republicans, next year could be the same, Trump47 better learn to deal in D.C terms, if LBJ, Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton can do it,  then Trump47 has to learn is own art of the deal.  IF Trump47 wants to renew his tax cuts, and get his domestic agenda through Congress, he has to deal with Democrats.

The Republicans and Democrats are playing games, neither want to take responsibility for the US debt, both sides have spent money they don't have, through welfare and tax cuts.  The question must be asked, CNN avoided asking, what about the present President, is he in charge or not, has he completely gone gaga, Biden has been quite, thus far, he is a deal maker after all, after all those years in the Senate. WHERE IS President Biden?

Lets Get Real:

If this result actually happens, the VP's campaign would be very happy, also sane Americans.  Nearly all polls from national to state polls show a TIED race or Trump or Harris ahead by 1% to 2%, thus we wait for election day and hope of a clear result, not endless Court cases, will Trump accept the result, thar is open to debate.  There could be surprises, one candidate winning the national poll but losing the electoral college, it happened in 2000 and 2016, who will take the Congree?  If the election is tied it goes to the House, that is in the outer limits of options.   Thus more polls during week.
