Lets Get Real:

Has POTUS finally smelled the coffee, that the fat lady is singing that he will be a one term President, or that he has seen his polls go down the toilet.   At least for the last couple of months of his Presidency he can act with some dignity and save American lives by stressing the importance that Americans wear a mask and refrain from going to bars or gigs.   One cannot see how Trump will come back, he is in Jimmy Carter territory when it comes to the polls, also any vaccine will come to late to save Trump in election terms, thus we face a President Biden ( either is bad, but at least Biden understands the need for some dignity )  The next issue for Biden is who will be his VP, it should not be a harsh left winger, that would give Trump a chance, but then only Democrats can blow a win, look at HRC in 2016.

COVID - 19 Update 1 - Health/Economy

Sky News: Reports " No spike in cases since lockdown restrictions eased - but there's a warning for autumn...The UK's national statistician says if people stay "super careful" there could be a "flatline" in cases, but calls for vigilance.  "

Lets Get Real:

At last some good news, with the easing of lockdown we see that there has been no spike in infections from COVID - 19.  Of course with the good news there is the warning that when we move to Christmas and winter we could face a two fold problem, those that catch the flue and those that might get COVID - 19 from celebrations due to Christmas.   Thus like WW2, the slogan should be " Be Happy but Careful, mouths without masks could lead to COVID - 19"   The main point is to protect the NHS and allow it do its great service to the UK.   One can say with some justification that 2020 was a bad year and well written off.

The EU without the UK - Brexit Update 1 - Transition Period

BBC News: Reports " EU leaders first met on Friday in Brussels to discuss the bloc's €1 trillion seven-year budget and the planned stimulus package to help countries recover the pandemic.  "

Lets Get Real:

At least the UK is out of the EU NOW, and will not have to pay to bailout EU States.   The EU will come to regret it did not do a better deal with PM Cameron when they had the chance.  It has to be asked will the rich nations like Germany carry on funding the poor States due to COVID - 19 and bad economic management of these Countries.  The EU should do a DEAL with the UK for a good trade deal, otherwise they will have to deal with the BAD economic results.   The newspapers over the weekend had two schools of thought, the Sun stated a deal had been done nearly by 80%, while the Times reported that the PM was accepting that there would be NO DEAL.  This week will be interesting.

It can be postulated that President Trump will be a one term President, he will join the ranks of Hoover, Carter and Bush 41.  If you followed POTUS by his tweets and self centred news conferences you would go around the bend fast.   The President cannot help himself, he places a foot in mouth every time he speaks, Creepy Joe might not be all there either but at least he knows when to STOP TALKING.   The reaction of POTUS to COVID - 19 has a been a political and moral disaster for Trump, he bashes the experts and takes a drug that he says helps prevent getting COVID - 19, this has been rejected by the science community.  The economy is a disaster, before COVID - 19 the stock market was high and it could be argued that Trump had a chance, this time he does not.  Thus over the pond, here in the UK it will be interesting to see who Biden nominates has his VP, also his Defence and State Departments choices.   Creepy Joe is a lesser evil to support, he might not be all there and his policy decisions over forty years when it comes to national security has to be suspect at best, well WRONG to be honest, Robert Gates stated in his book memoirs that Biden has not been right in four decades over national security.  At Biden will be a one term President, he is OLD, really OLD.   Thus after the madness of Trump the US voter will want some dignity back in to the role of President, after one term one can see Biden giving over to his VP, thus it is important who the VP is, let's hope its not Susan Rice, she fell on her sword for OBAMA over Benghazi.  There is NO WAY IN HELL TRUMP CAN WIN, and in pure political terms, he has burned his own lifeboat.

Thus the Russians have been caught in supporting the Labour Party during the 2019 General Election.   The information STOLEN was a discussion on the talks between the UK and US on a trade deal.   As Guido Fawkes points out with a large pic of then Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn holding the leaked documents, the hack by the Russians was an attempt to help Labour and Corbyn win the election.  It did not work!!  The remian press will try to make it like its the Conservatives that the Russians tried to help.   The Remainers will try anything to thwart a NO DEAL BREXIT. 

Unemployment in the UK on the rise due to COVID - 19 - COVID - 19 Update 1 - Economic

Lets Get Real:

The REAL damage to the economy will come at the end of August and October, the furlough scheme will come to an end, one has to ask how many millions supported by the scheme will return work, one can assume and even predict that most if not all will be out of work.  The service industry has been hit HARD by COVID - 19.  If there is 2nd wave in December and January the UK economy could be FORCED to close again, that would be a disaster beyond measure.   Also the UK Government is not helping itself by bringing back sanctions on those that don't follow ALL the rules of when your out of work, that will cause misery for those seeking a job, also added stress.   Also there is Brexit COMING on December 31st, the UK will economy will be under a lot of stress. 

London vs Scotland - Brexit Update 1 - Transition Phase

Lets Get Real:

The sole point for the SNP and Plaid Cymru is to destroy the UK.  Thus they will use any issue to cause problems between UK Government and the regional governments. After December 31st the UK Government should be looking at the possibility of disbanding the Scottish Parliament and the Welsh Assembly, they are full of hacks who could not cut it in London, and are trying to play the big leagues as if they had some right to be there, Welsh vote was very narrow, thus its fair to ask has the Assembly been a failure.  As an example, Welsh pubs will not be opened in till the 3rd of August, the pubs with an outside presence are already open, but there are doubts that they make economic sense without the inside being open.   Also the First Minister is a poor man's version of Sir John Major.    The only reason that the indoors are opening in pubs is because of the lunch voucher by the Chancellor, there would be a riot if Wales tried to prevent people getting a free meal with a soft drink.  The UK Government has to be firm with Wales and Scotland.
