Lets Get Real:

We can stop being in our knees and praying, the Pubs will be open at the end of May in Wales.  The UK economy has to get up and running, at this rate it will take forever to pay off the national debt.   Retail shops, book shops need to open, the people have to get over the State telling us how to live.  The COVID - 19 tragedy has shown how a virus in Asia can bring the West to its knees.   In future if there is a another scare let's hope the West reacts in a faster manner and closes down international travel before the virus can create another tragic event.   On the whole this is good news.

Lets Get Real:

IF WE the great British public have to have a passport for the pubs its the end of the World as we KNOW IT, this makes East Germany look better, I recall they did allow pubs!  What next, we have to cut down on meat to prevent climate damage, we will be rationed on how much chocolate we can have, sex will be based on a schedule planned by the health department.  The banning of petrol cars, of course they are on the way to do that already.  This all started when governments allowed University students to ban hearing from people they do not like, then the taking down of statues that might offend, or demonising some one who rich if that money came about during the slave trade, and thus the racist card is used, once your called a racist it is pretty hard to get it removed.  Just look at the Trans debate, if you go off the reservation of PC world you become an enemy, freedom of expression is no longer allowed the thought police come after you!!

Oliver Cromwell will be applauding from HELL that the Welsh Government is closing down pubs etc before Christmas.  All the fun from going out has been taken away, you have to que to go in, you have to show ID to people that have seen you for years.  This is through the looking glass people, it makes Wales as close as you can bet to East Germany we are turning Wales and the UK in to a prison, at the height of the World War 2  we did not close pubs, and the effects of pubs has been shown to be low when added to the other aspects of COVID - 19.  The voters in Wales and Scotland need to throw out these politicians, the Labour Party in Wales and the SNP have shown they have lost the plot. it is doubtful they understood the plot at the start.  Use your vote wisely next time, make these small Cromwell's face the wrath of the voter, boot them out.

Lets Get Real:

It seems highly unfair that North Wales has to take the brunt of pubs, cafes closing down because of the reckless action of those in South Wales.  One is somewhat shocked that North Wales Assemly membes and MPs have not pointed out that it is unfair, North Wales has followed the rules and the payback, we lose our leasure activities.   If the Welsh Government wanted to be firm it should have CLOSED DOWN South Wales, but of course the Labour Party is afraid of doing that because that is the base of its support, thus everyone else has to pay the price.  NOT FAIR on NORTH Wales.

Lets Get Real:

As the chairman of Wetherspoons supported Brexit through out the process we should support our local pubs.   It has been nice to get out and seeing real people getting along with their real lives, watching reality shows on TV for a while has been fun, but seeing people smile, having conversations and laughing is a must part of being alive, stuck at home for nearly 5 months has almost being annoying at watching CNN or the BBC when it comes to Brexit.    It is nice to shoot the breeze with other people, just talking about nothing, is part of being alive.   Let's hope we do not need a 2nd lockdown, that would be a disaster for the UK ECONOMY.

COVID - 19, 2nd Wave ? - COVID -19 Update 1 - Health/Economy

Lets Get Real:

This blog is confirming its call for a 2nd national lockdowm, whatever the financial cost, its better to close down everything for three months and come out with a vaccine, than the present course of closing down large areas of the UK, it is a confused message, and people being people who have got some of their freedom back will not want to go back in to lockdown.   If the whole Country closed  then everyone would be in the same boat.  Also the economy could be placed in suspension, and the effects of Brexit would not be that great when you have to deal with the results of COVID - 19. CLOSE NOW AND GET REAL.

Pubs to OPEN in Wales on the 13th of July - Health/Economic

BBC News: Reports " Some pubs, bars, cafes and restaurants in Wales will be able to reopen outdoors from 13 July, under new Welsh Government plans.  "

Lets Get Real:

About bloody time, Welsh Pubs and restaurants can open a week later than England, but so far no news on barbers, men also like to have their HAIR cut.   It can be argued that the Welsh Assembly does not care about the economic results of COVID - 19, they know that people in South Wales will vote Labour in the Assembly elections, they are very much like North Korea, they feel no pressure as the voters are DONKEYS, if you put a DODO up in South Wales under the Labour banner then they will get elected.    The UK taxpayer will bail out the Scottish and Welsh economies, that is why it was a BAD IDEA to allow for regional Governments, they are playing politics while the UK economy burns.   Of course to give the other side, the USA is now closing pubs that it opened, is the 2nd wave coming from, the US, interesting few weeks ahead.

The 2 Metre Rule under Question? - COVID - 19- Health/Economy

Lets Get Real:

The UK economy has become a service economy over the years, the pubs and restaurants will find it hard to do the 2 metre rule, also some EU countries are imposing a 1 metre to 1.5 Metre distance.   The PM should take a tough decision and scrap the 2 metre rule, that would save the service industries and save jobs.  If there are 3.5 million unemployed, it will be a major shock to the economic system and to the young starting out in the workforce.   Those that recall the 1980s, know it was a tough period, but then we had a great PM in Lady Thatcher, will PM Boris be able to match Churchill and Thatcher, on truly hopes so, otherwise the UK will be in big trouble. 

NO PUBS for a MONTH - Covid - 19 Update 1 - Health

Lets Get Real:

This will be a LET DOWN to the general public, it seems that the pubs have been closed more than they have been opened this year.  In essence the pub industry will be hoping that people will be so thirsty because of COVID 19 that they will rush to the pubs, even with the two meter rule.  It can be postulated that a lot of small pubs will never open again as they are to small and the rule of two meters does not allow for enough people to come in to make it economic sense to open.  The Government needs to get the economy moving, or the RECESSION will become a DEPRESSION, millions could be out of work, it has been suggested that we will back to the early 1980s when three millions people were out of work. Tough decisions will have to be made by the Government, the economy or health of the people, what comes first.

Lets Get Real:

IF nothing else the COVID - 19 crisis has saved the livers of millions of British citizens, they will not have had a drink in months, of course that all depends on them not getting beer from the super market.  Before the lockdown this blog made sure it had enough Buds to last for the duration, that is two bottles ever Saturday in till the we are allowed to go out again and enjoy life.  The preventing of  a British Citizen from going to the pub is a disaster for the community, it allows people to blow off steam, complain about the Government etc.    Also let's look at the economy, a lot of pubs will be forced to close, they will not have the resources of the big chains.  There should be peaceful demos in London, WE WANT OUR PUBS BACK!!.

Lets Get Real:

Thus a CLEAR message to drinkers, THE PUBS will close while the COVID - 19 virus is still about.   The Government is clear it will look at the issue every month.   The problem is that people will start to drink at home, that might cause problems in itself.  When you are out you tend to know how much you have drank, and when it's time to go home, when home you might need think what level you are drinking, and is that the same as you would drink on a Friday or Saturday night.   The Country does not need an increase membership of the AA ( Alcoholic Anonymous a group that helps people to STOP DRINKING ).   It is interesting to see how long the Government can hold on the line on this, at some point they will have to allow people out, if nothing else just to fume about the Government.
