Has Donald Trump LOST the PLOT? - Election 2016

Lets Get Real:

IF this blog did not know better it looks like Donald Trump wants to sink his own campaign, the remarks on the fallen Soldiers mother showed why HRC should be President, losing a son is more important than buildings, even this blog does not understand the strategy of the Trump Campaign, does it have one?  There is an old saying, if you can not say something nice, do not say anything.

The Russians on Trump and Clinton - Election 2016

Lets Get Real:
Thus it seems that the Russians on the whole have chosen their candidate and its not HRC.   The very pro Russian press see it as Trump who wants to talk and hit Daesh, while HRC who did the restart at the start of the Obama Presidency is more of a hawk.   It will be interesting to see if Moscow helps or hinders HRC during the election.

HRC Campaign on Trump and the Russians - Election 2016

Lets Get Real:

This is spin by the HRC Campaign, but it is accurate spin, the Trump has justed asked the Russians to hack the former US Secretary of State and the first female nominee for either Party.   One doubts that even Richard Nixon would go that far, correction Nixon went further in 1968, he promised the South Vietnam Government  better terms if they did not go to the Paris Peace talks, LBJ was not happy!!   Donald Trump has no idea what he is doing, the hawks in the Republican Party must be going up the wall.  Who would have thought that the Democrats would worry Moscow, it normally the Republicans.

Trump ASKS for Putin's help - Election 2016

Lets Get Real:

We are through the looking glass when a Republican Nominee asks for Russian help to bring down the Democratic Nominee.   Thus Russia must be afraid of HRC but less of the Donald. The New Cold War is all the doing of President Putin of Russia, a KGB man to his toes.   The lack of security for NATO and these latests requests show why Donald Trump is unfit to be President.  Out of a population of over three hundred million the US political system came up with two candidates with the highest negatives, a LSD trip would not be that bad when looking at the present US political system.

President Obama on Trump and Victory - Election 2016

Lets Get Real:

The above are wise words by President Obama, the Clinton Campaign should forget the convention and have in mind they are 10 points behind and have to win the news cycle ever day, the message should be that Trump is unfit to the President, that the World is complicated and needs a President who knows what he or she is doing and will not be bullied by either liberals or President Putin of Russia.   HRC has to be tougher than she has ever been before, she can not afford a day off, its trench warfare in till November 8th.

Does Putin back Trump? - Election 2016

Lets Get Real:

As this blog tweeted last night, NBC News has reported that the cyber attack on the Democratic National Committee was undertaken by the Russian military and the new KGB, are the Russians in bed with Trump, whatever Trump might say it would be in the interest of Moscow for Trump to win, the restart relationship that HRC started in 209 has gone back to to being frozen.    Trump sees Putin as an ally to fight Daesh, while not being that concerned about the security of Western Europe with his threat not to protect NATO countries.   That would be good news to Moscow if not Poland and the Ukraine.

The HRC campaign should stress that Moscow would like to see a Trump Presidency, as they know that a HRC Presidency would be tougher on them and would protect NATO.   This spinning for HRC does have its fun moments.

Bill Clinton to Speak at DNC - Tea Time

Lets Get Real:

The problem with a star player like Bill Clinton is that it depends on the night, the old hound dog can go and on and on sometimes, lets hope HRC takes away his pen before the speech.  President Clinton has to replay his speech at the 2012 convention that helped in the re - election of President Obama.   The speech has to show that HRC will carry on with the Obama domestic agenda but also give her enough space to do her own foreign policy.   The latest Gallup Poll has President Obama at 49% Approval, thus HRC needs to stay close to the President to get the African - American vote out, but also has to show that she brings something new to the table, it should not be seen as a third term for either Bill Clinton or President Obama.   The old hound dog will have to be strict with himself.

Another Terror Attack by Daesh - Terror Update

Lets Get Real:

The French Government has to get NATO to take action, if necessary shame the Obama Oval, the French and Allies should go after Daesh and finish them off, the more time they have the more attacks there will be, PARIS has to be firm with the Oval Office, Obama is on the way out, the French President faces elections, the French people and Western Europe will support the direct use of troops in Syria and Iraq.   The time for waiting is over, time for action by Paris.

16 Point lead for PM May - New Poll

Lets Get Real:

Thus new PM has had a good start, let us see how it goes, the Conservative right is looking at any foot dragging by the new government when it comes to the EU.   The increase in polls could be down to the voters who have always wanted out of the EU seeing this as their chance, the liberal elite are now calling for a 2nd Referendum, they think they can scare people to support the EU.   The Conservative backbench MPs should keep a close on eye on No 10, let us see if Brexit means Brexit to PM May.

A Profile of Tim Kaine - Clinton's VP pick

Lets Get Real:

HRC has gone for the safe choice, the liberal base will not be happy but then they would want a communist on the ticket.   As this blog is supporting HRC it can say on the whole its a good choice, a safe pair hands, not the type to overshadow the nominee, that is the same with the Trump choice.   It will be interesting to see the polls after the Democratic convention is over, the Democrats should get a bounce from their week of attacking Trump, it will be scripted down to the last full stop.

Munich Incident - Terror Attack?

Lets Get Real:
This story is developing, lets see what happens....This blog never comments on criminal events while they are happening, let see after the Police have the case in hand.

Trump vs. Cruz - Election 2016

Lets Get Real:

IF Cruz was trying to do a Reagan of 1976 when the Gipper challenged President Ford right up to the Convention then he failed.    After Reagan gave his speech the Republican Party realised they had chosen the wrong nominee, there is no way that Cruz will be the nominee in 2020, he has broken the Reagan rule of not being critical of a fellow Republican.   Reagan had class, Cruz would not make it as a Butler never mind a President.

The Left TAKES on Trump - Election 2016

Lets Get Real:

One would hope the BBC does a similar job on HRC, the truth and the Clintons exist in different Worlds.    The critic of Trump finds him wanting in every section, but then did you really expect a balance report from the BBC, the BBC and Guardian types drink from the same water, liberal, CIty based, narrow liberal minded.     This blog has no time for Trump, that is clear from its posts, but at least it tries to be objective.

The Donald Trump's RNC Speech in full - Trump Era

Lets Get Real:

The Trump speech was not boring, it was hard hitting, it is said you should wait 24 hours before making a comment about such a  speech, the reason to see how much of the speech your recall.   The main theme for this blog was Trump stating he was the law and order candidate, lets see if the rest of the US bought the speech, recall Mr Trump is no fool, he is a billionaire after all, lets see if he can keep to the campaign structure.  One has doubts.

The Labour Civil War - Corbyn Era

Lets Get Real:

Thus above shows the simmering tensions in the Labour Party, the leader who is not up to the job and his backbench MPs who are very worried that should PM May call a general election they will be wiped out.   As this blog is a Conservative blog it wants Corbyn in power in till the 2020 election, then the Conservative Party will win in a landslide.  The Democrat in this blog thinks there should be an official opposition worthy of the name.   The present Labour Party is a laughing stock, time for Labour voters to grow up and vote for Smith or see the Party split in two, it their choice!

The Conservative Bounce in Poll - May Era

Lets Get Real:

If other polls show the Conservatives with the same bounce it might be a good idea for PM May to go to the Country.   The Conservative Party is united, well best it's going to be and the Labour Party is in a state of civil war.   The election period should be short, only about three weeks, the Labour Party would be a wreck, it's leader and its MPs are at war, and they are having a leadership contest, perfect for a general election.   Let us see other polls.

Brexit and Germany - May Era

Lets Get Real:

The last Conservative Government under David Cameron did not think it was necessary to have a Plane B should the UK vote to leave the EU.   Thus the May Government needs time to come up with aims and objectives.   The process needs time to work on the British side, those that wanted to leave the EU have been given top jobs in government to come up with a plan, the Cabinet Committees that deal with issue will have the PM as chairwoman.  Those on the Conservative backbenches should make sure that the Government does not take forever to come up with a plan, the UK should be out of the EU by the time of the 2020 Election.

May on those that Oppose Trident - May Era

Telegraph - Live Reporting: Reports the following in its 5.29pm post, the PM answering a question from a Green MP, if nuclear weapons bought security, should no other Countries also have them, the PM stated, " “No, I don’t accept that at all and I have say to the honourable lady that sadly she and some members of the Labour Party seem to be the first to defend the country’s enemies and the last to actually accept the capabilities that we need."

Lets Get Real:

Mrs May is not taking any prisoners, she is being tough on national security, that will appeal to the Conservative Party and voters alike.    The Labour Party are split and the smaller Parties ALL go left.  It will be interesting in 2020 election how much defence comes up and how much it used to clobber the Labour Party.   It's like having Lady Thatcher back.

May on Trident - May Era

Lets Get Real:

IF your British PM you have to make sure that the enemies of the UK know that should they ever think of launching a nuclear missile at the UK , that there will be a nuclear reaction.   Corbyn has stated that he would never use the bomb, thus good news for Russia, North Korea, Iran, and many others.   If it down to stones this Country would and should fight on, we have saved Western Democracy enough times to make the right choice.

Trident Debate - May Era

Lets Get Real:

The May Era starts with a policy that brings unity to the Conservative Party and splits Labour, Corby is opposed to nuclear weapons, but a majority of his MPs are expected to support the government.   This is WHY Corbyn is a failure, he has NO authority on his own MPs, they do not like or trust him, and the leadership election will show how much Labour is split.

The Republican Convention - Donald Trump

Lets Get Real:

At least the Convention will not be boring, over the decades they have become PR shows and quite boring.  On the other hand its in bad taste to go over the affairs of Bill Clinton, we know he is hound dog, we do not need to be told.    Also using Benghazi is not fair on the families of those lost in Libya, the Congress has cleared HRC when it comes to her actions, one wonders can HRC sue Trump and the Republicans.   It quite different spinning for the Clintons, to my last breath I WILL NEVER understand why Republican voters voted for the Donald.

Labour's Poll Tax - Corbyn Era

Lets Get Real:

The Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn must be worried that the voters that voted for him last time will not be able to afford the £25 poll tax to vote in the Labour contest, he should be worried.   The Labour National Executive Committee are changing the pool of voters, they must be thinking that they had to allow Corbyn on the ballot but they can control the vote.   One can see this heading to the Courts, when the Labour Party does internal destruction it does it on a big scale.

A New Centre Party for the UK - Corbyn Era

Lets Get Real:

This blog has it doubts that the Labour Party has the courage to split, on the other hand the rebels MPs would have four years to build up a base in their local areas, also it will get funding form those that want a real chance of a Labour Government.   The rebels MPs would become the official Opposition while Corbyn would be pushed back to share seats with the SNP.   Nothing last forever, even political parties.

Trump's choice for VP - Governor Mike Pence

BBC News: Profile of Governor Mike Pence.

Lets Get Real:

All the Governor has to do to be successful is stay quiet and be Trump's attack dog.   The Nominee needs a counter balance, someone who acts a looks sane, and no hair problems.   The profile states that the Governor is popular with social conservatives, so his job is to get the base out.  If Trump fails as is expected then this allows Pence to have a chance in 2020, so he must be tied to Trump but not to tight, when the Trump campaign fails it should not take down the Governor.   Politics is a ruthless business, you take your chance when it comes.

A New Chancellor - May Era

Guardian - Live Reporting: Reports 7.17pm post the following, " Hammond becomes chancellor as Osborne leaves the government "

Lets Get Real:

Thus the old Cameron Cabinet is getting the push, Hammond is a better fit as Chancellor, how the manner of dry accountant, that is what you want next door, also not a political threat as he supported Remain in the EU vote.   Let see who gets FCO, Home Office and the new Department of Brexit.

The New Cabinet - May Era

Lets Get Real:

Is the Boris Johnson up for a job, lets hope Foreign Office, or the new Department for Brexit, him at No 11 might not be a good idea, hardly comes across as a accountant.   The media will love this, who is in and who is out, that is the fun of a reshuffle.

PM May and her Government - May Era

Lets Get Real:

The more you listen to the speech the more it sounds like something Ed Miliband would say, let us hope its just SPIN, the Conservatives will have to keep an eye on this PM, what would Lady Thatcher say about it, one could only guess.    Let us hope that Brexit means Brexit!!

The Press and the New PM - May Era

Lets Get Real:

One only hopes that Conservative backbench MPs will not have to remind the PM that she leads the Conservative Party, social care yes but not a nanny State, the Conservative Party is of the right, we want people to help themselves, we are not communists, as those in charge of Labour at the moment.   The main policy for PM May is to get the UK out of the EU.   The UK wants Brexit to mean Brexit, the UK wants control of its borders and who decides UK law, the House of Commons and not the EU.   On the whole a good start, lets see how it goes from here.

Sanders BACKS Hillary Clinton - Election 2016

Lets Get Real:

Thus the fight in the Democratic race is OVER, the question is will ALL Sander supporters vote for HRC, that is her main job now, get the Sanders people. make sure the African - American community understand that she has their side, but also has to show that she supporters law and order.    The issue of law and order has been taken up by Trump, the Democrats have to careful that they do not lose moderates who think LAW AND ORDER is the first job of a President.   It has to be said that Trump sounded rational, even Presidential when he was going through his law and order part of the speech, the Democrats have to careful they do not write off the Trump, his is a billionaire for a reason, just a reminder!

General Election in 2016? - May Era

Lets Get Real:

The Labour is broke, the leader is at war with the MPs, Shadow Cabinet Ministers have to do double jobs, and even then that does not cover a working opposition.   The hard left of the Labour Party is more interested in destroying the Labour Party than in giving up leadership. This can only end when the Labour Party splits, its only a matter of time NOT IF.    The moderates with Labour should form a Center Party, then we can have a effective Opposition.  The Labour Party either reforms or it goes the way of the dodo, it's their choice, do the MPs have the guts to follow through.

The Labour Leadership Contest - Update

Lets Get Real:

Politics is a brutal business, just when Angela Eagle started her leadership bid the political press was watching the outcome of the Conservative contest, the succession of Prime Minister Elect Theresa May as the next UK PM.   Thus when Ms Eagle called on the press, BBC or ITV they were nowhere in sight.    As the Conservative contest closes the Labour one might have another candidate tomorrow.    If the ruling body of the Labour Party allows Jeremy Corbyn to be on the ballot  without the need for 51 votes then he will win, and the stand off will carry on, this could split the Labour Party.   As always the Conservative lead while the Labour Party falters on.

A Profile of the next UK PM - Theresa May

BBC News: Has a profile of the next UK PM Theresa May.

Lets Get Real:

Thus the UK will have its 2nd female PM, the first being of course Lady Thatcher.  It has been stated in the reviews that May does not like to whine and dine with fellow MPs, a fault that bought down Mrs T in the end, also she does not need much sleep and is very much in to detail, two aspects also shared by Mrs T.   If Theresa May is half the leader that Thatcher was the UK is in good hands.  Let us hope that May means it when she says that she understand what the UK voted for in the referendum, that out means out of the EU.

Is Corbyn Devious ? - Labour Leadership Contest

Lets Get Real:
Thus Labour starts to tear itself apart, this Conservative blog wants Jeremy Corbyn to stay forever as Labour Leader, then the Conservative Party will walk any election.   The Conservative contest in getting rougher, but that is part of the process, at this stage this blog is not supporting either candidate, lets see how they shape up during the election process.

Jeremy Corbyn in his own WORDS - Labour Leadership Contest

Lets Get Real:

Jeremy Corbyn in his own words.   Is Corbyn  clever or foolish, sane or mad, YOU DECIDE!

Is Jeremy Corbyn MAD ? - Labour Leadership Contest

Lets Get Real:

It is a serious question, is Corbyn delusional or mad, would he pass a psych test, who stays on when nearly all your MPs and MEPs want you to go, is the ego of Corbyn more important than the Labour Party, the UK system only works well when you have a Opposition that could be a government, does anyone think at this minute that Labour would make a good government,  as this crisis carries on.    One can only hope that the Labour's ruling body makes it clear that Corbyn needs 51 supporters before he gets on to the ballot, if that happens then Corbyn is toast, that would be good for the Labour Party and the Country.

Eagle STANDS for Labour Leadership - Labour Crisis

Lets Get Real:

Thus the crisis point has come, if Eagle wins then the Labour Party will be united, she is a left winger but might connect better with the voters, on the other hand should Corbyn win the Labour MPs will have a choice, support him for form another Political Party.  The actual result is most likely a Corbyn victory and MPs walking away, someone has to go!!

President Obama KEEPS US Troops in Afghanistan - Historical Record

Lets Get Real:

President Obama on military advice keeps troops levels in Afghanistan at 8,400.   Thus the War will be a problem for the next POTUS.

Blair being honest or a Master ACTOR - After Iraq Inquiry

Lets Get Real:
Tony Blair seems to thrive when he is under pressure, yes he can look like a broken man sometimes, but then there comes the second wind and he defends his position.   AS the Inquiry is now over the headlines will fade, events change as a old British PM said.   Thus one can expect Blair to use his political powers to get rid of Jeremy Corbyn, the Labour Party needs a new Tony Blair and must learn to love the old one, or at least like.   Time is always going forward, events, events.

Suez, Iraq - Eden, Blair - Failed Foreign Policy

Lets Get Real:

Let us recall that Tony Blair won a general election in 2005, that was two years after the War started,  he was only pushed out by Gordon Brown in 2007, at least he had a year's grace period, Lady Thatcher had just five days.   THIS blog will never understand how Labour can turn its back on Blair, he won them three election after being out of power for nearly 18 years.  The Iraq War was a mistake based on faulty information, that can happen to any leader, as suggested in my last post, Iraq will not be the last War that he UK gets in too, there will be others, memories fade, bitter memories even fade, the UK acted in Libya under PM Cameron, at least Cameron did not send in ground troops,  then there is always Syria, this blog has argued that it will take ground troops to get rid of Daesh in Syria.  This blog saw this morning that President Obama is keeping eight thousand four troops in Afghanistan, and wants NATO to add more, crisis points change, Blair did the best he could, you can ask nothing more of a leader.

Blair Sorry for Iraq, kind of, - Iraq Inquiry 2

Lets Get Real:

In the day this blog did a Masters course on intelligence and national security, it can be argued that ALL the intelligence agencies before the Iraq War thought the Iraqi Regime had WMD.  The problem with intelligence is that it can be subjective, LBJ used the suspected attack on a US Ship as a reason to attack North Vietnam, that it might not have happened only become clear later, the President never said sorry for the bombing and its bogus reason for the bombing.   Thus when you are doing PR politics with the used of intelligence it is a given that leader will stress its main strong points, Blair wanted to be with Bush 43 when it came to Iraq, the Government was warned by those against the War that it would be a mistake, the Blair Government went to war with Iraq, based on political self interest and the believe that the WMD was there, Tony Blair's only fault was to allow his need to be with the US in the War even if the information was not 100%, sometimes you roll the dice and you win, sometimes you do not, and in this case Blair was not lucky.

The Iraq Inquiry - The Verdict on Iraq

Lets Get Real:

The verdict on the Iraq War is pretty severe on Tony Blair, the press are going with a July 28th memo from Blair to Bush, the memo stated the following,"I will be with you, whatever...", thus those that think Blair should face a War crimes trial will be pushing that, while his defenders, will states that the Inquiry does not say that Blair lied to Parliament.    The UK acted on flawed information from intelligence, the UK wanted to part of the process, thus they had to have troops on the ground, the US did go down the UN route as suggested by Blair, in the end that was blocked by France stating it would veto any resolution.    Thus the French undermined the UN not the the UK.    This blog supported the Iraq War and still does, an evil regime was overthrown, and the people of Iraq were given a chance at freedom, democracy does not always comes with a nice ribbon and covering, sometimes it has to be fought for and there are those that do not make it, the UK Armed Forces did the best they could, the lack of equipment is down to the MOD.

Iraq Inquiry - The Result

The Iraq Inquiry: Read the Report as it is published ON LINE.

Lets Get Real:

Will the Inquiry be fair and be critical of its subject, or like HRC web server, will it be a whitewash, the time has come to tell.

The May Bandwagon Carries on - After Cameron

Lets Get Real:

IF the Conservative Party was smart and did not have big egos the race could be over TONIGHT, it looks like May has most of the Conservative MPs, the only way for Gove to win would be a vote of the members, that does not look like a good prospect, the political knifing of the former Mayor of London has shown Gove in a BAD LIGHT, the political knifer never gets the Crown.    Thus one can expect another round, with Gove being forced out and with May and Leadsom going before Conservative Members, at least you know it will be a woman PM, either way, the Labour Party is going to look old and sexist.

Crabb OUT of Conservative Race - After Cameron

Lets Get Real:

It looks like bar the shouting that it will be Theresa May as the next UK PM.   IF she holds the lead in the second round and even gain votes it can be argued that the Country is in such a crisis point we do not have the time for a two month delay, that the other contenders should step down and allow May to become PM.   Of course the Conservative members might prefer Leadsom, a new face, a new broom so to speak.   INTERESTING week ahead for the Conservative Party and the UK.   A note for the future, Crabb is the face of the future of the Conservative Party, if not quite yet!

The Conservative Party - 1st Round of Voting

Lets Get Real:

It looks like its a race for May to lose, the former Chancellor, Ken Clark stated she was a bloody difficult woman, well that is good news, you want a tough cookie in No 10.  The race is not over, there is an election on Thursday and then next Tuesday in till we get down to two candidates, this blog thinks May should win, if she does lets hope she is like Margaret Thatcher and stays as long.
