Lets Get Real:

The Germans will have to pressure France if they follow through with their threat to veto a trade deal between the UK and the EU over FISH.  Paris it seems does not understand that they are UK FISH in UK WATERS, thus our fish, not France's or anyone else.   The Germans might have to give financial support to French fishermen who will be barred from UK WATERS.  That will go down well with the German taxpayer - NOT.  They are already promised billions to help the EU with COVID - 19.  The UK PM has to be firm with the EU over this, our fish are a national symbol, it shows we are a sovereign nation again.  The French better smell the coffee or they will suffer in economic terms.

Lets Get Real:

This could be the EU showing nerves, that it will not get a deal and French fisherman will be banned from UK waters.   In essence the EU is trying to blackmail the UK Government to give more when the UK Government has been very CLEAR, the future of UK fish will be decided by the UK Government and support for economic sectors will be down to the British Government not Brussels.  It can be argued that the UK should go for a NO DEAL BREXIT, that is what the UK voter wants, it has sent this message twice, time for the PM to deliver on this message.   The red wall Labour seats that fell to the Conservatives was down to the message of getting BREXIT DONE.

Lets Get Real:

This is the REMAINER Guardian pushing Project Fear again, during the vote in 2016 the Government and the then Chancellor tried project fear, the economy would go over a cliff, well that cliff came with COVID - 19, the UK will face the worse recession since the start of the 18th Century.   Thus one has to ask how worse can it be if the UK goes for a CLEAN BREAK, combine this with a 2nd wave of the COVID - 19 Europe and the UK face either doing a deal to save some of the economy or the EU will allow its agenda to be pushed beyond its limits over the French and FISH.   This blog is calling for a CLEAN BREAK, allow the UK to become a sovereign nation again. 

2nd Wave of COVID - 19 - COVID - 19 Update - Health/Economy

Lets Get Real:

The question is simple, what matters most the economy or health of the general population.  If it is the HEALTH of the people then the UK Government should consider closing down the entire of the UK, that also means Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.   On the other hand if the economic cost is to much for a total lockdown then the Government should consider more extreme local lockdowns, preventing people from leaving areas as done in Europe.   Also enforce the use of masks, even if they are annoying to wear if you have glasses.   This blog would support a three month lockdown of the entire UK, just to finish off the virus, the economic costs will be heavy, it will be like war time, but it might be the only answer.

Lets Get Real:

This blog has concerns, what is the 60% we are winning and as the article notes, what is the 40% we are giving away to the EU.  The Mail has gone from a BREXIT paper under its previous Editor to a pro Remain paper.   Any new DEAL, has to keep UK FISH a UK matter, the same goes for support for companies, that might hinder the EU.  One hopes that Conservative MPs wont buckle and pass a deal that is the UK leaving the EU in name only.  Boris Johnson won a great victory in 2019 by promising to get Brexit done, well this is his time.   Of course the UK Government has to deal with COVID - 19, but that can not be used as a way to keep the UK linked to the EU, faint hear never won a victory, this is the time to go for a WIN.  The UK a sovereign nation again.

You can not trust the Russians, they broke the INF Treaty on numerous instances and tried under the Clinton Administration to get the Treaty mothballed.   Then when President Trump revoked the Treaty they were highly critical.   The Russian Bear is always two faced when it comes to the West.   One hand they do a deal with Adolf Hitler and then expect thanks for resisting him when he invaded in 1941.   In 1980s Reagan supported SDI, a space based defence for the US, it was never funded correctly after Reagan left office, the left did not want to upset the Russians, well Russians have gotten the same idea as the great Ronald Reagan, move the theatre of War in to space and hobble the West from Space.    The US Congress should fund a new SDI scheme, one that will place the US ahead of the Russians, of course with an election coming up the Democrats will not support the scheme, the Trump Oval if it had any credibility would suggest the policy, but Trump is seen as being in bed with Putin.  Let's hope the US does not regret this lack of action in Space.

Lets Get Real:

It is interesting that both Sky News ( Pro Remain Home ) and Guido ( more on the Brexit Side ) agree that it is interesting to read between the lines, this blog would not be quick to dismiss the importance of fish to the EU, the French have fished in British waters for years, and so do other EU Countries, there hair will be on fire if the EU has give up one of their most important demands, these leaders will not want to be seen as having folded to the British over fish.   Thus sometimes it is what it is on the box, that the UK might be heading for a NO DEAL BREXIT on December 31st, that would follow the demands of the UK voter, we want out, and we have voted twice for that, how many times does LONDON need to hear that.
