Obama vs. US Senate - Egypt Crisis

Guardian - Egypt Live: Reports the following in its 8.17pm post, " Two Republican senators are calling on the Obama administration to suspend US aid amid spiraling violence in Egypt. ".

Lets Get Real:

The Oval has a problem folks, today as reported there were 60 deaths in Egypt, a few days days ago it was over 600, and the response of the Oval, well weak would be a understatement, so what does the Oval do, it could make it self feel good by cutting off military support to Egypt, and the reaction, the US would lose influence and the Gulf States would pick up the short fall, or even worse the Russians, the US needs the Generals to keep the peace deal with Israel, fight the Al Qaeda terrorists that have started to attack the Egyptian Army and make sure the Suez Canal is secure.    In other words the Egyptian Army has most of the Ace cards, the Oval will have to make sure the US Congress does not cut off support for Egypt, that the new Cairo Government starts talks to bring about democratic Egypt, but also keep the Muslim Brotherhood in its new box.    There are going to be more deaths in Egypt folks, its the lesser evil choice in this deadly game, its not nice, but its the real world. 

A Weak President, A Weak Reaction - Obama's Egypt Crisis

This is the kind of weak response you get from a weak President, yesterday President Obama stated the following, " Let me make one final point.  America cannot determine the future of Egypt.  That's a task for the Egyptian people.  We don't take sides with any particular party or political figure.  I know it’s tempting inside of Egypt to blame the United States or the West or some other outside actor for what’s gone wrong.  We’ve been blamed by supporters of Morsi.  We’ve been blamed by the other side, as if we are supporters of Morsi.  That kind of approach will do nothing to help Egyptians achieve the future that they deserve. 

 

We want Egypt to succeed.  We want a peaceful, democratic, prosperous Egypt.  That's our interest.  But to achieve that, the Egyptians are going to have to do the work.  ".  The above is why everyone from Iran to Russia thinks Obama is weak folks, POTUS wants to be loved, well in the international politics its better to be feared folks, fear goes a long way, weakness gets you nothing but scorn.  Thus the problems that the Oval has at the moment.

The White House: The Deputy Press Secretary has released the following statement, " The United States strongly condemns the use of violence against protesters in Egypt. We extend our condolences to the families of those who have been killed, and to the injured. We have repeatedly called on the Egyptian military and security forces to show restraint, and for the government to respect the universal rights of its citizens, just as we have urged protesters to demonstrate peacefully. Violence will only make it more difficult to move Egypt forward on a path to lasting stability and democracy, and runs directly counter to the pledges by the interim government to pursue reconciliation. We also strongly oppose a return to a State of Emergency law, and call on the government to respect basic human rights such as freedom of peaceful assembly, and due process under the law. The world is watching what is happening in Cairo. We urge the government of Egypt - and all parties in Egypt - to refrain from violence and resolve their differences peacefully. ".

Lets Get Real: 

If the Oval was so concerned how about getting off the golf course, might have missed that, or cutting funding to the Army of Egypt, or sending Secretary Kerry over, he has been to Middle East enough this year, the Deputy Press Secretary, WHO? The Oval has to lead some of the time, golf is a great game, but not that important, the African and the Middle East is falling apart while Obama puts his golf ball.

Lets Get Real:

 

This will play in to the hands of Islamic terrorists, they will use this PR disaster for the Egyptian Government to show that even when Islamic Parties win elections the West will tear them down with a nod.   The West and that means the US can not do do a dam thing about the events in Egypt, it can not afford the blow back, what if the MB get back in to power and tear up the peace deal between Egypt and Israel, you can forget getting a Palestinian State then, in fact you can bet on a Regional War, that would break the Obama Presidency, thus folks the lack of leadership by the Oval has created a frosty Arab Spring, democracy is not that great when Western interests are under threat, what a mess folks. 

The Violence in Egypt - Egypt Crisis

BBC News - Live Egypt: Reports the following from Egypt, " Security forces move into clear two protest camps in Cairo occupied by supporters of deposed President Mohammed Morsi....Witnesses describe seeing dozens of bodies while the Muslim Brotherhood puts the number of deaths in the hundreds....There are also reports of violence in other areas of Egypt .. ".

Lets Get Real: 

As stated yesterday folks the Muslim Brotherhood might have made a fatal error of judgement in thinking that they could force the new Government to place former President Morsi back in power, the Army has to much to lose to risk that, one has to assume that the Army told the Oval it was going to do this, or like President Putin they have no time for President Obama.   Lets see if President Obama can get himself off the golf course to say something about Egypt, as with China in 1989 the US has to much to lose in the relationship, the Oval needs a semi stable Egypt, it can not afford for Egypt to go the way of Syria, the Oval cannot afford for Al Qaeda to develop a military base in Egypt, that would be a disaster for US Foreign Policy and the Oval could kiss its 2nd term legacy good bye, if Obama loses Egypt he will make Jimmy Carter look  like the wise man of US Foreign Policy, yes folks it could be that bad, lets hope Obama does not mess this up, yes folks the West and the region is on very thin ice. 

Another BLOW for ObamaCare - 2nd Term Blues

The New York Times: Reports on another blow to ObamaCare, the article notes the following, " ..the administration has delayed until 2015 a significant consumer protection in the law that limits how much people may have to spend on their own health care.  ".

Lets Get Real: 

Thus folks employers get a break, now the insurers when it comes to ObamaCare, these groups get a break in till 2015, of course till after the 2014 Mid Terms, while the poor voters get truly  expletive deleted, this is typical of Obama, he is interested in keeping Democrats on the Hill that it will do what ever it takes to avoid problems before 2014.   The Republicans should have a two level strategy, it should push through a Bill that suspends ObamaCare for voters in till 2015 AND then close down the Government, the House should pass resolutions that carry on funding defence and welfare but then close it ALL DOWN.    The Democrats need BIG GOVERNMENT, if the US does NOT FALL apart with a Government shut down they lose their main argument.  Thus folks time for the Republicans to play Chicago hard ball, close it ALL DOWN, make Democrats face a choice Obama or get re -elected, Democrats will always take election folks, they are weak when pushed, they have no moral code at the end of the day. 

No Independence for Scotland - WHY BOTHER VOTING!

Guardian: Reports the following from the wonder kid of polls Nate Silver from over the pond, " Scottish independence campaign has almost no chance, says Nate Silver  ".

Lets Get Real:

Thus folks we can save millions and NOT BOTHER to have a VOTE, this blog has doubts that either side in the Scottish DEBATE will thank our American cousin, the point of democracy is people can always change their minds, if Scotland was to go Indy, the Labour Party would lose its Scottish MP's, it could never form a majority Government in the rest of the UK, that for us Conservatives has some value, but we that support the Union do not want to see Scotland leave, over the Centuries the Scots have benefited the whole of the UK from the arts through politics, we forgive them Gordon Brown to science and of course their heroic service in the UK Armed Forces.   The Scots are clever, they will not be taken in by the hot air of their First Minister, but comments from over the pond can be annoy voters.   It not like UK bloggers comment on US politics, that is a joke folks.    The annoying thing about Mr Silver is that he tends to be right, someone more clever than you, makes you drink more tea!!.
