President Putin is following the Hitler playbook, in 1939 Hitler had prisoners dressed up as Polish Soldiers and had them attack a German asset, the " attackers " were all killed, it suited Nazi Germany to go with this story.  It should also be recalled that the Nazis and USSR singed a non aggression pact in August of 39.   Thus after the Nazi attack on Poland, Germany had the half it wanted while the USSR had the rest.  It can be argued that Putin is a keen student of Hitler.  The WEST must stop this invasion, HARSH words are good, but there has to be a military line that Putin does not cross, otherwise the Europe, the World in fact could be on the road to World War 3, what next for Putin after the Ukraine, the Baltic States, Poland.  As Munich 1938 has showed it is better to stop tyrants before they go for ALL OUT WAR.

One has to respect Senator Sinema she has stuck to her guns, she must be the grown up the Democratic Group, also it should be noted that Senator Manchin has stuck to his guns and refused to cut the legs of the Democrats in they are in the minority after the MID TERMS in November.  The Democratic Leadership from Biden DOWN are afraid of the base, the Democratic base is FAR LEFT, the Country is in the MIDDLE or MIDDLE RIGHT, the left with their spending money like a drunken sailor and thinking that their voters are the same as MIDDLE AMERICA, they are not, and Senator Sinema understands that more than the leadership, let's postulate that the Republicans take the House and Senate, the first people to use the filibuster will be the Democrats, and they can do that because of Sinema and Manchin have thought through the process.   Democracy is more than what your base wants at that minute, the Country comes first.  So hat off to these two brave SENATORS.

If the Russians places nuclear missiles in Cuba they will be breaking the 1962 agreement between Presidents Kennedy and Chairman Khrushchev that ended the Cuban Missile Crisis, any placement of nuclear missiles in Cuba could lead to a new Cuban Missile Crisis, and the Biden Oval cannot sell out the Turks this time as JFK did in 1962 under a secret agreement between the US and Russia.   The question is how far IS Putin willing to go and how far will Biden go to STOP HIM.  It can be postulated that IF Putin takes the East Ukraine but leaves the rest that might be enough to prevent a greater WAR, but if he goes for the WHOLE of the Ukraine, then ALL BETS ARE OFF, the US will supply military resources to the Kiev Government, very much like the US did in the 1980s to the fighters in Afghanistan.  This is hard lesson for history, if you have nuclear weapons don't give them as the Ukraine did in the 1990s.  Also it should be noted that Colonel Gaddafi after 9/11 gave up his nuclear materials to the US and looked what happened to him, overthrown by NATO.  Also this is why North Korea will never give up its nuclear missiles, the Regime is safe, the US or others will never attack a nuclear armed State, that is why Iran wants to become a nuclear armed power.  Thus a very frost few weeks ahead.

If the Russians were bluffing they have gone to far, the US under Biden is not going to say NO to the Ukraine, it might make them say YES faster.  The NATO allies are not going to remove NATO troops from Eastern Europe States that are part of NATO or their equipment.  The latest line is that Putin is to be given military options if the diplomacy fails, there is two options left, have some real talks about a new INF Treaty and advance notice of military games or invade the Ukraine and make threats to the Baltic States and Poland.  Why Putin has gone this far?  The Russian President looks sane, well for a Russian tyrant.  It has to be asked who is advising him, his rich friends must be worried that their assets will be frozen by the West and Putin could be leading Russia in to a hot war with the West.  One hopes there are some sane people around Putin, also not afraid to tell him some home truths, nuclear wars are BAD! Is the Ukraine worth it,  WW3 would make WW2 look like a nice dinner party that went wrong!

This confirms that the talks between the US and Russia was a sideshow for the Russians, they want to tell their people that they tried their hardest and what follows, whatever that is, can only be the FAULT of the West.  Putin has made it clear that the fall of the USSR was the greatest tragedy of the 20th Century, he seems to have forgotten World War 1 and 2, the holocaust of the Jews.  Mr KGB is playing a foolish game, he could drag the WORLD close to World War 3, it would not take much, a missile on the Russian side going wrong and hitting a NATO Country, the Russians making it clear that any help from the West to the Kiev Government will be seen as a ACT OF WAR, the US is already supplying Kiev with small arms and other equipment.  There could be hundred of thousands of Ukraine refuges should WAR break out and they will be heading to NATO/EU Countries.  The Biden Oval cannot be seen to appease Putin after Afghanistan, he does not want another Munich 1938 and POTUS being cast as the new Neville Chamberlain.  This developing crisis point is heading in one direction, the invasion of Ukraine and the risk of a general WAR in Europe.

One does wonder when Putin will pull the plug on this diplomatic sideshow, it is CLEAR that the Russians Diplomats have been told to keep to the Party line, that Ukraine must not be allowed in to NATO and that NATO forces should be removed from Eastern Europe States in NATO.  These States were in the old Warsaw Pact in the Cold War.  The Biden Oval should take the LEAD, send in the 101st Airborne, on a goodwill visit to Kiev and the border between the West and East Ukraine.  This would draw a line in the sand, show Putin's Kremlin that the US and the West will not be LEAD by the whims of President Putin.  Also it should be LEAKED what sanctions the Russian Federation would face if it did invade the Ukraine, make them eye watering for the Kremlin and the Russian people.  The West has had enough of following Putin, time to show the Kremlin who really is in charge, better than having to react to a Russian invasion of the Ukraine.

It is Russia that continues to fuel a war in eastern Ukraine that has claimed 14,000 Ukrainian lives and now it's Russia's actions that are causing a renewed crisis. "

As stated in this blog yesterday, these meetings, Geneva, Brussels and tomorrow in Vienna are sideshows, the Kremlin has made its mind up to invade, it has ringed the Ukraine with its forces, it has to ACT or the Russian troops will get fed up and start to get angry, also the Russian people has been been fed propaganda that Ukraine is the THREAT, will start to wonder WHY their troops are there, Putin has blocked himself in, he has made DEMANDS that NATO and US cannot agree too, Putin wants to reverse the history of the past 23 years.  The Kremlin wants the Ukraine back in Russia and wants to have military influence over Eastern Europe.  The Diplomats sent by the Kremlin didn't even have the power to agree to further meetings, on missile talks, army games etc.  After tomorrow talks this blog expects a three pronged invasion, the Russians will want to go all the way, the whole of the Ukraine, the West can expect a bloodbath.
