Coronavirus Update - UK Update 1 - Health

Lets Get Real:

The UK Government should be ready to close down, Schools, Universities, limit gatherings of under five thousand that has been done abroad, STOP the football season, and other public events.  The Government better be tough NOW and get the critical review out of the way, if it saves one life, so be it.   The UK Government has taken its time, when compared to the rest of Europe, of course it might be following medical advice, one hopes that the US and the UK is following the advice of the experts.   It is not a time to panic, no rushing to buy foods or toilet rolls, we are not at death's door yet!! NO PANIC. 

Taliban to attack Afghan Forces ONLY! - Afghan Peace Deal

BBC News: Reports " The Taliban said they would resume fighting Afghan forces, but would not target international troops.  "

Lets Get Real:

Thus a few days ago, POTUS was celebrating a peace deal with the Taliban that would END the longest War for the US.  It seems that POTUS has not gotten the Afghan President on side ( ironic, that is one of the themes of the new Homeland series ) The Afghan President must know that once the US and the its Allies leave Kabul and Afghanistan the Taliban will try to roll in, thus the opposition to the Taliban would be killed.   The Afghan President and Government thus need to keep the US in country and fighting the Taliban and other terror forces.   As has been said, it is easy to get in to WAR, not so easy to get out, no one wants another Saigon of 1975, that last chopper out.  Tense times ahead for Afghanistan. 

A No Deal Brexit in June ? - Brexit Update 2 - Post Brexit

Sky News: Reports " No deal is back on the agenda as the UK sets out its red lines....The British government is billing a no deal trade agreement with the EU as an "Australian-style arrangement".  "

Lets Get Real:

A No Deal Brexit will be down to the EU, if they keep to their red lines and wanting to fish in UK waters then the UK should walk out of the talks.  The European Court Justice should have no influence over UK Courts, it is the House of Commons that makes UK law NOW, not the EU.  The EU is still debating how it will fix its budget without UK money, well the UK should use it, rent access, but not an excessive payment, what is about right and reasonable for the UK taxpayer, everything can be done with a good deal that helps everyone, it is up to the EU.

The UK could walk away from EU talks in June - Post Brexit

BBC News: Reports " The UK has warned the EU it will walk away from trade talks in June unless there is a "broad outline" of a deal.  "

Lets Get Real:

This is TOUGH talk from the Conservative Government, the EU has to get the FACT that there was a general election in December, and the Conservatives have a 80 seat majority, and they will play hardball when it comes to the UK post Brexit.  The UK has to protect its fishing stocks and that the European Court of Justice is not part of UK law.   The UK is a SOVEREIGN NATION, the UK House of Commons makes UK law not the EU.  If in June the EU is playing silly buggers then the UK should walk, we will stand alone, that is not new to us, also we can start to make trade deals with the US and the Commonwealth.   The statement yesterday by the Government was good, it is reminding the EU that they need us more than we need them.

Could Senator Sanders be the Democratic Nominee - US 2020 Election

Daily Mail: Reports " Bernie Sanders is the BEST option to beat Donald Trump, Democratic voters say in shock poll - and he has sneaked ahead of Joe Biden in national black support  "

Lets Get Real:

It has been  a good few weeks for Senator Sanders, he had a BIG WIN Nevada, the Democratic Debate in South Carolina did not hurt him much, with the exception of his approval for some of Fidel Castro's domestic policies ( he did manage to say in an interview that he opposed the jailing of reformers in Cuaba ).   The South Carolina Primary is a must win for VP Biden, the polls give him a health lead, if he does win he can roll up the States on Super Tuesday.  On the other hand should Sanders gain further traction with the African - American vote then Biden could be finished.  It could all come down to Super Tuesday, 14 States are voting, it will be end of the road for some of the candidates, like Warren, Mayor Pete and Senator Klobuchar, they will not have the money to carry on.   The battle for the nomination could be down to Senator Sanders, VP Biden and Mayor Bloomberg, he as the money. 

Coronavirus Update - Health

Don't Panic, outside of Italy and Asia, there is more chance will get the normal flu or get run over by the bus, DON'T allow the Media to push you in to crisis point!

Lets Get Real:

The Coronavirus has spread, and Italy and Iran is off great concern, some sports fixtures have been cancelled, ( one can argue that the CRISIS level has been pushed by some of the news outlets).  On the other hand if they do not report currents events they will be accused of controlling the News as to prevent a panic.  When this blog starts to wear a Mask in public, then you should be concerned, as this blog has Severe OCD, it would tell you that it is really serious.   The current thought is that once we are out of winter the disease will be killed off by the sun, we shall see, I am not betting the house on that either.   STAY CALM and have a CUP OF TEA 

The UK Brexit Plan - Post Brexit

It's back folks, the UK plan for POST Agreement with the EU!! It is going to be rocky.

Lets Get Real:

The UK is looking for a trade deal that allows the UK to decide who fishes in it WATERS, that is a major red line, trade tariffs should be at ZERO, both sides need this, if the EU wants to play silly buggers with the French, then they should be told to get lost.   Also European Laws should come under UK Courts, not the other way around.   PM Boris won an election on being tough with the EU, this is the time to walk out of the EU has not gotten the message with the General Election in 2019.  The UK will be a SOVEREIGN country again.
