Obama and Reagan and the US Econoomy

CNN Politics: Reports on the different economic aspects that faced President Reagan in 1984 compard to those face today by the Obama Re-Elect Committee. In essence Reagan had a strong economic uplift in employment, numbers that the Obama Re-Elec Committee can only dream about at the present.

Lets Get Real:

At its most basic Reagan cut taxes, cut Government spending and built up US Defences. In contrast Obama wants to raise taxes, make the US a welfare state, cut defence spending to spend on welfare. The problem is that President Obama thinks he can spend like LBJ’s Great Society without the political blowback from the voters. WRONG. President Obama is no Liberal Reagan, by comparsion Reagan in a odd way is more like LBJ, both Presidents had strong agendas, but they worked the system, they took people with them, Obama pushed ObamaCare down the throats of Americans, that kind of Chicago brutal politics always get blowback, so Obama might have been a liberal Reagan, but he has turned out to be Carter Mark 2, arrogance with the touch of narcissism, lets see what the voters decide in Novmeber folks.

LBJ by Robert Caro - Review by Bill Clinton

The New York Times: Has a interesting review of the 4th volume in the biography of LBJ by Robert Caro, the review by President Clinton is favourable of both Caro and LBJ.

Lets Get Real:

It might surprise readers of this blog but this blog has a soft spot for LBJ, a master politician to his soul, some doubted he had one! What makes LBJ interesting is he was a uber liberal, in the period that needed a uber liberal in the White House. The Great Society and War on Poverty was needed to help those Americans that the system had failed. The US economy was booming thus the liberal polices of LBJ could be funded. The major black mark on LBJ is Vietnam, it was not his War, the escalation in Southern Vietnam had started under President Kennedy, and in the time of the LBJ escalation it was supported by a majority of Americans and the US Congress. The flaw in LBJ’s thinking was the fact that he thought he could deal with the leadership of North Vietnam, that was a mistake, they knew they could wait out LBJ, the Tet offensive of 1968 finished the idea in the minds of Americans that they were winning in the Southern Vietnam, although the Viet Cong had been defeated that impression lasted that the US could not win. In 1968 Nixon won, in essence liberals had to wait for Presidnet Obama for another uber liberal in the White House. The question is will 2012 be 1964, when LBJ won big, or 1968 when Nixon won a narrow win of the Democratic Candidate. The sad fact today folks is the fact that no Democrat runs wanting to be the next LBJ, it can be argued that LBJ the politician has been shunned for to long by the Democrats.

US Unemployment and November

Lets Get Real:

In 1984 Reagan had a booming economy, so did Clinton in 1996, this is not the case for President Obama in 2012. The Republicans have to stress the economy, the economy and finally the Economy. The Obama domestic record has the stain of ObamaCare and his failure to get the US economy going with hundred of billions of Government spending. The main stream media will try to divert attention from the economy to social issues, the Democratic theme of a War on Women. The Republican can not allow themselves to be side tracked by the MSM. This was the flaw of the Santorum Campaign, the Senator allowed himself to get in to debates that showed he was on the extreme right when it came to social issues, this is a vote loser for Republicans. The Romney Campaign has to keep to bread and butter issues, the high rate of US unemployment and underemployment, those doing part time jobs but want full time jobs. Lets see if the Romney Campaign can keep on issue, its simple the economy.

The Diminishing of Star Power - Obama

Lets Get Real:

It is interesting folks that President Obama could be a one hit wonder as they say in the music business, the youthful candidate of 2008 has gone, if anything the US voter would be doing President Obama a favour if they voted him out, his hair has gone white, he looks old, the pressures of the Presidency must way heavy on Obama, unlike two previous Presidents, Reagan and Clinton, they looked in essence the same at the end of 8 years as at the start. They enjoyed the Presidency and would have run for a third term if not barred by the US Constitution. Also President Obama has a dismal economy, unlike Reagan in 84 and Clinton in 96, thus the Republicans have a real chance of winning.

US Unemployment DOWN to 8.1%

BBC News: Reports that US Unemployment fell from 8.2% to 8.1%, also just 115,000 jobs were created in April in the US.

Lets Get Real:

The top line of unemployment dropping in normal political cycle would benefit the Oval, but as the article notes the chief reason for the drop is down to the fact that people just gave up looking for a job. The lacklustre job growth and the unemployment rate staying at over 8% could sink the re-election campaign of President Obama. The Romney Campaign is stressing that Obama is another Carter Mark 2, thus using the Reagan line of 1980, are you better off NOW than four years ago, this line attack is a good political move, the sluggish job growth does not have the feel of the Reagan and Clinton economic booms, but its early folks, lets see what the next couple of months bring to the process.

Liberal Media and Obama

Telegraph: Reports how MSNBC host Chris Matthews has compared President Obama to King Henry V of England. The articles notes the following, “ ..President Obama is certainly no warrior king leading his troops into battle.

Lets Get Real:

Folks us normal people will just have to accept that the liberal main stream media in the US is a branch of the Democratic Party for the next few months, but its not just US Citizens, even the 2nd most loathed man in the UK Piers Morgan is spinning for President Obama, even when this blog is BORED and it watches Piers Morgan he is always saying how COOL or how GREAT Obama is, after his disaster at the Daily Mirror one would think that Mr Morgan would have learned moderation, CNN might just as well sack him and read out press releases from the Democrats. But its no great surprise, the BBC, Guardian, they are so left wing they think the Centre is right wing. Yes folks they are so out of it, at least people in the 1960s could say they had took LSD, that is one hell of reason to be out of it, today they actually believe the liberal leftwing rubbish they say, what is worse stoned or brain washed.
