Covid - 19 - Update 2 - Health

Sky News: Reports " Will government accept COVID-19 deaths so it can lift the lockdown?...Politicians have a choice to make as the cost of the COVID-19 crisis will be counted in both currency and lives.  "

Lets Get Real:

It is the HARDEST political decision that PM Boris will face, how many deaths can the UK take to open up the economy, will a lockdown lifting cause a 2nd spike in COVID - 19, even worse than the present one.  At the end of the day, the UK has to get the economy going, if there are no jobs, then there will be negative health conditions.  Also its political, the UK will be a Great Recession if not Great Depression by the end of COVID - 19.  It took World War 2 to get the US out of the Great Depression and that was due to great spending, the grandchildren of today's generation will be paying back debt in their time.  Life is not FAIR. 

PM Boris back at No 10 with a message on Covid - 19 - Update 1 - Health

BBC News: Reports " The UK is at the moment of maximum risk in the coronavirus outbreak, Boris Johnson has said, as he urged people not to lose patience with the lockdown.  "

Lets Get Real:

The UK voters will be happy that PM Boris is back at 10 Downing Street, and the PM's clear message will be heard clearly, this is not the time to go easy on COVID -  19.  The question is how long can the PM keep this message up, the economy is going down the toilet, there won't be an economy to return to if the lockdowd goes for ages.  This will be the biggest decision of Boris' time in power, when does he risk there being a small peak in the death scale while opening up the economy, one sees it everyday out of the window, more traffic, whe the UK public move it can be fast, when will PM Boris see the lights turning from RED TO GREEN and move with the public. 

Brexit Update 2 - Transition Period

Guardian: Reports " Britain running down the clock in Brexit talks, says Michel Barnier...EU negotiator expresses frustrations at UK refusal to discuss key issues of transition  "

Lets Get Real:

The left wing Remain Guardian of course takes the side of the EU, the Guardian/BBC Elite see everything that is negative for the UK, why should UK waters be fished by EU fishermen if the UK is no longer part of the EU.  The UK could grant concessions, on OUR TERMS, our fish our water.   Any concessions should interest the UK more than the EU, that is the part the REMAIN ELITE do not want to understand.   The UK should STAND FIRM on our RIGHTS.  The UK voted to leave the EU, the UK Government gets to decide our waters policy and the power of the European Court of Justice, not the other way around. A phrase from Dad's Army comes to mind, " They do not like Up them " that is the UK is a sovereign power and will remain so for the future. 

US Economy and COVID - 19 - US Election 2020

Sky News: Reports the following on the unemployment in the US since Covid - 19 broke, " That brings the total number during the last five weeks to a scarcely-believable 26.5 million - about one million more than the entire population of Australia.  "

Lets Get Real:

No wonder POTUS is going slightly loopy at his press briefings with the press, he sees himself joining a very small club of one term Presidents in the modern ear, that is Hoover, Carter and Bush 41.  The No New Taxes pledge of Bush 41 was tested and he was seen to let down that pledge by agreeing to tax hikes.  Very un Reagan.  President Trump is his own worse enemy, when things are going good, he does not know when to STOP TALKING, very much like Bill Clinton.   At least Bill Clinton can say he was a two term President, while Trump looks like a bad one termer.  It is no wonder that Trump wants to re-open the US economy, he can see himself being trounced by VP Biden in November. 

Brexit Update - Transition Period - Brexit

Finally back to Brexit, about bloody time.

Lets Get Real:

The EU seems to have lost the plot, nothing is moving because of COVID -  19, the UK General Election of 2019 showed what the UK voted wanted, the voter wanted to cut ties with the EU. A clear break.   The EU still thinks that PM May is in power and can make demands and expect the UK to follow suite.   The May Parliament has gone, all the HARD REMAINERS either left or were forced out.   The UK has to be firm with the EU, it's our way or the high road.  Why is the EU so slow, are they still listening to the the Hard Remainers in the UK, if so they are out of touch. 

COVID - 19 Update - Update 1 - Health

Sky News: Reports " 'We are at the peak' of COVID-19 outbreak, Matt Hancock tells MPs....The health secretary thanks the public for their "steadfast commitment" to lockdown rules - but says they won't yet be relaxed.  "

Lets Get Real:

The First Secretary of State and the Cabinet will not take a decision on lifting the lockdown in till the PM is back at helm, the PM is recovering from COVID - 19, that can take a couple of weeks to recover from.  The UK economy could face a great depression, the UK economy needs to get back to work.   That decision will be important when it comes to the NHS and the economy, get it right and the UK can get on moving, get it wrong, and more deaths, slow economic recovery and giving the Opposition the chance to attack.   That is why the Cabinet is waiting for the PM to come back, no one want their fingerprints on the final decision. 

Trump appeals to his BASE - Immigration Ban - US Election 2020

BBC News: Reports " President Donald Trump has said he will halt applications of foreign nationals seeking permanent residence in the US because of the coronavirus crisis.  "

Lets Get Real:

The Trump Oval has nearly twenty million Americans who have registered for unemployment since the outbreak of COVID - 19 and the lockdown of the US.  POTUS is looking at November and must worry, thus his call for the US to re-open before the General Election.  As stated in my previous post the Trump Oval would like it if the Democratic Governors on the West and East Coast opposed opening up the US, the Republicans could then argue that the Democrats want people on welfare, as then they will vote for the Democrats.   Thus expect more moves by Trump to please his base and show the Democrats in a bad light, ruthless politics but good politics.
