Those 2nd Term Blues - February

CNN - Politics: Reports on its Poll of Polls, the article finds the following, "  ..49% of Americans say they approve of the job the president's doing in office, with 44% saying they disapprove of his performance in the White House. ".

Lets Get Real: 

Of late folks of 2nd Term Presidents its only been Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton that have great ends to their terms, the Gallup Poll had Reagan on 63% approval, while Clinton was  on 66%.  The upside for Reagan was that his VP, Bush 41 was his successor, it was seen a third Reagan term, while Bill Clinton was replaced by the son of the man he defeated for the Oval, Bush 43.   At the end of the Bush 43 second term,  President Bush was on 34% approval in the Gallup Poll.   Thus folks you might ask why note this with a blog post, the power to control Congress comes from the polls folks, if POTUS is down and is not running again then the House and Senate might want some distance from his policies, also Obama does not have a horse in the 2016 race, its not going to be VP Biden, that was the mistake that both Bush 43 and Obama have done, your agenda can only be seen as successful if it is confirmed by the voters after your term is over, one can postulate that if the Obama ratings dive then the Clinton Camp will make sure there is great distance between Hillary Clinton and President Obama, that is the nature of the game folks.   If your voters love you, as with the case with Reagan or trust you on the economy as with Clinton you can get away with a major scandal, if your not the above your in trouble, go ask Bush 43 about that, also Bush 41 when the economy is bad, and it was not as bad in the at the start of the 1990s.   Thus Obama should enjoy these days folks, it could get tricky later, the liberal uber media elite will move on, that is the American election cycle, also there always a chance of scandal or a foreign policy disaster, Syria or Iran folks.   Watch this space folks. 

IRAN NO to OBAMA - Iran Crisis

Telegraph: Reports on the reaction from Iran to direct talks offer by US Vice President Biden, the article notes the following, " Iran’s Supreme Leader delivered a damning rejection of moves to launch direct talks with the US administration by declaring his regime would never negotiate with a “gun to its head”. "

Lets Get Real: 

One has a feeling that POTUS and VP Biden have fallen in to same mind set as LBJ in the 1960s, he thought if he could just get in to a room with the North Vietnam then a deal could be cut, that was a big mistake, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has stated he is a revolutionary, thus the two sides are odds, Obama thinks as Neville Chamberlain thought that if he could talk and get a deal then this would solve the problems between the UK and Germany in the 1938, it fell apart within a year, this is why Munich in 1938 is still used as lesson when you appease, the Iran Regime knows if it deals with the West the next step will be to share the same fate as Gaddafi of Libya or Richard III a bayonet not in place that you want, thus Tehran wants the bomb, it has seen how North Korea can blackmail the West, how the West and its allies, in this case Japan can not react as North Korea has the bomb, and is fast developing ICBM technology for its own use and to sell to Syria, Iran, you get the idea folks.   It a game of time folks, the Tehran Regime wants to play for time so it can get the bomb, keep Israel from striking and give the impression that it really wants talks.    The Tehran Regime knows that POTUS does not want to attack, he is happy to be the Godfather of drones but does not want another major war on his watch, the Liberals in the Democratic Party were not happy about Libya.  Thus its down to Israel folks, they will have to strike, as Obama is in Chamberlain mode at the present. 

EU Budget PT2

Guardian: Reports the following on the EU Budget Deal, " after a marathon 25-and-a-half hour negotiation session in Brussels, that will lead to the first cut in EU spending in its 56-year history. ".

Lets Get Real:

Thus folks PM David Cameron has shown that he can be tough with the EU, his right wing backbench MP's will be happy, as the left wing Guardian notes this is the first budget cut in the EU's history.  One would think it would happened sooner.  The PIIGS will not be happy, this will mean that they will have to cut further in welfare spending, one wonders how more they can raise taxes without these Countries finding that they have to beg the rich to come back, the French richer are doing a runner, President Hollande thinks if you just tax the rich that this will solve all your problems, its rubbish but the French left wing elite follows this line, those that are rich leave and going to live in abroad, one of the biggest French colonies is London, they even have their own French MP.  Typical French.   The French voters have to smell the TEA, this blog has to explain once to a Parisian what TEA was, yes folks, they are that resistance to the UK culture and the real world.   If the EU wants the UK to stay in the EU it has to give powers back to the UK Parliament, the EU Parliament with its threat to block this deal is secret has shown itself to be undemocratic and not living in the real world.   This has been a good day for PM David Cameron. 

The EU and the Real World - A Time of Austerity

BBC News: Reports that UK Coalition PM David Cameron has hailed a EU Budget agreement that cuts the EU Budget for the first time, the deal reduces the EU Budge by 3%. 

Lets Get Real:

There is talk the that the EU Parliament will try to have a secret vote to veto the deal, this would be a disaster for the UK staying in the EU, the EU is bloated and out of control, the poor new EU countries joined to get on the EU gravy train, the real fact is that since 2008 the EU has been living of its dreams while the rest of the EU is going down the toilet.   Come on EU Parliament veto this deal is secret, and see the UK  leave the EU in 2017.   These idiots in the EU Parliament have to wake up, do their job, what a bunch of clowns for using such a threat, do they think they are Cuba. 

Drones, Iran and Al Qaeda - 2nd Obama Term

Guardian: Reports the following on the revelation that there is a secret US drone base in Saudi Arabia, the article notes the following, " The revelation of the CIA drone base in Saudi Arabia was seized on by Iran, where state media highlighted the story. It is also likely to be grasped as an opportunity by jihadi groups.. ". 

Lets Get Real:

Thus folks the the enemies of US and Western interests will use this story to show that Oval is breaking international law, the previous leak of the legal opinion for the drone strikes shows that the Oval has a leak problem.   Someone with high security pass is leaking this stuff folks, lets hope the FBI is called in to investigate as this is a threat to US National Security.   As the Clinton scandal showed if a elite magazine wont run a story there are other areas for a story to come out.   In many respects this might help Obama, not with the New York Times, Guardian types but with those in the centre and those on the  right.   This blog has always supported the use of drone strikes, it has some major reservations about the ground operation but as a tool it has been great, the old Al Qaeda has been destroyed, of course the problem is that now it has become a franchise, thus bases are opening up in Yemen, and in Western Africa, as with the case of Mali.    The use of drones will carry on after the Obama Administration folks, the US and the World can not afford another 9/11 in the US or 7/7 in the UK. 

Drones and Saudi Arabia - 2nd Obama Term

BBC News: Reports that the 1st Obama Administration built a secret drone base in Saudi Arabia, and used that base to kill a US Citizen and leading Al Qaeda  terrorist, Anwar al-Awlaki. 

Lets Get Real:

Thus folks the uber elite left wing media have covered for Obama over his two election cycles, now its nailing him to the wall, its simple folks, they wanted to elect the first Africa - American President, that has happened, what is most important to the print and tv media is that people either buy hard copies or hit the web sites of the newspapers or for tv actually watch news that get adverts.   Thus the Oval should be aware that it is no longer protected by the elite news media, they will go after a scandal, the liberal NYT is stuck in a hard place, as my recent post shows, one the one hand Obama is compared to Bush 43 due to the legal opinion of the Obama Administration when it comes to drones, but it does not call for any real action.   Any reader with a brain knows that if Obama was a Republican the NYT would be going after the Oval like fury.    Thus the mildest of rebukes by the uber liberal NYT, while Obama acts like a Chicago Godfather, even the TV West Wing's President had some pause,  in the real word Obama is like guy with a new computer game, the use of drones has increased under Obama, the death toll has risen.   Thus no more complaints from Democrats about Bush 43, they can jump off a cliff as far as this blog is concerned, they are two faced etc, lets hope Obama knows when to pull that switch and when to wait, a few innocent people have been killed along the way, lets try to reduce those losses Oval. 

Is Obama another Bush 43? - NYT

The New York Times: Has the following editorial on the Obama legal justification for drones, " brought back unwelcome memories of memos written for President George W. Bush to justify illegal wiretapping, indefinite detention, kidnapping, abuse and torture.  ".

Lets Get Real: 

It is interesting folks, when it was Bush 43 the liberal left wanted impeachment hearings, it wanted the lawyers struck off, but because it is President Obama, there some critical reaction, but not the great noise from the left wing media.   This is why the liberal left wing media is not trusted, if your a Democrat the media will cover for you, just look at he Edwards case,  or the late Senator Edward Kennedy, if your a Republican your guilty and have to prove your innocent.  Think folks if it has been Bush 43 killing US Citizens the print and tv liberal news would have been all over it, not so with this, and it can be argued that the actions of the Oval in this case is worse, people died, yes terrorists, but from the left wing view they should have been arrested and tried, not just killed by Presidential approval.   The blog supports a strong Presidency, but lets have balanced in the reporting, if your going to raise hell if the President is a Republican, then do the same when its a President with D by his name.   The press should at least try balance, otherwise it will go down the toilet.
