A long WAR countered by insurgency supported by the West, Ukraine could be the new Afghanistan for Russia, if the Ukraine people fight, it could be bloody and would make Putin a WAR CRIMINAL, no Western Leaders would meet him, he will be wanted for TRIAL at the Hauge for a invasion of a democratic State.  If Putin does invade it will make Bosnia of the 1990s look like happy hour, and the West was forced to end it the end.  How will Putin hide the Russian deaths, and there will be deaths, there are reports that large pits have been DUG to take the DEAD, he does not want body bags going back to Russia.  How long will the Putin Regime be able to hide the consequences of the War, Putin will be compared to Hitler and Stalin.

The MESSAGE is CLEAR from the US and the UK to its citizens in the Ukraine, GET OUT and do not expect the RAF or the United State Airforce to come to the rescue, the Ukraine is not Afghanistan, any Western action in the Ukraine could  LEAD to WW3.  In essence the UK and the US are doing another Munich, they are willing to see sacrifice a " Far, Far, way country that we know little about ", in other words the leaders of the US and UK have become the new Neville Chamberlains of 1938.  At least the US and the UK are sending lethal aid support to the Ukraine, the Sky Reporter stated that any invasion could be on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.  It would seem odd for Putin to backdown NOW, he ha almost one hundred and thirty thousand troops on the borders of Ukraine, IN Russia, Crimea and Belarus and Naval and Air support also on hand.  It can be said that Russian Ministers either lying or do not know what their own President is going to do.  The US and UK will only ACT if Poland or the Baltic Sates come under direct THREAT, that would invoke Article 5 of NATO and World War 3.  One really hopes that Putin is overthrown before the start of the Week.

One hopes MI6 and GCHQ are working in close cooperation with the CIA and the NSA, that they have their eyes and ears open, the word form the KREMLIN could come at any time, morning or night.  The only thing that will stop Putin going in to the Ukraine is for the West, in the shape of the US and UK to place troops on the West side of the Ukraine hinterland, draw a line in the snow, as stated by the UK PM today.  The very presence of a small Western Forces would prevent a invasion and save many lives but also stop the Western economy going in to the toilet and the preventing of World War 3.  If POTUS and the PM were bigger leaders they would place troops there already, prevention is better than the cure.  There is still a chance for the West to ACT, LEARN from Munich 1938, if you appease a MONSTER, he comes back.

This is a DIRECT MESSAGE to Russia, you might invade the Ukraine, but if you and you try for a NATO Country the West will take military action, Article 5 of the NATO Constitution states if one is attack ALL are attacked.  The US used this article after 9/11.  Thus NATO has to support ALL NATO Countries, the numbers do not have to be big, the point is clear, if you go through this route its World War 3.  It was reported on CNN last night that Russia had added two thousand troops to the Ukraine border, and the joint Russian and Belarus military games start soon, they end on the 20th, the same day as the Winter Olympics.  It can be postulated that Putin is waiting for the ground on the border between the Ukraine and Russia to get HARDER as this allows for the Russian tanks to move.  The the next few weeks will see other shuttle diplomacy, and it means NOTHING, it can be argued that Putin has all ready decided on WAR with the Ukraine.

The BIDEN OVAL has to decide if it is going to appease Iran or STAND UP to Iran, the frosty relationship with Russia does not help, and one does wonder if Tehran is looking at the Russian and Ukraine CRISIS and wonder if they should go for their own nuke.  As stated in this blog before, in the 1990s Ukraine gave up its nukes, they were a holdover of the fall of the USSR.  One assumes NOW that Kiev regrets give up its nukes, the Russians would never think of invading if Kiev had nukes.   Thus Tehran it can be argued is leading the Biden Administration on, it wants to see if Biden is a Neville Chamberlain or Churchill.  If the Russians invade the Ukraine, will he WEST really have heavy sanctions, or will they be weak because of France and Germany.  Thus the result of the Iran talks will depend on the result of the Ukraine crisis.  This blog postulates that Biden will appease Iran, it has already lifted some of the US SANCTIONS, POTUS does not have the backbone to take them on, also it can be argued that the US is really looking to appease RUSSIA without getting any heat from Kiev and the rest of the World and more important  American voters.

All this Shuttle Diplomacy by the UK and Europe could WORK for Putin, if he plans to invade the whole of the Ukraine he has to wait for the ground to firm up on the Russian and Ukraine border, and also the ending of the WINTER OLYMPICS in China, Putin wants China as a friend and thus will not want to upset them by having the news changed from there to the Ukraine border.  Also he might be thinking that he might get some of the concessions he wants from Europe if he applies enough pressure, or better to cause division in NATO and the EU.  In this case this would be FRANCE and GERMANY.  In the case of France, Macron faces re-election in a few months time and he also wants to be seen as the leader of Europe.  On the German side they get a big part of their gas from Russia, and thus want to see the gas pipeline between Germany and Russia go ahead.  What is in the mind of Putin, your guess is a good a mine.
