State TV and the Army - Egyptian Crisis

Telegraph Live - Egypt: Reports the following in its 2.58pm post, " Egypt's military has put officers in the newsroom of state TV in Cairo, while senior military commanders meet with opposition and religious leaders. All non-essential staff have been told to leave the state TV building, heightening the impression that an annoucement is imminent. ".

Lets Get Real:

Thus are we seeing democracy Egyptian style, the Muslim Brotherhood won a fair election last year, but they have failed to Govern for the whole of Egypt, they have put Party interest over State interest, thus the move to make Egypt more Islamic, this has caused the Middle Class to take to the streets, the economy is in the toilet, the recent violence in Egypt has put off tourists, thus high unemployment,   Lets see if a new leader can change the future of Egypt, but also keep the peace deal with Israel.   The US will have to keep a careful eye on Egypt for the near future, it can not afford another Syria.   The Arab Spring has turned very nasty and bloody, lets hope Egypt does not have a Civil War

Who Controls Egyptian TV - Crisis in Egypt

Guardian Live - Egypt: Reports the following in its 2.34pm post, " There continue to be conflicting reports about who controls state TV.  The source of the confusion appears to be whether the troops guarding the building are loyal to the president or the army. ".

Lets Get Real: 

What Egypt does not need a badly developed plan for a Coup, if the Egyptian Army has a plan it should follow through with it, and quick, a two Government structure could lead to a Civil War, those demonstrating do not want a Civil War, thus it can be argued that the Oval and US Defence Department should be telling the Army to act fast and get opposition leaders in who are ready to take charge, there should be fresh elections with an few months, those contesting the election should only be allowed to stand if they support a secular Egypt, even a moderate liberal Egypt, not if they want to turn Egypt in to another Iran.   Thus Egypt faces a crossroads, it either goes down the road of Turkey or Iran, lets see what the hours and days bring folks. 

Major Fault with ObamaCare - 2nd Term Blues

BBC News: Reports a major plank of ObamaCare will be delayed in till 2015, those small companies with over 50 workers will not have to cover them in till 2015, the individual mandate still stands. 

Lets Get Real:

This is political folks, the Oval is scared stiff of the 2014 Mid Term Elections, it does not want Democrats to lose more House seats, and this is on the card folks, also the Republicans could narrow the Democratic edge in the Senate.   The Oval is scared that the Republicans could even take the Senate, this would be a nightmare for the Oval, the House would repeal ObamaCare, it might even pass the Senate with a narrow Republican majority, then the Oval would have to veto the Bill.  Lets face it folks, after 2014 comes the run up to the 2016 Presidential Election, the only domestic achievement of President Obama is ObamaCare, if the Republicans take the Oval then ObamaCare is in danger of being repealed, this would not look good for the Obama legacy, Immigration reform could die in the House, there are still battles over the debt ceiling to come, thus folks it is not about Obama NOW, its about the future of the Democratic Party, thus the objectives of Obama and Congressional Democrats might not be the same thing folks, its about winning in 2014 and 2016. 

Mr Kerry's Failure - Middle East Crisis Points

The New York Times: Reports the following on Secretary Kerry's search for a Middle East Peace Deal between Israel and the Palestinian people, " Mr. Kerry’s efforts raise questions about the Obama administration’s priorities at a time of renewed regional unrest. ".

Lets Get Real:

This is a dig at Secretary Kerry folks, there you have Syria in a state of Civil War, this is causing unrest in Jordan and Lebanon and Iraq,  Western interests are under threat, in Egypt you have a Army Coup in the works with the support of the people of Egypt, the winners could even be more of a threat that the Muslim Brotherhood, then you have Iran on the way to the bomb within  a few months, and what is Secretary Kerry doing,  he is is Kissinger mode,  trying to solve a problem that will never be solved, any solution would be a threat to Israel, thus a pointless.   The US Secretary of State should be in Egypt, trying to get a deal between the Government and the people, he should be trying to create a united non terrorist opposition in Syria, the reason that the US Secretary of State is not doing the above is the weakness of the Oval, Obama does not want to get to much involved in Syria, it took the Assad using chemical weapons for him to get off the fence, in Egypt there is the worry that a new Government could be worse than the Muslim Brotherhood,  at the end of the day leadership is taking the lead, Obama is weak and thus is US Foreign Policy as represented by Secretary Kerry. 

Morsi and the Outside World - Egypt Crisis

Guardian: Reports the following in its recent post, " The UN's human rights office has echoed a call by Barack Obama, by urging Morsi to listen to the demands of the Egyptian people and engage in a "serious national dialogue" to defuse the crisis. ".

Lets Get Real:

The last thing that the UN wants is another Syria on its hands, it can be postulated that the US Defence Department will be in close touch with the Office Core of the Egyptian Army and that the CIA will be keeping a close eye on the moves by the Morsi Government and the Muslim Brotherhood, as has been shown on the news the supporters of Morsi are turning out with wooden sticks, in a conflict these can cause damage.    The Egyptian Army has to give the image that it is going with the will of the people, lets see if the Islamic Parties put up much resistance at least the Army has the guns, lets hope the transfer of power can be done with peaceful way, that the Morsi Government does not try to follow the lead of President Assad of Syria. 

Morsi REBUFFS Army - Crisis in Egypt

BBC News: Reports that President Morsi has rebuffed the demands by the Army of Egypt that he talk to the opposition, thus the clock ticks to a popular Army Coup. 

Lets Get Real:

The external worry for the US/West is that Egypt could fall in to a state of Civil War, it would be Syria but worse folks, the Camp David Peace agreement between Egypt and Israel would come under threat as the agreement is not that popular in Egypt, it would be one of the ways for one of the different groups within  Egypt to gain popular support by stating that they would revoke the agreement and have a more warlike relationship with Israel.   The could be a major strategic crisis for the Oval, with Syria the Oval could keep its distance in till of late, a Egypt in a state of armed rebellion would force the US to act before Israel would have to defend itself.    The Islamic elements if they think they are going to lose could use popular anger on the Arab Street against Israel to secure their base and gain support, thus the future of Egypt is import for Egypt, but also for Israel and the West folks.    The World can not allow Egypt to fall in to Civil War, that really would release the furies folks. 

Egyptian Army Coup ?

Guardian: Reports the following in its 5.31pm post from Egypt, the post states that the Egyptian Army has stated the following, " The Armed Forces renews its call and give the political forces a 48 hour ultimatum as a last chance to carry the burdens of this historic situation that the nation is going through. ".

Lets Get Real:

This Egyptian Officer Core has played this with care folks, it allowed the Muslim Brotherhood to take power, now that Brotherhood has shown that it can not govern the Army is ready to take OVER, the cover is the mass demonstrations in the streets, it is in the interest of the West for the Army to take over, they understand the interests of US in the region, in other words that Israel feels secure and that the Camp David Peace talks are not revoked.    One has to wonder how much the Oval is active when it comes US policy towards Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood is no friend of secular liberals, thus while in public the Oval can be expected to say that Democracy must be followed, while in private it will be quite happy for the Army to take over, the Arab Spring has turned frosty folks, and the Oval does not need for Egypt to fall apart as is the case with Syria, an Egyptian Civil War would be a major league disaster for the region and the world folks.
