BBC - Live Blog: Reports in its 1.56pm post the following, " Ukraine's defence ministry says it has shot down one of Moscow's troop carriers near Kyiv, killing a large number of Russian paratroopers....According to specifications released by the manufacturer, the plane can carry up to 167 soldiers, as well as a crew of 6-7 people.  "

Lets Get Real:

The UK MOD states that the main Russian force it outside KYIV, there are reports of a few troops in the Capital itself.  One can assume they are Russian Special Forces going after the Ukraine President.  As military expert on Sky News has stated, the Ukraine Forces will have a choice, EITHER fight the Russians head on or go guerrilla or insurgency, that would be the best choice, a head to head fight with the main Russian Forces can only have one victor, Putin, thus the Ukraine forces have to retreat to start an insurgency, get the Russians to commit to coming to the centre of KYIV and then take them out from the various building.  Of course he Russian might try to surround the CAPITAL, and cut off food and water to the population.  The problem with that is that it takes time, the West has stated it will support the Ukraine Government with arms and weapons, that could force the West to send airdrops in to Kiev as to supply the army and feed the population, that could lead to WORLD WAR 3.  The people of the Ukraine are brave, the WEST has to support them, it could be POLAND or the BALTIC STATES next.

The WEST has sold the Ukraine down the river, the Ukraine is the Czechoslovakia of 1938/39.  As with both cases, we end up at the Polish border, thank goodness Poland is part of NATO and the other Countries around at it.  Putin will not stop at Poland, Putin is the modern Hitler, the temptation will be too much for him, he wants the former USSR back or at least Imperial Russia.  The West will not even banish Russia from SWIFT, this allows the transaction of money around the WORLD.  It can be postulated that either France or Germany refused, it would make sense if it was Germany, they get a majority of their gas from Russia.   The West will have to support a Ukraine Government in exile in the West, also feed any insurgency in the Ukraine, the West should and the Ukraine rebels should make Russia bleed, the Russian Army is too big for Ukraine to take on, but after the WAR finishes, the Ukraine forces should build an insurgency that makes the Ukraine to HOT for Russia.  Sad say for the West, the modern Neville Chamberlain's are President Biden of the US and UK PM Johnson, when will we get a Churchill.

The above could be an invite to WORLD WAR 3, the Mad Russian President might think that the EU was taking an ACTIVE PART in the WAR, the EU should grant the Ukraine request but this blog has its doubts.   The EU after all is a commercial body, to do with TRADE, to grant the Ukraine request in the Russian eyes might look like the EU was going beyond trade, the is a TRICK REQUEST, will the EU grown up and do something, or has its value finished in the 21st Century.   This is the ultimate TEST, does the EU want to be a REAL STATE or just a members club that is hard to leave.

Russians go AFTER Chernobyl - New Cold War 2

This blog is not a military expert, but the idea that the Russians are going after Chernobyl does make one worry that the Russians have really lost the plot, what happens if a Russian missile hits the dome placed on the plant to stop the radiation coming out, the Chernobyl accident was seen as another factor in the fall of the USSR.  One hopes the Biden Oval will be on the phone with Putin tell him, that any attack on Chernobyl will cause the US to ACT.   A stated by others and this blog, the quickest route to Kiev is from Belarus through Chernobyl down the road. It seems that Putin is going for a quick WIN, one really hopes the Ukrainian army puts up and a tough fight, really make the Russians pay in blood.  One does really pry for the good people of the Ukraine.

Lets Get Real:

Since Afghanistan the WORLD has questioned the leadership of the US and specially in the case of President Biden, this is the time for BIDEN to show why POTUS is seen as the LEADER of THE FREE WORLD.  The US has to show that it can match Putin's Russia and if need be outspend it, as Reagan did the USSR in the Cold War.   The US has the power to bring the Russian economy to it knees, it should place the hardest sanctions on Russia, MAKE Russian the ultimate rogue nation, make it clear that Putin will no longer get diplomatic visits, no more talking no more treating the Russians as a equal power. Putin is the new Hitler, he has followed Hitler's case study, it started with Georgia in 2008, then Crimea in 2014 and now the Ukraine in 2022.  The West has to be seen to clobber Putin and his regime.  Thus Biden has to find his inner Reagan otherwise he will be seen as another Jimmy Carter Mark 2.

One hopes POTUS comes out with a tough and harsh response to the Russian invasion of the Ukraine, let's be honest the Russians have the biggest Army in Europe and Putin has spent a lot of money getting it in shape.  The Kiev Government does not have that big an Army, but has courage of its people, the invasion of the Ukraine will unite people, also the Government has stated that people can be armed, thus one hopes that the Ukraine Army gives a good account if itself, not all of it should be LOST on the battlefield, the Government should have formed a reserve Army for any insurgency, that should and will be the problem for Putin, the Ukraine is a big Country, one doubts the Russian Army can stay there forever, that is the Russian weakness as was shown in Afghanistan 1979 - 1989, the Reagan Administration supported the Afghan Rebels, this at the end of the pushed the Russians out and help lead to the fall of of the USSR.  The West has to make sure that any Ukraine insurgency has all the arms and weapons it need also the West should keep the tough sanctions on Russia, make the Russian economy bleed, make the Russian people angry with Putin, and on the streets to protest.

Lets Get Real:

This blog got it WRONG, it never thought that Putin would invade, but his recent speeches have shown that he just might have gone crazy, he has been in power for decades, Absolut Power Corrupts.  The Ukraine is being invaded from Belarus, Russia and Crimea, numerous Cities in the Ukraine are facing missile waves.  The Russian Army it is reported has sent in its tanks, there have been further reports of tough fighting in the East.  The World has condemned Russian ACTIONS, but the question is what next, one can expect tough sanctions, ones that brings the Russian people and economy to its knees.  The question is will that have any consequences on Putin, if he has gone crazy the answer is NO.  Thus the West, in the shape of the US and UK will have to supply arms and weapons to any insurgency in the Ukraine, the West has to make the Ukraine invasion the new Afghanistan for Putin.  Any supply of weapon will need routes, either road or air, that might bring NATO in to direct contact with Russia, thus World War 3.  This is going to be a cold hard time for the West, it can be expected that Russia will cut back on its gas export to Europe, inflation and food prices will go up.  The West has to keep it nerve, Putin cannot be allowed to WIN.
