Doctor Who Review - Ascension of the Cybermen - Arts

Doctor Who News:  Reports " Ascension of the Cybermen, was watched by 3.71 million viewers in the UK yesterday according to unofficial overnight figures  "

Lets Get Real:

This was a cracking episode, the Doctor and the Tardis family arrived on a future EARTH without people, they find a couple of humans who are trying to escape the Cybermen, and the one one that the Doctor gave the device that allowed the Cybermen to win the War.   As as the Doctor is getting the defences up the Cybermen arrive and blow up the defence field, they are crafty cybermen.  The Tardis crew are split up, the Doctor and one companion do a runner to steal a cyber space ship, who knew when the Doctor was young she was joyrider, well she did steal the TARDIS, the owner must be fed up of waiting its return.  While the rest of a few got stuck on a wreck of ship as their getaway.  Their ship was not up to much, and the ship landed on a Cyber aircraft carrier of shorts.   The Tardis family found hundreds of Cybermen ready for War.   While the Doctor and his friends ended up on a safe planet, waiting to hear about their friends and a gateway to get out of town.   Who turns up by the Master, making a great entrance  and about to tell the Doctor something she really does not want to hear.  Final episode of the season next week. 

The UK and the coronavirus - Update 3 - Health

Guardian: Reports " Government to shut schools in event of UK coronavirus outbreak..No 10 planning for ‘all eventualities’ if number of coronavirus cases surge in UK   "

Lets Get Real:

If the Coronavirus does hit the UK, the Government should think about shutting the entire UK off, close ALL THE BORDERS, no flying, no travelling by sea, a complete STOP, think of it as an early no deal BREXIT.  MIGHT as well getting the planning in, it kills two problems at once,  no spread of the disease and we get ready for a NO DEAL BREXIT after 2020.   The UK has to be protected at all costs, does not matter how it goes down with the press or the people, if the disease becomes another Spanish Flu it could kill hundred of thousands, thus the first duty of government is to protect the people at all costs.   But and this is a very important BUT, this blog does not think it will happen.  One should always be prepared, that what the Scouts taught me before they threw me out for being lazy and not turning up.!!

Lets Get Real:

This blog has been very honest in the past, it has severe OCD and if it thought that the Coronavirus was another Spanish Flu it would say so and lock itself in the HOUSE, it does not and thus will take with a pit of caution that we have another Spanish Flu.   The NHS in the UK and the rest of the Western World has built up their systems over the years, thus the idea that people should start to wear medical masks in the UK, seem a bit out of it.   The cases in Italy one can see the point, even if they have not found patient ZERO yet.   Thus stay calm and keep a even course.  

Economic Markets and the Coronavirus - Update 2 - US 2020 Election

Lets Get Real:

The question is are we seeing another Spanish Flu ( 1918 ), that killed millions, more than died in World War one.  This blog would suggest caution, modern medicine is a lot better that after WW1.   Also Governments around the World are taking care who enters their Countries.   The death toll of the latest virus might be in the low thousands by the time it ends, and it will end, but not in the millions, the virus would have to mutate to get around the latest regulations by Government.  Thus if your are watching the TV 24 hour rolling news, it is to early to order your casket, the problem will be solved. 

The Latest South Carolina Poll - US Election Update - US 2020 Election

BBC News: Reports on the latest poll from South Carolina, " A poll by CBS/YouGov in the state last week found Mr Biden retains a narrow lead with 28%, with Mr Sanders at 23% and billionaire Tom Steyer at 18%. The same poll in November had put Mr Biden with 45% of the vote to Mr Sanders's 15%.  "

Lets Get Real:

In the last few days we have seen Senator Sanders win in Nevada and the Democratic Establishment getting the coffee, that Sanders is a major threat, the last poll from South Carolina shows that Biden is losing his LEAD.  The Democrats with a brain cell have worked out sometime ago that Sanders on top of the Democrat ticket would be a disaster for the rest of the ticket.  There hopes are two fold, that Biden can win SC and change the poll numbers or that Mayor Bloomberg can buy the nomination with his money, Super Tuesday is coming soon and it was reported that Biden has spent ZERO on adverts in the Super Tuesday State.  One only hopes that the Biden Campaign has gotten some bucks in and is spending like it gone out of fashion, otherwise the Campaign will be between Sanders and Bloomberg, one a multi billionaire and other with three houses.

Bloomberg in NEVADA Debate - US 2020 Election

Sky News: Reports " Michael Bloomberg to face rivals for first time at next Democratic debate...The multi-billionaire has so far run a tightly choreographed campaign, but this is likely to be challenged at the Nevada meet.  "

Lets Get Real:

This is when the Bloomberg campaign really gets into the race, according to CNN the former Mayor of New York and spend four hundred million of his 45 billion fortune on the election.  The uber liberal wing of the Democratic Party, the Sanders supporters will never move to support Mayor, they would be exchanging one billionaire for another, and one that has a record of supporting in their view racist policies while Mayor, such as search and frisk and of saying sexual comments around women.  Also the Sanders based is very tied to Sanders, they think the DNC stole the election in 2016 for HRC.  The Mayor needs to get the supporters of Buttigieg and Klobuchar to come around and support him, this would allow the moderates to nominate a moderate for the Democratic nomination.   The debate is tomorrow. 

Migration in to the UK - Brexit Post 1 - Post Brexit

Lets Get Real:

It can be argued that the Brexit vote of 2016 fell in to two different aspects, there was the sovereign argument and the migration argument.  This blog supported the view that the House of Commons should decide UK law and with that migration.  The other view was that migration from the EU had gotten out of  hand in the South and even in North Wales.  This blog has no trouble with freedom of movement if that is approved by the House of Commons, it would be the will of the UK voter.  After the UK leaves the transition period as the article notes LOW SKILLED workers will not get a visa, of course there will have to be exceptions, for farmers, pubs etc, social care.  But as a result the workers in these areas will should get an increase in their wages, and the employers know that they hard to find, and thus have to paid for their jobs.  An increase in wages will lead to a booming economy.  It is a cycle of wealth development.
