The Other Polls

Right folks lets have a look at other polls, and in my view more accurate for the 08 race.

Rasmussen Poll: This shows the race a lot closer, Obama has a 5% lead of McCain. The tracking poll has the following results: Obama 48% - McCain 43%. Again Obama has not gotten over the 50% mark while McCain is still under 45%. Thus a narrow lead by Obama, recall if narrow lead by rule is that its an even race.

Gallup Poll: This poll shows a even race, Obama is ahead but not by much, 2%. The poll find the following, Obama 46% - McCain 44%. As stated above the Obama lead is between 5% - 2%. This race is not going to be a blowout for either candidate. A long hot summer awaits, well rain in the UK.

USA TODAY/Gallup Poll
: Also shows that the Obama lead is in the margin stated above, in this poll its 6%. Not the 15% swing in the Newsweek Poll. In this poll, Obama 50% - McCain 44%. Lets see if the polls change over the days, weeks ahead, if not we can discount the Newsweek the poll as an outrider and that is being kind, Newsweek is the tank for Obama lets hope its not became a 527 in all but name.

New Poll - Newsweek

Newsweek: Reports that Obama has had a major bounce since becoming the nominee. In fact a 15 point lead over McCain. The Poll has Obama 51% - McCain 36%. Lets recall New Hampshire folks, Obama had a lead of over 10% in the race with Hillary Clinton, what happened Clinton won by a few points. The Poll could show a trend, but lets waits for the regular tracking polls to show this lead, don't make a bet based on this poll till you see other polls.

Edwards for VP ?

CNN: Reports that former Senator John Edwards is on the Obama VP List. It would be ironic if the 2004 candidate for VP under Senator Kerry was also the 2008 candidate for VP under Obama. Also he helps Obama in the South and with Reagan Democrats. JUST PLEASE NO MORE TWO AMERICANS SPEECH'S!. On the other hand the VP is meant to be the attack dog in the race, Edwards failed to get his hands dirty for Kerry in 2004. Obama should ask Kerry what he really thought of his running mate. Also one more PR thing, he makes Obama look older, that is also good, still have my doubts that Obama will pick a face from the past.

Israel and Iran

Fox News: The military exercise by Israel is the top story on the Fox News Site. The message has worked it can be argued, the elite media is convinced that Israel will attack Iran. This message will have gotten to Iran, and EU now knows it does not have all the time in the world. I expect Oil Prices to hit new targets over the coming months.

Israel attack on Iran ?

IHT: Israel is getting ready to attack Iran, the planning and the exercise just the build up. If your a leader in Israel are you going to wait for Iran to get the bomb and starts to blackmail you and the West. The attack is coming its just when it takes place, if Israel would wait till after the USA Presidential Election, this would take the issue out of the election and would allow the candidates not to state a view, McCain would support and Obama would oppose, after the election it would not matter to Obama, it would be the transition period.

Wiretapping

New York Times: Reports from first reading like a victory for President Bush when it comes to the need to overhear the conversations of terrorist suspects. Also the Telephone Companies get a pass due to their actions after 9/11. It shows that a lame duck President still has the power even with Congress. The Liberal New York Times will hate this policy.
