BBC News: Reports that Israel and Hamas have agreed to a two day pause to the War.

Let's Get Real:

The Hamas terrorist group have to feed and keep the hostages alive, Israel is under pressure from the Biden Oval to keep the pause going  as the Oval is under pressure from its left wing, also also EU wants a pause in the fighting.  The real heavy work will come to the terms for the freedom of Israeli soldiers, Hams will charge a heavy price.  This WAR is not over.

White House complain about coverage- Biden Era

Let's Get Real:

The American voters have decided about POTUS, he is to OLD, and is not sure footed as they want.  The problem is Biden was meant to be a bridge to the next generation, he wants to be on the road after the bridge, he should find a successor he likes and leave the stage with grace, does he want to be a 1 term President, specifically if he defeated by former President Trump in 2024.

Sky News reports that Israel is open to a two day extension of  the ceasefire with Hamas.

Let's Get Real:

Thus far so good, there have been small technical problems on the whole, but both sides have kept their word.  Let's recall HAMAS is a terrorist group, their word cannot be taken for granted, they lie as they breath, also POTUS should not take to much credit, in case something goes wrong, it has in the past.  POTUS should recall 444 days under Jimmy Carter and Iran Contra under Reagan. 

Finland to close borders with Russia, with the exception of one Northern one - Ukraine - Russia War - Biden Era

Lets Get Real:

The Russian Bear will not be happy, it will have to try something else to cause problems for Finland, since Finland is part of NATO, there will be no military action, Putin is not that Mad, well one hopes, there are reports that underwater lines to Finland have been cut, the suspects are the Russians.  Moscow wants to cause friction among the Western Allies, 2024 is very important, a US Presidential Election, and Putin wants Trump to win, a Biden victory would help Ukraine with its WAR with Russia.  Thus the West should expect something devious from the Russians, they have to stop support for the Ukraine, and cause problems with Western Unity.  Putin does not have a soul, if he had one it would be marked with KGB of old.

Call this blog cynical, we shall see if the terrorists keep to the pause, after they have gotten their people back, they know that each hostage will be worth more, and thus will want more.  Talking to terrorist groups or States never ends well, just ask Jimmy Carter, after American hostages were kept for 444 days, and only released after Ronald Reagan become President.  President Reagan had Iran - Contra, he got through it, but his polls were hit for a while.  It should be Western policy NEVER to talk to terrorists, they will ask for something you cannot give.  It's an open invitation  to take Western hostages and exchange them for something, with Reagan it was arms, the funds for them went to help the Contra freedom fighters, thus Iran - Contra.  Let's see how long the truce lasts and who starts firing first.

This is Russia placing more pressure on Finland, would not be shocked if Russia creates an incident on the Finnish border, they seem to have forgotten the drubbing they got in the winter of 1940, and this time Finland in is NATO.  The Ukraine offensive has stalled in the Russian occupied land, it has become a war of attrition, very much like World War 1, also the story has fallen off the news agenda, the Republican House is balking at 60 billion aid, well POTUS better start talking to the new Republican Speaker and make a DEAL before the election process starts in earnest in 2024.  Thus the White House needs support for Israel and the Ukraine, a combined bill would help, but it needs to get through the House.  Tricky days for POTUS at 40% job approval.

The real reason the polls and thus the American people have turned on Biden is that actions he took over Afghanistan, he fled with his America's tail between its legs, and that very real FACT that he is old, HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mr President today, the American people have LOST FAITH IN YOU, they think you just like any other politician who does not get the fact that his or her time is over on the political stage, Trump is only few years younger than Biden, but he acts like he is younger.  If the Biden family really cared about their husband and grandfather, well POTUS has taken him time to welcome a grandchild, then they would tell him not to run, age like father time does not give up, many Americans think that Biden would not get to his 86 birthday at the end of his 2nd term.   That is the one thing Biden can not turn back, he is no Reagan!
