The CRUNCH WEEK for BREXIT - Brexit Update 1 - Transitional Phase

Sky News: Reports " No trade deal if Boris Johnson breaks international law, Ireland warns...Tensions ratchet up as UK negotiators land in Brussels to try to hammer out an agreement. "

Lets Get Real:

Is the CRUNCH WEEK, thus far every week has been a crunch week, this week is seen as the final week for tough decisions, there are three main issues, the UK's Internal Market Bill that overwrites parts of the Withdrawal Agreement, the issue of fish and the how much a Government can support different aspects of the economy.  As for FISH the PM can not give way without calls saying he has sold out the fishing communities, as for State support that should be easy, just find the right words that gives both sides what they want and give that impressions and would take a Court weeks or months to solve.  The chances of a deal is can be argued are 6/10, with goodwill from both sides.

UK Boris in self - isolation - Health/Boris Era

Lets Get Real:

The PM has had a rotten year since his massive general election win in 2019, the first lockdown, then getting COVID - 19 himself, and as reported it was touch and go for a while for the PM.  Then being bounced in to 2nd lockdown by a Cabinet leak, and then this week, he fired two close staff and this is the WEEK for a final decision for Brexit.  The PM has stated that he feels fine, and he should be immune, this latest development should show if you get through COVID - 19 the first time, are you immune?  This week the PM will be called to decide the fate of the UK / EU talks, who will give way first, and what if any concessions will be made by either side.  It's never boring on the Boris watch!!!

Next Thursday the deadline for a UK/EU Brexit Deal - Brexit Update 3 - Transitional Phase

Daily Mail: Reports " Officials are working to a new deadline of next Thursday to achieve a breakthrough before a virtual summit of EU leaders. "

Lets Get Real:

The Germans and the French must be worried that they will suffer a economic hit if there is NO DEAL, the French fisherman will be up in arms if they blocked from UK waters, Germany will not like that their car exports will be taxed.  It is really is time for the Paris and Berlin to decide how much of an economic hit they can take if there is NO DEAL and how long they can support the policy like taken by the EU and the Brussels machine.  There have been endless deadlines, will Thursday really be IT, or will the talks go on in till December.   That would not leave much time for the House of Commons to debate the deal and it would rush the other 27 Parliaments to pass the deal, sight nearly unseen.  So another WEEEK ahead, when will we get an answer

What is a DEADLINE when it comes to UK/EU talks ? - Brexit Update 2 - Transitional Phase

Lets Get Real:

The EU is trying to pull a fast one, it sees a crisis of leadership at No 10 and thinks it can get away with pushing the UK PM to accept a BAD DEAL.   The PM has given enough time for talks, the EU will never accept the FACT that the UK has left the EU.  The PM should state that NEXT WEEK is the final week, no more extensions, that either the EU gives away on UK demands or the UK will walks.   There is something to be said for just walking away and allow some water to go under the bridge and then start talks in early January, when the EU feels the effects of a NO DEAL BREXIT, the UK with COVID - 19 will not take that much damage, the economy is in the toilet anyway with the lockdowns, so as long as the PM is clear with the British people, that the fault is with the EU, the UK has never been that pro EU anyway.   Time to cut bait as they say in the fishing trade.

The STATE of BREXIT - Brexit Update 1 - Transitional Phase

Yahoo News!: Reports "  Brexit standoff blamed on No 10 infighting over Cummings' departure "

Lets Get Real:

The original source for this story is the left wing Guardian, and it smells like a story that they have in mind, that the PM is under the thump of this special advisor, at the end of the day special advisors come and go, some are more special than others.  The PM has to remember that he helped get the Brexit vote in 2016 and he lead in the 2019 election.  The UK voters trusts Boris, and most do not care who Cummings is or what he has done for the PM.  It is time for the PM to get back in charge, appoint a Chief of Staff that keeps him in close contact with the MPs, he doe not want to the suffer the fate of Lady Thatcher, to much big picture and not enough hand holding of backbench MPs, who are always afraid for their SEATS.  As this blog has stated many times, the UK should go for a NO DEAL BREXIT, time to move on from the BREXIT TALKS.

NO Brexit DEAL this WEEK - Brexit Update 2 - Transitional Phase

Lets Get Real:

Thus another extension to talks, this is getting silly and playing in to the hands of the EU, when will get a DEAL, December 31st, that would be far to late, and plays the EU game, pushing the talks on and on and then the EU giving us a bad deal or no deal.  Over the weekend the PM should get his EU delegation together and his No 10 staff to game out how these talks are going to end.  Any agreement needs to to be passed by the House of Commons and by the 27 Parliaments of the EU.  The EU is playing its OLD GAME, endless talks, in till the other side gives up.  The PM has to be FIRM, a quick agreement or the UK walks.

Brexit and Wales - Brexit Update 1 - Transitional Phase

Lets Get Real:

This is typical of the Remainers argument, either way WALES and the other regions of the UK are leaving the EU on December 31st, and January will be a NEW DAWN for the UK.  The mood music from the EU/UK talks seem good, but they have been a long time, and the core difficulties remain.  The left wing Guardian reported that this week was the deadline, that the House of Commons and the Parliaments of the other EU Countries need time to pass the the deal.  The talks have to reach a end as some point, and it can not be the December 31st, no more extensions or delays.   The clock is ticking, what will be the result, we shall see.
