IS Leader Hurt in Iraq - War on Terror 2

Fox News: Reports " Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State terrorist group, was wounded in an airstrike, Iraqi officials said Sunday.. "

Lets Get Real:

Modern Warfare is not just battles on the battle field, its about the PR of WAR, either the IS leader is dead or has been hurt, this in itself is good PR by itself, it will cause IS fighters to worry, will they get the same level support they had before, will IS fall apart, everything the West does to push this line is good, IS would have to show their leader alive if they want to negate this rumour that he is dead.  The more chances THE West gets to find the IS leadership the better, if they can trace areas of were the leadership is it can bomb them.    IF the leader is dead it could cause IS to fall apart and its Chiefs to become their own war lords, then the West can pick them off at the time of their choosing.  As stated this has been a very good for the West.

Lets Get Real:

IF the US and its allies had enough special forces in Iraq then they could push back IS with the help of Iraqi Forces and the Kurds, but the possibility that IS leader has been killed can not be built on because of the lack of boots on the ground.   If the IS leader has been killed then there will be internal fights with IS as to who becomes the new leader, this would have been an excellent time for the West to take more of Iraq and Syria back, but on the moment strategy of the West does not help when you have this kind of luck and can not push it further, IF the US had troops on the ground in Syria and Iraq it could destroy IS in a few weeks, not in the years as expected.   IF you have lucky run, you push it further, the present strategy does not do that at the moment.

Lets Get Real:

This is the time for Iraq and its Western Allies to strike hard against IS, IF the leadership has been removed this could allow the West to push them back hard and cause problems with the internal leadership of IS.   Once you have IS on the run and without the money to fund their terror supporters it could shorten the War in the long term.  Of course it is still a question IF the US has killed the IS leader, the more quite IS is on the subject the better the chance that he is dead.  Thus good news out of Iraq, a new phase by the US, and IS leadership command and control could have been damaged.  A GOOD DAY. 

Obama and IS - Update - War on Terror 2

BBC News: Reports " President Barack Obama has said the deployment of 1,500 more US troops to Iraq marks a "new phase" against Islamic State militants. "

Lets Get Real:

This blog does not care what the Oval calls this this new phase, as long as the US and its allies go after IS troops and leadership and kills them, simple to the point, the article notes that a recent US air strike could have killed " Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi ", the leader of IS.  If the US has killed the IS leader this would be a coup for the Obama policy of using air power alone, and then training the new Iraqi army to hold and defend land taken from IS.   As stated this is going to be a LONG WAR, there will be ups and downs, thus far this is a up, it helps Obama sell the WAR to the US public and to the Congress.  

Death in Heaven - Doctor Who Review

Lets Get Real: 

This was an excellent 2nd part of a two partner, the Doctor become ( spoiler ) of the World and got a new form of transport, a ( Spoiler ), the Mistress/Master showed she was still evil by killing off ( Spoiler ).   The team of the Doctor, Clara and Danny were so moving and great together, its a pity that Danny was ( spoiler ).    It a nice touch the Brig was bough back as a ( spoiler ) to save the Doctor having to ( spoiler ) the Master, and save his Daughter.   The end was so sad, both the Doctor and Clara laying to each other, telling each other what they thought they wanted to hear, seeing Doctor really upset by finding out that the Master had lied to him, we really see pain in the eyes of the Doctor.   Then we had a guest show up in the Tardis, it was ( Spoiler ).   This season of the Doctor Who has been one of the best, hat off to the Doctor Who team. 

IS Update Part 3 - War on Terror 2

Telegraph: Reports " The Pentagon said Mr Obama had approved plans to send an additional 1,500 soldiers to Iraq on top of the 1,400 already deployed on a mission to train and support the country's military. "

Lets Get Real:

Thus what is the outcome of the increase troops to Iraq, the WARS in Syria and Iraq now belong to President Obama, in many respects Obama is becoming the modern LBJ, his poll ratings falling at home, the WARS in a far place, there being no easy out, the Republicans are gaining due to the Obama failure at home.   As stated in previous post the Oval wants to hand over the WARS to his successor, the problem with that is that IS have a say, what if they move the fight to Jordan and Lebanon,  this would force the US to take on IS on the battle field.    As many have stated, the air power alone strategy will not work, either due to outside events or reality getting through the White House bubble the Oval will face the fact that US troops have to get in to the trenches, its just a matter of when, that is the fate of THE WARS in Iraq and Syria, either the Obama Oval will understand the fact or his successor will get that fact.

Lets Get Real:

One would have to be a naive fool not to understand the direction of US policy in Iraq and Syria, the Oval by its actions has made it clear that it will not lose Iraq and Syria to IS, losing Syria to Assad is another matter.   That is the problem with the Middle East, your never sure who are your allies or enemies for the long term.    The Oval will face a choice sooner or later, and knowing the luck of Obama it will be sooner, will it fight in Iraq and Syria, the sending of another one thousand five hundred troops makes the Obama legacy stuck with Iraq and Syria.   The decision to leave Iraq in 2011 with no US troops was a massive mistake, the result was IS, this time President Obama can not afford to lose, his legacy is on the line, thus expect more troops to be sent to the Middle East.
