The Flaws in the Unity of the Dems

CNN: Interesting article on CNN, House members who will not support Obama. This shows that on the ground House members have found that Obama has a problem with Reagan Democrats, never mind the polls, Obama has to reach out to white working class Democrats. The Elite Media is still " Its a historic mode " Obama has in some respects the same problem McCain has, the base of the Party is not his number one fan.

Cloverfield

A great monster movie, but more important it allows for character development, you get to care about the characters, the Monster in some respects is a sideshow, the threat could be anything really, the drama and in some section fun comes from getting under the skin of the characters. Hud is a great character, but so are the other characters. This is a great DVD, if you buy a DVD this month get this DVD.

Iran Threat

New York Times: Reports that the President of Iran has stated that pressure from the West for Iran to give up its nuclear plans has not worked. One can almost feel that the President of Iran wants the Israel and the USA to attack the country. An attack from the view of Iran would help the regime, it would get public support, it would divert attention from its failure on the economic front, Iran is going to get more problematic over the next few months.

Clinton = Nixon

IHT: The Clintons are keeping record of those that have supported Obama over them in the 08 race. The Clintons are not good at losing, not very classy.

VP spot with McCain

The Times: Interesting article on the VP spot with McCain. I would go for Secretary Rice, as she would appeal to women, African- Americans, to the Bush Base. President George W. Bush would lift a finger to help, it would be seen as a victory for him if she was the VP and the ticket won. So I would bet on Secretary Rice for the VP spot.

If forty two or a forever is needed to protect the civic society so let be, the fundamental job of government is to protect the people. The great unwashed or Guardian Readers care more about the small print, I care about the civil rights of the people to go about their business not under threat of terrorist attack, the government should what it needs to do, it has to win this argument in the House. Phone or Email your MP, if Labour recall to them they will be fighting a General Election in under two years, thus they need people to support them, they should vote for the Government.

VP spot with Obama

CNN: Reports that twenty names are on the Obama VP list, Obama needs the candidate to fill the following boxes, male or female, white, older, military or foreign policy experience, some executive experience, Governor or Mayor something in that frame. The choice has to be a looked at by the public as a balance to Obama. This is the first most important choice Obama will make, let hope he gets it right.
