Lets Get Real:
The problem for any US Administration is the fact that Pakistan plays both sides, it gets money from the US to fight terror but also funds terror when it is in their political interest, they see Afghanistan as their backyard and also feel that they need to counter the presence of India in the region. Both India and Pakistan are nuclear powers, the US in time will give money to Pakistan, it can not afford to allow a terror group to gain power in Pakistan, a few years back the Taliban of Pakistan was a few miles of the Capital. Also there have non nuclear wars between Pakistan and India, thus the US has to have a presence, it is to much on tinder box to leave alone. The Pakistan Government has to be seen to fight terrorists more and help the US fight terrorists in Afghanistan.
