On the Ukraine, the US did not back the Kiev Government when it was fighting the Russians, the Trump Administration after a delay decided to arm the the Ukraine. On Iran it can be postulated that Obama appeased Iran, that was his policy from the start, he did nothing when the people of Iran demonstrated in 2009, he just wanted a nuclear deal at any cost. The Trump victory was a shock to them and the Trump Campaign. The Trump Administration has sent the Iran nuclear deal to the US Congress, it await its final verdict this year.
